@@nekogaming8461 he touched on it in the video. You can’t record all the time, you can’t trigger a recording via automation, and you can’t see a good view of the recordings in a timeline view. You are at the mercy of when your smart speaker/TV thinks that clip was worthy enough to be recorded. Not to mention that since the recording is AI driven, it hardly can resolve a person or animal more than 20 feet away with its 1080p resolution that looks more like 720p and constantly stutters while viewing it live (and I have an ideal connection).
This is why Quinn is my favorite tech RUclipsr and always will be. He's honest and straightforward and doesn't fear criticism, I agree with his takes virtually 100% of the time, and his videos are well-edited and well-structured as well as entertaining. He's also the most insightful.

Poor bottom right corner :( First Apple made made the "swipe from bottom right corner" a shortcut for taking a screenshot on iPad. Then it changed it to "open a new note" if swiped with Apple Pencil. Now it's Stage Manager... Good luck keeping track
I find it so hard to pick up the new macbooks from a table with one hand - the previous ones with even a slight taper meant I could fit my fingers underneath and lift up, but now I can't and have to push it to the table edge so I can grab it!

One of the superior part of Android ecosystem is that it doesn’t require OS update to introduce something with separated apps like iMessage. Like what he said, if you want the new features, then you must be on iOS 16 at least to get undo or edit messages to work. And this applies to other system apps like CarPlay. I've been using a m2 macbook pro 13". I love it, I didn't have enough for a refurbished 14" M3, but the fan is an absolute nessecity for me, when I play basic games like Bloons TD6 or Xcom 2, without a fan I reach 108C, with the fan enabled I don't go above 90C, which I could lower by making the fan curve more aggressive but I'm happy with my current curve.
At 9:13, although I didn't know you could start selection by tapping the keyboard when you have the cursor active, I still feel just tapping a word (thus selecting it) is much faster.
The pro is there for a very good reason, the 13' MacBook Pro has been in production since 2016 which means it's extremely fast to produce, unlike the Air. I work as an Apple reseller in Europe, the waiting time for a MacBook Air M1 here is 4-6 weeks... Apple doesn't want to lose customers since no one is going to spend $1000 more for a 14' Pro, so they had to include an alternative option that is fast to produce and can be offered to customers who aren't willing to wait 4-6 weeks. I can imagine the M2 air will be even harder to get your hands on so they had to make 13' Pro with M2.
An addition I haven’t seen much talked about that I LOVE in the beta is the addition of a haptic keyboard! It’s the thing I miss the most from my android phone and I’m so happy they finally added it.
Sounds like you should be in charge of the HomeKit program!!! I use HomeKit frequently and I agreed with every gripe you had with HomeKit. Specially the UWB chip in the phone telling HomeKit what room you’re in !
The 13” MBP should have been upgraded to the intel (10th gen) model body. 4 usb-c ports, 16GB of Ram (or 12GB,) the two fans and added MagSafe with a 1080p camera. I think that would be a better product that what they announced.

If you don’t like the touchbar, you have never seen GoldenChaos BTT. One tap open finder, calendar events, reminders, whatever, 2finger swipe for volume, 3finger swipe for brightness, , configurable to whatever you want. Support for all alternative app for the built in (calendar, music, etc)
In iOS 16, the dock color shift is different and its driving me nuts. I love using wallpapers that make the dock disappear. But as the color of your wallpaper changes, the dock will get lighter or darker. That's fine. But with iOS 16, it's much more adaptive, and i can't get it to work. It basically only works with the 37,37,37 color. Apple, please just let me hide the dock haha

