I really love this. I appreciate how you show us your vulnerability while you are doing each project. It takes the fear away from us trying to do resin. Thank you.
I like the way the black feathered into the clear edges. That was a happy accident I think. I think the edges are perfect. Nice bowl. Love it. Your video has inspired me to try this. Thank you.
I found using a small eyeshadow brush worked really well on this mould, mica won’t drop off it as it does with the paint brush. I was laughing when you were trying to work out what way the mould should go on the bowl, I was totally the same working it out, it’s a lovely mould and very cheaply priced. Love the black and gold 😊
Wow! Beauuuuutiful! I set mine over a bowl with another bowl pressed down and something to weight it. I Spray the bowl with Apel mold release. It's a lubricant. I just love your work, it's all amazing!
I have watched many of your tutorials for a while now and you have really found your niche with resin. You are fantastic and I love that you get confused and are honest abut it with the way you lay it because that's exactly what happens to me LOL. I understand!!! You are fabulous!!
The bowl is beautiful. This may not be the 'right way' but it works for me - to remove the excess mica powder I wrap a wet wipe round a cocktail stick (or toothpick might be the right word - I'm from the UK so whatever anyone wants to call it) with the tip of the point cut off (so it doesn't scratch the mould). I then wipe over the areas using a clean part of the wipe each time. It seems to make a difference. I hope this might help.
I couldn't love this more! Perfection! Very distinctive gold against black with just ideal clearness at the edges. It's like a hibiscus straight from my own mind. The gold trim is such a smart touch! Such talent and perfection!
I was having the hardest time wrecking my brain trying to figure out the best method to form a bowl with this specific mold. Soooo glad I came across your channel ❤
Absolutely beautiful! I can see doing this same thing in so many color options. I think you can “clean up” any misplaced mica powder using a small brush or q-tip dipped in alcohol. Just an idea in case you want to try this method again.
I absolutely love the edges, where the black has gone wispy into the clear, and I agree it would be easier to paint the indented parts afterwards. All in all another really cool piece, great work. I just wanted to say that I love the way you speak to us while completing your works, and know that I am replying and joining in with your conversations all the time, as I'm sure many more of your subscribers are too. Keep up the great work, you inspire me to do my own work, albeit in a different medium and style, but your enthusiasm for your work is catching 😊 Kerry x 👩🎨
Such an absolutely beautiful piece! I love the ends of the petals where the black fades into the clear just on the tips of them, and then the gold you added around the edges just made it perfect!
Julie, you are very hard on yourself. For the first time you made that beautiful bowl, it is outstanding looking. Thank you for your videos I have that mold in my Amazon cart, thank you. From Phoenix AZ 🌵🌴😷
Hi there, I actually tried the black and gold design myself, but I made a tray and coaster set. I Will post pics in the Facebook group. I had the same problem with the powder...almost the same reaction you had...felt like I was watching myself. lol
It looks fantastic, i made the coasters and i used the pen to paint the inside, let it completley dry before you poor the resin. But it worked a treat. And so much easier and cleaner 😊 love it x
I think it’s a beautiful piece. I say that because: 1) The petals compliment the stamen perfectly; 2) I didn’t have the same finished image in my head as you so I just see a wonderful finished bowl. I would love to see more of these. Thanks. 🧡🦃
I bought this mold because of this video. I wanted to share with you that you can use your paint markers to paint the raised lines without ruining the mold.
Again Julie another beautiful piece from you, I don’t see what you see, but to me it’s perfect & wouldn’t change a thing, I think this is my favourite so far, the more you make the more I love, love love love ❤️
Hi, I have a set of these moulds and I have found that the smaller moulds I used for coasters are terrific as hot cups do not stick to these at all because of the small ridges from the pattern made by these moulds , which is amazing. I really love your tutorials and the result for today’s is beautiful.
Julie, I do a lot of brushing mica into the molds and I have found that the best way to get the excess powder out is DO NOT BLOW better yet gently turn over the mold and then drop it flat. This knocks off the extra without getting it every where inside the mold. Then clean any that is where it doesn't belong with q-tips barely moist with alcohol changing it out as soon as it is colored. If you don't switch out you end up spreading it all over. Take a dry q-tip to dry up the alcohol. Yeah it takes forever to brush on the mica powder but in the end it is so worth it.
The “whispiness” of the black meeting the clear, really reminds me of a real flower 🌸. Like the satiny/velvety texture on flowers. Very pretty 😍 I can imagine this in a turquoise with an orange painted on the recessed design.
I love this piece !!!! It is soooo awesome looking just the way it is !!!! BEAUTIFUL !!!! Great idea with the bowl. It looks elegant and expensive !!!! I must try it...!!!! I wouldn't change anything about it....😊 I would love to have it !!!!! Have a great day and many blessings...
I found that painting the raised partd with gold on my finger is way easier n more exact. I also mix my mica powder with glue and paint the edges of the mold with it. It comes out already gold-edged.
Great video I have the same moulds and had similar problems as you I learnt from another video if you paint brush mica on to tip the mould over some paper towel and tap the mould so and extra powder falls of and it has helped me greatly. Good luck with all your art
