    There is no trick to lower the casino advantage on roulette. The math can't be changed.

  • @TheJackpotGents
    @TheJackpotGents  12 лет назад +7

    The law of averages has nothing to do with it. Each spin is independent. The wheel doesn't have a memory and doesn't care what came in previously. Also, the game of baccarat doesn't have independent events. The results are determind by the compostion of the cards remaining to be played. Therefore, the future events in baccarat are dependent upon the past results.

    It is very difficult to be a long-term winner in a casino. The best route is to learn to count cards. However, if you are successful and you keep going to the same casino all the time the casino will figure it out and bar you from playing. The best thing you can do is to play at a land-based casino where you like the benefits of the players club. Then try to play a nearly break-even game such as blackjack, or video poker, and enjoy the benefits of the club without it costing you a lot of money.

    The casino advantage remains the same on every spin of the wheel and each spin is independent of what happened in the past.

  • @TheJackpotGents
    @TheJackpotGents  12 лет назад +2

    You are only betting on the next spin of the wheel, not 10 consecutive spins, and the odds are the exact same on each spin. You need to read the Wikipedia page about the "Martingale" betting system. That will explain the math to you and how easy it is to get destroyed by the betting system you are advocating. "in 150 spins, there is a 77.2% chance that you will lose at least 6 spins in a row at some point."

    I've been to 8 casinos a total of 40 times or so. I've only lost money twice. Broke even 10 and made over $200 15 times (which I usually buy in for so $400 collectively). I don't go a lot anymore but play skill games. In play Texas holdem and when I get up a good amount I play a couple more hands out of respect and leave never betting unless I get something great. Leaving when ur ahead is a good strategy. I remember waiting for a couple of co workers to get to one, sat down at the $5 video poker 2s wild played 2 hands, first one no win the second 4 of a kind and won $230. I cashed out waited for my friends to get there and when they arrived I said "well I won $230 I guess I'm done" fye I have sat longer and won $1700 one time but most the time when I get over $500+ I'll lose it by thinking I can win more. Just get up.

      +JonBenait06 Indeed, in my experience the anti-casino types tend to be irrational people who argue conspiracy theories about casinos "stealing from people" rather than genuine concerns. I've heard some dumb ones (ie, surveillance being used to spy on player's hands, even though this information doesn't benefit the house in any way), but this one about casino workers putting their wages back into the establishments they work for is the stupidest I've ever heard.

    • @michaelyoung3079
      @michaelyoung3079 8 лет назад

      Sir Pants while I don't think there's anything to most of the Casino conspiracy theories, I do know that the casino has players at the skill games that seem to win an awful lot. I just went to the casino and the max buy in was $2,000, yet there was a guy with over $15,000 in chips and in 5 hands he got pocket AA twice, quads and a straight flush and won nearly another $3,000 in those 5 hands after I sat down. Another hand he lays down a full house Kings over Jack's when another guy had quad jacks. No one folds that hand I'm sorry, not with only 2 Jack's on the board when the other guy had pocket JJ.
      Same guy put me all in at $258 preflop while I had AA preflop. He had 6 of Hearts and 4 of diamonds and won with a full house.
      I was dumbfounded... I've never seen anyone win like that in all the times I've been to the casinos (the now 9 different casinos around 50 times).
      I don't like those automatic card shufflers that raise from the table. They had a "win $1,000" for the player at all the holdem tables with the best hand every hour... Guess who won that 4 times in a row?
      I won't play at the Hard Rock Casino ever again bc of that. I was told by 6 ppl (who he took all their money from) that he was playing for the house. I knew casinos had their own players but I've never seen anything like that... Ever... All the times I've played poker, online, at the casino, or with friends.

    • @rethguals
      @rethguals 8 лет назад +1

      +Michael Young I'm disinclined to believe casinos have their own players planted in poker rooms (especially ones that the house cheats for), as the level of scrutiny casinos receive from regulatory bodies these days means cheating is a sure way for a casino to lose its license (especially when the games are designed to generate money for the casinos in the long run).
      As a dealer, I see regulars get these ridiculous streaks all the time; particularly in Roulette, but I've seen punters win hand after hand of Baccarat or BJ (my casino uses continuous shufflers so you can't count). One might think they might have found a way of getting around the odds, but I know that the house edge is subtle enough that streaks are easily possible even if the house stills wins in the long run. Sure enough, I see these people regularly and the nights where they win big are outnumbered by the nights where they just bleed chips like crazy.
      It's easy to blame things on the shufflers (which are regularly checked by gaming commissions), magnets in the roulette wheel or the possibility of a casino planting its own guys in the poker room (which is an illegal, risky, stupid move), but unlikely events are still possible and on most shifts I'll have someone blame his misfortunes on me or the casino rather than the fact he placed wagers on an unequal bets.