as for Ventura i kinda wanted them to make a Mobile Hotspot while on WiFI feature on Mac tho, since Windows have that Feature for some time. Because it will really helpful on a True Wireless experience when you have a certain condition like limited user wifi voucher on a public place that you basically cannot connect it with Thunderbolt or LAN. so the new Feature on Ventura is not much a things to me, but the iPhone as a Webcam and even show the Desk View, Its a Cool stuff to be added!
I’m worried about CarPlay having all that control of your vehicle, I use CarPlay all the time on my 2017 Honda Accord Touring model, and it was one of the cars features that really sold me on the car, but there’s a strange thing that CarPlay does that could be potentially dangerous and that is that when your using maps and using it to give you directions it often freezes up and you could be driving for miles without knowing that you missed your turn miles ago and that the map view still appeared on the screen where it froze. The only way in my car to fix this is to literally pull over put the car in park, turn the car off and then step on the brake and reignite the engine. The. The car goes through its startup again and you sometimes have the map updated knowing where it left off or you have to tell Siri where you want to go again. This has happened to me several times and it’s happened when I was driving from California to my new home in north east Texas, I had no idea where I was and I had to exit the freeway to stop and restart the car, I’ve even had to pull over into the emergency lane to do this which was not the wisest idea of mine and it literally scared me to death. So I’m not willing to let Apple take over my cars entire system. One big drawback is that my car has its own voice controlled system built in for the climate control and maps and I never take full advantage of the cars features because I have my phone plugged into it, yes my model came out when you had to connect your phone via a USB port to use CarPlay, where now they are wireless which would be nice, but it’s not a big drag to plug and play. It does go crazy when I plug in my iPad to the cars system as it sees it as being unsupported when I’m merely trying to charge it. I have 4 ports to plug into in the Honda but it really doesn’t like my iPad. I imagine before we ever see the true fruition of this immersive CarPlay it will be after manufacturers redesign their entire vehicle system, and if they are anything like Apple they probably don’t want to share their technology with another company. We probably will not see a full dash support on the drivers control dash panel for years. So rolling this product out as a new feature seems a little ridiculous. There’s so many people that drive vehicles old and new that don’t support apple CarPlay, I know my Honda only had it in the touring model which at the time cost $40,000. I’m not seeing a time in my life being that I’m retired and on social security that I will be buying another vehicle, I will have to stay in the Honda until they literally close all the gas stations. I could never afford any of the new green deal products such as an electric vehicle or a solar powered home, they are just too expensive. And as long as we see this current supply chain shortage we might not see new electric vehicles available for a few years noe, even Tesla has an extremely long wait list for a new EV so I’m not going to be excited about this carplay upgrade any more then I feel about trading in my gas powered vehicle and being forced to go electric.
I’m gonna get the M2 Pro Sure, the M2 Air would also be a good option, but I’m drawn to the P3 display and active cooling. I have an M1 Ultra studio so I’m not in the market for raw power, just sustained performance in a notebook, 13” MacBookPro is perfect for me to edit some photos and video on the road
I have the M1 air, and it has P3 color support. Also, it's my understanding that the fanless design is only slightly less preformant under sustained load.

I don't know what you mean by literally anything you just said (this isn't disrespect, I swear), but: 1, it takes up zero space on the Family Sharing iCloud storage plan since all it's doing is making chosen photos publicly accessible to the rest of the people in the Family Sharing group. 2, it requires Family Sharing and also for an iCloud Family plan to be active.

That M2 MBP is stupid. I have the M1 MBP and I’m kinda on the disappointed side. A part of me just wants to trade it in for the new M2 MacBook Air but the extra battery life is a positive for me since i take it to work every day.
the fact that the 2-year-old M1 MacBook is still at $999 is so stupid actually. that MacBook air M2 is great, but $1199 instead of $1099 dealbreaker for me. I know it's still a competitive price, but god they certainly could make it cheaper.

Uh, Quinn... Care to elaborate on what features iMessage are "missing"? Because I like it just fine. Some of the new features are cool, but I like it because it's a secure way to send messages between iOS & macOS devices. What more could I want from it? The only thing I can think of is to get a copy of all your messages from your phone and have it as a file you can save for posterity.
Using ML to emulate portrait mode on non-portrait photos is incredible - I take loads of photos on film that I’d love to be able to use as a background, so can’t wait to be able to use those!
8:24 - they can't just kill the touchbar yet, it has SOME usefulness in some industries. the 13 inch mbp will end up being the iphone se in terms of refreshed specs for a specific feature -- touchbar for the mbp like touchid for the se.
Some of the big new features for iPad (stage manager, scaling, external display, etc) are only available on the M1 Versions. Do you think that's really just a hardware limitation or also a made-up excuse to seperate the newer (pro & air) models from the rest? I get it with AI stuff like "masking in photos" or "live text in videos" or maybe even the 6k resolution for external displays, but stage manager looks super productive for light school work with the normal iPad, or an external display would be very nice for some iPad Mini users.
The very last thing you said about the keyboard, I have been waiting for this since they introduce the Taptic Engine. Like why there heck has this not always been really?
The M2 Macbook pro is another Tim Cook supply chain thing. They have a bunch of unused 13 inch MBP chassis sitting around that need to be sold and that's why it exists.