I just had the black pearl delivered from Le'Rez, so I was so happy to see you using it. I was laughing veheb you were trying to paint and clean up any mess on the mould - you are such a perfectionist 😀 Buy that is why your pieces are always so incredibly beautiful! You inspire me to put in more effort and make sure I do everything to the best of my ability 😀
BEAUTIFUL. I thought you turned it into a bird bath/feeder than hung in the tree until I noticed the gold chains were actually jewelry and not chains to hang it by. lol. I love watching your video and your positivity is a joy to listen to.
I was watching the video where you make the coasters like this and I don't know how I missed this one but so glad I found it and got to watch two today
I love it!. Its quite "arte deco" . Even the gold mica drifts. Im glad you took the black to the edges with the stick. Cant wait to see whats next :-) :-)
Oh, wow I love your drawers you got. Hopefully it dries with the wispies that you made because I love them. But we will have to see what Mr. Resin wants to do. It turned out very nice, I really like it. Great piece. Have a Great Week This Week!!💗💗🙏🙏🌻🌵🍀🍂🍁🎨🐩☂️
That turned out very beautiful Julie. I have the same molds. I just did the other day. I actually did it the hard way and went around the grooves with resin in a pipette. Well it’s kind a hard to explain but I won’t do it that way no more because it was too hard but it did turn out really good. But it was very time consuming. I thought about how I was gonna do it my next time and I thought of the Mica powder, just like you did it. I’ve brushed Mica powder on other molds before and what you have to do is just take a Cotton swab and dip it in a little alcohol to clean up the excess powder around the grooves. That way you don’t have any Mica powder showing anywhere else. You’re just so creative and you gave me a good idea to make a bowl next time also. Thanks for sharing!
*A tip for embellishing with mica powder* mix a small amount of alcohol with the mica and *paint* it on. Works much better for these kinds of details. Just be sure you give it a minute or 2 for the alcohol to fully dry before adding resin. 😀
I love this and I think the soft black edges with the clear looks very nice, the only other thing you might have been able to do is swirl them. You did a beautiful bowl, and I think you are right the wispy edges and center works together.
I really loved this video. The bowl turned out beautifully. You do such a beautiful set up with your finished pieces, your design sense is just spot on. I love that you seem to have an endless supply of table cloths! So do I! Love from the US-Long Island 🏖🗽💖💐👍🤩
I like the overall look of the bowl. The wispy edges are pretty cool. I agree that the mica powder should not be brushed on before hand. When it is dry you can add your gold around the edge and in the indented parts too. That would also make sure your golds matched. When you were trying to make the edges stay down to create the bowl I wondered if you could just use some paint jars sitting close to the edge of the mold to block it in and keep it in place, it might be easier than all the tape. But the tape worked too, whatever is easier.
Any mica that gets on the mold you'll be able to see it no matter how dark. I think it gives it a cool look anyways! Great job as always! And I love the black like that! Can't wait to see what you do with it next!!
Mrs. Julie you really outdone yourself on this. I love it!!!!!!!! I must try it one day once I buy the mold. In my Mrs. Julie voice (oh gosh you guys) it's beautiful.
It turned out beautiful. Really! Someone mentioned using the gold pen to do your center. Don't know if that will transfer to resin but it would be easier for sure. Watching you has helped me get through this semi virus isolation. Love your enthusiasm. RUclips is a new friend, always available.
At 25 minutes -- if you would have taken your little spoon from the out side toward the middle, it sould have pushed the black back into the middle and the clear sould have closed in behind your spoon. Not what you planned but it turned out beautiful anyway! What a wonderful result for a first try! I think it is a win. mary from Tn.
Great try! So what I suggest is to put the black first. Do that Mica powder after the hardening of the bowl. Then pour a clear over to harden it possibly? Even the pen idea is good! I think gold flakes would have been too much. But who knows unless it's tired already! I actually like this bowl!
I really love this. I appreciate how you show us your vulnerability while you are doing each project. It takes the fear away from us trying to do resin. Thank you.
It’s lovely!! It looks very Art Deco !! And the extra bits make it even more antique looking!! It’s very nice you should be very proud of it!!
I just love you bc you laugh at yourself, when you think you made a mistake.
I like the way the black feathered into the clear edges. That was a happy accident I think. I think the edges are perfect. Nice bowl. Love it. Your video has inspired me to try this. Thank you.
Black and Gold is a striking combination❣️🥰🎉
The imperfections are what’s makes it cuter. The gold dust that’s in between is actually a nice touch
It’s beautiful. I love the smudgy middle.
I was thinking maybe an eyeshadow smudger brush w/the silicone like tip?
@@moeandco yes that’s what I meant to say 🙈
@@rosieslamon4827 i didn’t know. So it does work? Good to know, those are a lot cheaper and easier to find. TFS!
You shouldn’t second guess yourself it’s so beautiful!:
So pretty. The gold around the rim really makes this stunning.
You are the one I mostly watch very pretty. I made some molds and they turned out ok. Practice makes perfect
Wow! Beauuuuutiful! I set mine over a bowl with another bowl pressed down and something to weight it. I Spray the bowl with Apel mold release. It's a lubricant. I just love your work, it's all amazing!
very pretty you have all kinds of options with different colors

