    I absolutely love the fact that you guys can whip out a platinum you see you and talk about it without completely discouraging your buyers. Obviously encouraging them to buy something newer and better in your product line, but so many other companies completely disregard that they had any models prior to their newest stuff. Which I have never liked.

      It's actually a very smart play on their part, that so many manufactures don't get the importance of.
      It maintains the second hand market so people can
      Upgrade more easily, because one can sell the prior product for a good price, reducing the net cost
      Buying s/h makes it cheaper to get on the HALTECH product range because one doesn't need to buy new
      One has more confidence buying used, from a person to person purchase, because with a laptop, USB cable and, if required, 12V supply one can quickly and easily check the ECU is actually still functionable
      One can also feel confident that there is still support, if not updates, for older models and newer models are easily updated with good support
      One can ask for the serial number and model, to check out the history of the ECU
      Once a s/h customer has used the product, and is familiar with the software, he/she is more likely to buy another product from the same company

    Great video, lots of information to unpack but every bit of it insightful and extremely helpful. An added bit of insurance has been to make an enquiry into the service history of the unit from the Haltech Head Office using the serial number. The fact that this is possible can offer a decent measure of due diligence. If the serial number is being withheld on purpose then that’s cause for concern and you should invest in it.
    Thanks for the wealth of insight Scott, I see that you’re enjoying yourself as always! Cheers!

    • @haltech
      @haltech  Год назад +3

      The most basic setup is what Scott is using in the video - just connect power and ground to the front CAN socket, connect your laptop with a USB cable and you are ready to play. Obviously the ECU won't be reading any sensor data (because it's not connected) but you'll be able to have a play with the software to see how it works.
