To me what’s amazing is someone with so much talent just putting on free shows. Maybe he’s doing it for the money, but I doubt it, can’t be making too much. A true artist, true to the people, true to himself. I hope he always stays that way and gets the support and resources to keep going. One of the most exciting artists. Very inspiring
Ren's Salad Bowl technique of a cover: Put together what sounds right together and jumble! Out comes a masterpiece. The Big Push was Ren's band. They split recently. Romain Axisa especially is great on the guitar. He was the solo. There is a cover of Wade in the Water / Nina Simone / Trouble no more by the big push that is great as well, and their combo of I Shot the Sheriff / Road to Zion / Hip HOp is great too. They have a lovely cover of Manu Chao Bongo Bong as well with three string instruments, forgot which. That might be of interest to your students as well. Thank you for this journey.
Hopefully it is a hiatus while Ren is in Canada and we may yet see the lads of The Big Push back together once Ren is fit, well and back in the UK again. I have to agree that I Shot the Sheriff / Road to Zion / Hip Hop is an incredible medley
Find Romain Axisa hear him play this beautiful tune, I think he wrote it? I am not sure. it is stunning to the ears of this 74 year old lady... ♥"75 Beats Per Minute"♥
What can he not do? Disappoint. If you liked this, the songs immediately before this one were also captured. Look out for The Big Push doing I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop. It is an equally astounding performance. Just for reference, if you enjoyed the other guitarist’s playing, his name is Romain Axisa and he has his own RUclips channel which is well worth checking out. Much love from Scotland 🏴
Hello from Brighton! I've seen this incredible band around the city many times and the energy they generate is something else. If you're interested, both Gorran Kendall (bass and vocal harmonies) and Romain Axisa (lead guitar) also have solo material on their personal channels that you might enjoy. Obviously you already know all about Ren. Hope that you'll continue to cover these guys and I look forward to future videos.
I've just followed both Gorran and Romain yesterday. I can't believe how much talent they just ooze it!!! I literally feel like my mind has been changed in a beautiful way since discovering Ren, The Big Push, and all these great individual artists.
He sung that a whole step higher than Ozzy too. That's crazy. More Ren? He has two songs with a singer named Chinchilla - Chalk Outlines (live) and How To Be Me (live) - that are both simple songs, but are very powerful in their performance and in their inspiration. They're very heavy, so choose your time carefully, maybe.
Awesome reaction! Love this cover! Thanks for spreading the word and support for Ren! He has a new release coming March 29 on this birthday! Also check out Big Push’s originals like Sweet Little Lady, Watch Out, When she Goes, etc
All I can say is....I so wish I was there and I absolutely adore how much these guys LOVE playing music and that my friend is what 'It" is all about...
Great reaction, thank you! You would love I Shot the Sheriff, Road to Zion, Hip Hop from the same session and see another Ren 😅 there is no genre of music he cannot do and it’s crazy good ❤
Ren always adds his own slant to a song, usually a rap breakdown or some fusion of another song. He likes medleys, and to keep it interesting for the audience. He can rap very well, and sing very well. I think it was this gig where he also played I Shot the Sherrif ...which was retty cool also.
Damn. His GoFundMe is almost double the goal. I will throw in some euros. I'm a poor student but I would feel guilty if I didn't after listening to all his amazing music for free.
just found your channel - the Big Push is a band started by Ren a few years ago, with Gorran Kendall (blonde singer) and Romain Axisa (lead guitarist) - Romain is the only one on the group who's vocals are not as strong, as he's from France so English isn't his first language - His pronunciation goes off a bit, but his pitch is still perfect - look at the youtube channel for the big push and ren, these 3 (plus the drummer, who's in some but not all of the media) are as thick as thieves - even a live performance on the Big Push channel during covid when the gov't wanted performances via skype-esque type platforms - they did a montage which was acoustic and they fumbled around, changing instruments back and forth - just sitting on a mattress in a corner of a room - it was amazing and intimate and quote a spectacle - try it
Nice one, Bryan! This is just up your street, music wise. Glad you enjoyed it. As many have said, money game pt2 is a must. It makes sense of the first one. The Hunger is great too, but more for the rap fans. Check out his busking video doing I shot the sheriff, that’s really cool too.
@@Ed7501 once you start diving in, The Big Push has some fantastic uploads. Obviously the Bob Marley set is popular. Englishman in New York live is great too. Some really talented musicians.

@@YesYouCANPlayGuitar Really, what sort of meds are you on, i'm 61 and look like a younger version of Brad pitt, who is 60 nearly.......only joking with you fella
It does, but not for people who are not from Canada I believe. I remember being at the emergency waiting room about 10 years ago and a fellow from New Zealand was there, sick with something, and his Canadian girlfriend had to make a big payment with her Visa...
Ren is taking Rage's anti-capitalistic message to the next level and he sounds much better doing it. Maybe Ren can sway you politically someday. I threw you a like despite the Rage hate.
I really rate Ren but his anti-capitalist stuff comes across as a bit immature. I sometimes wonder because he’s lost so many years of his life due to his illness if part of his mind is trapped in the 19 year old version of Ren, kind of pining for his lost youth years.

Great reaction!
I'm huge Ren fan, my only comment is that the bass player reminds me of David Gilmore in the "Echoes" live at Pompeii 1972.
Loved it. Thank you
Please check out his I Shot the Sheriff... his guitar playing is Sweet!!!!
War Pigs/Paranoid/guitar solo Crazy Train! And Rage but the Ozzy mash up was great!!
