my favorite scenes are when Lisa does this !!! lol bwhahaha. Remebering the time she did this through the house and jamie and paul were not even home lol !!! just chattering and walking through lol then back out the door
May have been the very best 2 1/2 mins in tv! She owned it! How they got through that without losing it I will never know! When she takes that overcoat off…..OMG!!! 😂🤣😂🤣
This was one of my all-time favorite shows and, for my money, this particular bit is absolutely the funniest, lol, rof sit-com scene i've ever seen. "Sit alone at home, playing 'Hello, Kitty?' " OMG, how'd that one ever make it by the censors? But that line alone is worth the price of admission.
@@emmanuel9546 I didn't get it at first, either. How to phrase this delicately: Think about what's another name for "kitty"? (Hint: starts with a "P", same number of letters, also ends in Y). And if her married boyfriend's not available, and she's sitting at home alone playing with her "kitty," then...get it now? See what I mean? Censors must not have gotten it, either lol. Too late now. :-)
I loved this, too. But it wasn't necessarily all in one take, unless you saw some behind the scenes footage saying so with an explanation as to why they introduced at least one edit into it when Anne was at the bowl. Throughout the monologue, there are transitions from one room to the next which, while not necessarily from different takes, could have been. There's also a visible cut around the time the Lisa character takes something from the bowl at 01:57. Again, not necessarily a different take, but could have been, and at the very least, doesn't appear on screen as a continuous one, which breaks the feel of an all-in-one shot. I feel there might have been a flub there since the director probably wouldn't have instructed the editor to edit the scene unless there was an issue with it. But yes, this definitely was beautifully written, staged, directed, edited and performed, and definitely goes down as comedy gold regardless of whether or not it was a true all-in-one shot.
In a few minutes, Lisa takes their food... Jamie's red sweater...And a handful of quarters from a bowl... doesnt ask, doesn't care! The ultimate leech!! (plus taking her clothes off in ftont of paul )
Assuming they filmed this whole scene in one take, the blocking in this scene is incredible! Three cameras in studio with the set equipped with the cameras for the show within the show. The one in the kitchen clearly being on so that the screen is within frame while Lisa steps into the frame perfectly for the fake orgasm part and then walks entirely across the apartment with another camera set up in the bedroom to capture the long shot of her walking, moving back into position at the dresser. Presumably, they have the hallway set behind the front door for Lisa's entrance, but then they'd have to move that set in less than 60 seconds to open up the bedroom set for the camera to move into position and capture her walk from the kitchen to the bedroom and then move out to give her space at the dresser. She then walks back into the living room and within 20 seconds, they move the camera out of the way and the background of the hallway back into position just in time for her to make her exit. If you notice, when Lisa opens the door to leave, one shot cuts the door frame right out of frame and then switches to the second camera showing only the neighbor's door. Likely they just moved the wall with the neighbors door in place but the rest of the bedroom set is exposed, thus they had to be careful not to show too much of the hallway at that moment.
I just posted this qustion on another video of this site, but I think I will mention it again as a form of a belt and suspenders. This has to do with Anne's part on "The L Word". Does anyone out there know if the real life Anne is in fact gay?
Anne Ramsay deserved an Emmy for this scene.
Hello kitty.. took me 20 yrs to know what ment
Anne Ramsay has incredible comedic timing 👏 🙌

*I remember watching this the first time it aired and I remember laughing so hard I was crying throughout the entire scene.*
I hit the floor laughing when Paul hit the door when he sees Lisa naked.
I love this part. I think this monologue is the best part of this episode.
This monologue was the best part of the show.

I don't get the meaning of "Sit alone at home, playing "Hello, Kitty."

I know the show is funny but, having rewatched it in my 20s I've realized I have a crush on Paul.
I had a crush on him when I was little and he was on My Two Dads😆
@@ModernGoddess81 hahaha the world would be better if it were full of Paul Buchmans.
@@ModernGoddess81 same!!! And still do!!😂
I had a crush on Jamie, to even it all out...so, so cute.
Bless Paul for putting up with lisa
Lisa's funniest bit during the entire series!
omg I love Anne Ramsey.
Great show
Anne ramsay is funny in this scene
I've always found helen hunt to be so alluring. guess I should binge this show.
Me too. Definitely
The show is hilarious, and Helen is absolutely lovely throughout, my first true celebrity crush.
"Roman Holiday" is a good movie. 😆👍
Anne MADE that episode.
How I loved this show.
love the way she "fakes it" yeah that'll work. lol
Forget 15 minutes. Those two minutes describes Paul and Jamie's life in a nutshell. :'D
roflmfao!
I so needed that! If I am gonna be at work on a sunday, this is what I need to get through the day!
love this show.

I know everyone believe is Lisa taking her coat 🧥 it the funny part but for me is Helen hunt is the one that needs credit as she in front of her 🤣🤍
Lisa is the best
Where's my truck?.. "😵" there it is
Annnnnnd Scene!
Best fucking scene!!!!
Omg.. LMAO
I worked with a girl just like the sister lisa.
Paul basically married two women-- Jamie , and her whacked out sister. she just walks in anytime & takes stuff ! 😙
I feel the could have been a little more aggressive at stopping Lisa at the beginning.
Episode 3x11, timecode 16;19.
Even without knowing about the cameras, why would Lisa take her shirt off in front of Paul?
Lisa was a free spirit and unaware of anyone being uncomfortable
Lisa!

I don't know, Andrew.
Yes she is
what was it about the sister? she couldnt find work?
She couldn't find a steady guy, and the dialog here is probably a lot of the reasons!
Lisa ate dog food?
It's amazing how many famous people and shows are just not funny!
Get lost. Why don't YOU say something funny, Mister Comedy?