This has happened to me several times and it’s happened when I was driving from California to my new home in north east Texas, I had no idea where I was and I had to exit the freeway to stop and restart the car, I’ve even had to pull over into the emergency lane to do this which was not the wisest idea of mine and it literally scared me to death. So I’m not willing to let Apple take over my cars entire system. One big drawback is that my car has its own voice controlled system built in for the climate control and maps and I never take full advantage of the cars features because I have my phone plugged into it, yes my model came out when you had to connect your phone via a USB port to use CarPlay, where now they are wireless which would be nice, but it’s not a big drag to plug and play. It does go crazy when I plug in my iPad to the cars system as it sees it as being unsupported when I’m merely trying to charge it. I have 4 ports to plug into in the Honda but it really doesn’t like my iPad. I imagine before we ever see the true fruition of this immersive CarPlay it will be after manufacturers redesign their entire vehicle system, and if they are anything like Apple they probably don’t want to share their technology with another company. We probably will not see a full dash support on the drivers control dash panel for years. So rolling this product out as a new feature seems a little ridiculous. There’s so many people that drive vehicles old and new that don’t support apple CarPlay, I know my Honda only had it in the touring model which at the time cost $40,000. I’m not seeing a time in my life being that I’m retired and on social security that I will be buying another vehicle, I will have to stay in the
Honda until they literally close all the gas stations. I could never afford any of the new green deal products such as an electric vehicle or a solar powered home, they are just too expensive. And as long as we see this current supply chain shortage we might not see new electric vehicles available for a few years noe, even Tesla has an extremely long wait list for a new EV so I’m not going to be excited about this carplay upgrade any more then I feel about trading in my gas powered vehicle and being forced to go electric.

I have an M1 Ultra studio so I’m not in the market for raw power, just sustained performance in a notebook, 13” MacBookPro is perfect for me to edit some photos and video on the road
I have the M1 air, and it has P3 color support. Also, it's my understanding that the fanless design is only slightly less preformant under sustained load.
I’m willing to bet the Air’s display is as good or better than the M2 Pro’s. It also has P3 support btw

Yeah the thought of this honestly gets me so excited. Being able to go to work with just my iPhone and then plug in to the monitor in the office and get actual work done in a proper desktop environment? Amazing.

The customizability that you get with the touch bar you can put the features that you need right on the touch bar and use those without doing weird position for keyboard shortcuts

Does anyone know: Will the new family photo sharing feature use up iCloud data space for every member on the share list (who has iCloud photo storage activated), or will it only use the iCloud storage of the family member that actually has taken the photo?? thank you. 📸
I don't know what you mean by literally anything you just said (this isn't disrespect, I swear), but:
1, it takes up zero space on the Family Sharing iCloud storage plan since all it's doing is making chosen photos publicly accessible to the rest of the people in the Family Sharing group.
2, it requires Family Sharing and also for an iCloud Family plan to be active.

That M2 MBP is stupid. I have the M1 MBP and I’m kinda on the disappointed side. A part of me just wants to trade it in for the new M2 MacBook Air but the extra battery life is a positive for me since i take it to work every day.

the fact that the 2-year-old M1 MacBook is still at $999 is so stupid actually. that MacBook air M2 is great, but $1199 instead of $1099 dealbreaker for me. I know it's still a competitive price, but god they certainly could make it cheaper.

Uh, Quinn... Care to elaborate on what features iMessage are "missing"? Because I like it just fine. Some of the new features are cool, but I like it because it's a secure way to send messages between iOS & macOS devices. What more could I want from it? The only thing I can think of is to get a copy of all your messages from your phone and have it as a file you can save for posterity.

Using ML to emulate portrait mode on non-portrait photos is incredible - I take loads of photos on film that I’d love to be able to use as a background, so can’t wait to be able to use those!
8:24 - they can't just kill the touchbar yet, it has SOME usefulness in some industries. the 13 inch mbp will end up being the iphone se in terms of refreshed specs for a specific feature -- touchbar for the mbp like touchid for the se.
Some of the big new features for iPad (stage manager, scaling, external display, etc) are only available on the M1 Versions. Do you think that's really just a hardware limitation or also a made-up excuse to seperate the newer (pro & air) models from the rest? I get it with AI stuff like "masking in photos" or "live text in videos" or maybe even the 6k resolution for external displays, but stage manager looks super productive for light school work with the normal iPad, or an external display would be very nice for some iPad Mini users.

The M2 Macbook pro is another Tim Cook supply chain thing. They have a bunch of unused 13 inch MBP chassis sitting around that need to be sold and that's why it exists.