Oh !...
I must say...I love the "smokey" edges. ..
👍😉...🌿🌿🌿
Watching you draw the black to the edges. Love the whispy bits
Absolutely beautiful! I can see doing this same thing in so many color options. I think you can “clean up” any misplaced mica powder using a small brush or q-tip dipped in alcohol. Just an idea in case you want to try this method again.
You continue to amaze! Love your positive attitude and your determination. Bravo! 😍😍😍
I love your tutorials very informal and funny. you helped me to make blooms
I absolutely love the edges, where the black has gone wispy into the clear, and I agree it would be easier to paint the indented parts afterwards. All in all another really cool piece, great work.

I truly love it. The wispy does match and it’s very much original and wonderful
It's a toupee! A beautiful 'toupee' bowl lol! I really love it! You are so creative 🌺
Such an absolutely beautiful piece! I love the ends of the petals where the black fades into the clear just on the tips of them, and then the gold you added around the edges just made it perfect!
I LOVE IT 🤎 I REALLY LIKE THE FADING ON THE EDGES!! 💛 Beautiful
Love those drawers. I hope it stays with the wispiness, very pretty. Oh, it's beautiful, I love the edges of the petals.
I love the way it came out, it looks vintage to me, which is preferable !!! Gorgeous!!
Julie, you are very hard on yourself. For the first time you made that beautiful bowl, it is outstanding looking. Thank you for your videos I have that mold in my Amazon cart, thank you. From Phoenix AZ 🌵🌴😷

I absolutely love this - prefer it not being too perfect.
To be honest? this for me, is the best bowl you've made, it's gorgeous ♥
I might have too
Agree with you on this one❣️🇨🇦🕊️💞😉🌎🌌
I love this. I just love it. You have inspired me to do this as Christmas gifts.

I personally like the opaque black look, I think it’s Beautiful!😄❤️
I adore your wispy bowl.
These shelves look like they would be made for craft papers... great idea.
The “whispiness” of the black meeting the clear, really reminds me of a real flower 🌸. Like the satiny/velvety texture on flowers. Very pretty 😍

I loved seeing the little tour of your studio!

It looks very Art Deco. It’s cool.
I love the way the bowl turned out. I think dark blue with gold would also look good.
Brilliant storage! Fabulous flower molds! Terrific work Julie xxx
Ohhhhhhhh, sooooo pretty!!! I love the feather look around the edges. It’s just beautiful! Love the sound of that thunderstorm too!
I have this mold and made a tray but I can't wait to try this bowl.
Oh, wow!! This is lovely! One of my favorite bowl!! I love the edges. It keeps it from being too dark. Great job, Mulie!
I love it!. Its quite "arte deco" . Even the gold mica drifts. Im glad you took the black to the edges with the stick. Cant wait to see whats next :-) :-)
Love that colors effect ! Very pretty bowl ! 👏👏👏🤩✨🖼👩🎨🥰

This is gorgeous, I love the effect that the mica powder gives in the centre where it has spread. I think it’s stunning
I have these molds and I love them. Used the coaster molds to make beautiful Christmas tree ornaments.
Love the edges, black and clear Its gorgeous.
*A tip for embellishing with mica powder* mix a small amount of alcohol with the mica and *paint* it on. Works much better for these kinds of details. Just be sure you give it a minute or 2 for the alcohol to fully dry before adding resin. 😀
It is beautiful! Artist are so hard on them selves!
It’s very beautiful and elegant design 💙
I like how u explain and great work again 🥰👌👍👍
I love this and I think the soft black edges with the clear looks very nice, the only other thing you might have been able to do is swirl them. You did a beautiful bowl, and I think you are right the wispy edges and center works together.
Perfect storage. I was thinking the same thing about storing coasters while they cure but thanks to you I know how now😘
I love that...its so elegant
I think it turned out gorgeous. Love that pattern in the gold.

Great video Julie. Can’t believe it but I purchased the same moulds and they arrived today. Can’t wait to try them.

I really like it! It looks Art Deco! Old Hollywood!
I get what you were hoping for, and that may be better, but this one is still very nice.
I love it it looks amazing ♥ grate work..
Looks really good. Great job!
Gold around the outside edge wished towards center and white pearl swirl in the black mite have been fun
Mrs. Julie you really outdone yourself on this. I love it!!!!!!!! I must try it one day once I buy the mold. In my Mrs. Julie voice (oh gosh you guys) it's beautiful.

I actually like this bowl!
I use an eye shadow application sponge and it seems to go on more level. I have used the brush as well and have more clean up to do.
This is gorgeous. Love the wispy parts so much.
It’s beautiful.
C est magnifique, j adore ce que vous faite.
Super nice. Gorgeous
I just got this mold and did it pinks. Came out great! Love it. I’m going to have to try a bowl!
Beautiful bowl.
Oh my word this is soooo cool! I am
Always so impressed with what you produce. Well done as always!!
I think it's beautiful.
I got this mold set this week I have started my first ever resin work
