Lisa has lived off and on for four years in her Nissan NV 2500 High-roof tiny home on wheels called Free Bird! She has a remarkable perspective on life after her mother passed from Breast Cancer. Once following what society would claim to be the responsible choice of becoming a lawyer, she now is pursuing her passion for acting! Her bed converts into bench seating, and although it can completely fold away, she leaves half made for her two cats to have a comfortable space to hang out. A Dometic fridge fits snug between the seats, and a dry flush toilet fits perfectly under the kitchen countertop.

WTF. These videos are killing me when all these folks younger than me chasing their dreams and not being help back by the "MAN". As a small biz owner, I'm the man and I have no excuse. When the kids move out in four years, I hope this to be not van life but my life.
I second this. But maybe more like 2 yrs. If my son has a say in it, never lol. He hates the idea. But he is 18 with a baby on the way and a totally different place in life. I give him about 7 yrs and he will be begging me to stow him away with me 😜
Me, three!! I'm 54 and trying to talk my husband into doing this. He's 67 and is finally applying for his Social Security benefits. I hope he'll come around. I know we can do it!! OMGosh... I honestly thought I was the only "over the hill" gal/empty-nester secretly planning my own "van life" & ready to hit the road as soon as I can. Idk if it will happen but its my dream!
It will be man.. I set my sights on this 4 years ago. 2 years for build. 2 years full time on the road. I still work. I still find side gigs when I can. And I do have many complaints BUT it’s just like everything else. Has its ups has its downs but I wouldn’t have it any other way..
This is one of the best van life videos I've seen. Lisa, her van and her story are captivating and inspiring. The van's design is perfect. I've never even liked the Nissan NV when I've seen it in other videos but what Lisa has done with hers changes my mind.

Like everyone else, this is the BEST conversion ever. It's perfect. I have one question and a suggestion - how do you keep the cats from wandering away when you might want to be driving on for the day, and you might want to start growing wheatgrass for them to keep in the van - it's healthy for them and that's why they were eating the plants. You can buy wheatgrass seeds in bulk, just add dirt and water, they sprout in a few days and a crop lasts a week or more. If you're in a grassy area you can always pull some grass for them to eat but you never know if the grass has been treated or might be otherwise dangerous for them.

I think this is hands down the best vanlife tour I’ve seen. I love how you explained everything. I started solo vanlife part time in May this year. My only wish is that I’d have bought a bigger van 😅
Good for you honey, see sometimes when we think something bad has happened to us it was actually a blessing in disguise. I had a big wake up when I lost my mom unexpectedly 3 years ago too. Yes, loving ourselves and being happy is the most important thing. I’m glad your plans worked out for you in the end. Your a great role model for others.
That was a very good video. I love freebird. I've had my nv2500 for a while I absolutely love it. Great van very very reliable and easy to work on. Right now I am getting a house in Colorado already to sell it needs a ton of work though and I've been working on it for quite a while, seems like it never ends. I look forward to watching more your videos.

Don't let other folks tell you your value or how you should do things, good on you for saying "This is the life I want" and sticking with it.
It's up to each individual to decide if they want to accept who and what each other person is and if that's someone/something they can live with day in and day out. It's ok to say "yes" and it's ok to say "no, that's asking me to change who _I_ am".

I converted my van and have been doing van life for over a year now. I have saved at least $20,000 in rent. My next van will be a tall NV, Transit or Promaster.

Nice build...I almost went with an NV 2500 4+ years ago. I ended up buying a Nissan Titan 4x4 and a Four Wheel Camper pop up and can get into the back country. She is really perky. I think of Ron Swanson's take on perky people.;-)

Use Zip-Loc bags for your protein powders, and most everything else.
Get rid of the bulky containers.
The Zip-Loc bags affords you much more versatility for storage.
If your concerned about keeping the information found on the plastic containers, get a printed version of that same information.
Small is the only way now to affordable housing . Even the well off are cheap and will gravitate to this . Let's get the ball rolling globally . Less is more .

I also have to say well she gives off the aravana white Vanna White was always dressed beautifully from her shoulders to hurt at least knees and she never showed her body off she was very classy I think showing the van is what's important here if you're proud of what you've done in the gym that's great that's beautiful that's wonderful but in van life is not where you're supposed to be showing that off you can make your own channel showing the world how proud you are of your body and how beautiful you are and not do it on Van Lief or tiny homes

You dont need a lot of space to sleep, would you rather have a big house but be trapped there or trade that to wake up in places like Yosemite or the Grand Canyon? For me its an easy choice

She's invested in houses for airbnb? I find it really sad that there are more empty houses and airbnb than homeless people. this sort of investing results in massively limited rental markets for the average person and ridiculously high rents. It's not the only reason of course

Whoever commented me about not being so mean and she's pretty and such and such of course she's pretty I never said she wasn't I would never say anybody wasn't because everybody's beautiful in their own way what I said was I'm here to look at her remake of her van and not perhaps dress body which is what is being shown and her game show model way of showing her house is bother some to me I've seen so many much more beautiful women showing their houses and they're always down to earth and show their house in a way that isn't showing hey look at me look at how I'm dressed look at my half-dress body these other women dress themselves normally shorts bitter cut offs with a t-shirt or whatever not Kris Kross shirts that show half of your belly and high heels it just seems to me like she's more interested in showing herself showing her van and when I showed her to my husband who loves women he said she seemed to have an error of trailer trash I would have never said that myself because I don't get that I just get that she likes to show herself and we're here to see her camper I have never seen anybody that I would say was unattractive in these houses are awesome I prefer the ones that have the sink by the door where you can turn your faucet from your kitchen sink and pull the hose out of it and make it an outdoor shower too

I have lived in my sprinter van full time for two years. The toilet she has would be incredibly expensive and create a huge amount of garbage for any full timer. I would not want to deal with all those non biodegradable bags of urine. I also use more propane in a week boiling water for tea then she says she uses for cooking over the course of a few weeks, maybe she eats out a lot. I wonder how she does this as my reality of full time is quite a bit different. I am purchasing a Nissan van from a friend and checked out this video for ideas.