      If you are hitting the roulette table, betting the outside line is even more is probably your best bet… I say this because if you throw down $50 on red, and a 5 on 0-00 as a means of insuring that bet you statistically have a 56% chance of hitting.
      If you hit zero or double zero...you win $88, lose 50, so you yield +$38....or best case scenario...you hit a red number and win 50....lose $5, and yield $45...or black...and lose $55.

    Yes, each spin is independent... however, it is not the same to look at each spin individually than look at them as a 10 spin "pack". The odds of a single color to appear once in one spin are 18/38 or 18/37 depending on the roulette. The odds of the same color appearing 10 times in a row are (18/38)^10 which is roughly 0.05%

    Play Live Poker (against people who suck worse than you), sports betting (extreme amount of work and knowledge) , or blacjack (cardcounting) and possibly video poker (must know strategy and which machines have higher payback). I've heard about dice manipulation (throwing techniques) that give you an edge - don't know if this is real or not. Coupon runs are a good way to get an edge.

I don't bet much maybe 10-15 dollars per Field bet and not more than 1 dollar YO bet, so I just wanted to know your take on the Field bets and the YO bets. Thanks

  • @paulfenix9

    because when you win the 11th time you always make profit of 10 if you double. what i usually do is: start with 150€. lets say i always bet on red colour. with 150 ive money to double my bet (if i start my initial bet with 10) 4 times: 10, 20 , 40 ,80 = 150. so it can go black 3 times as long as the 4th time its red, you always win 10 profit. if you calculate the possibility of something that has 51.4% of happening, happens 4 times in a row you can calculate how is the chance of you losing.

      I am not too familiar with the game so I had to look it up. Apparently there are 2 versions of the game: 1 where you get some sort of bonus on a tie after a tie which has a house edge of 2.33% and one where you do not get a bonus on a tie after a tie and that game has a house edge of 2.87%.

    It is funny to think people think there is a memory on the previous roll. The probability for player to hit 1000 times in a row is 2 ^ 1000 which is an absurdly rare and perhaps never will happen during the time baccarat is played.

  • @TheJackpotGents
    @TheJackpotGents  11 лет назад +1

    Well, it certainly helps to learn the correct strategies to lower the casino's edge against you in all of the games you want to play. I would agree with your statement that "You can be the best blackjack player in the world, but if your not lucky, your not going to win." However, in the long run, a knowledgeable player will always do better than someone who just guesses how to play their hands. Plus, the longer you play, the more likely the outcome will equal the true casino advantage.

  • @JayB2

    @ 12:50 he mentions *Card Counters* in Blackjack. Problem is most of the good card counters eventually get barred from the casinos. In most places casinos can bar you for any reason. And most of them view card counting as equal to cheating. Even though "legally" card counting is not cheating.

    i calculated that and the chance of the other colours (not red) appearing 4 times in a row is 6.95%. but to make it even before losing all your 150 you need to at least make 150 (do this method 15 times 10 profit each), then i calculated how many times that percentage happens in 15 times and it gave me 1.03 times. i dont know if i could explain myself or not, mby im wrong with this but ive already tried it and it works, at least for me. i do it like 10 times (get 100) and go away.

    • @TheJackpotGents
      @TheJackpotGents  6 лет назад +1

      In the long run the banker hand will win more often. To compensate for that, the house charges a 5% commission on winning banker hands. If the did not charge that commission they would lose money on the game. There is no commission charged on player hands. It is the math of the game that determines the house edge on baccarat, just as it is with any casino game.

      It sounds like you may have a gambling problem and we have a page of information on that subject - www.americancasinoguidebook.com/problem-gambling-help.html
      Here is the most important information from that page - If you believe you might have a gambling problem you should be aware that help is available from The National Council on Problem Gambling, Inc. It is the foremost advocacy organization in the country for problem gamblers and is headquartered in Washington, D.C. It was formed in 1972 as a non-profit agency to promote public education and awareness about gambling problems and operates a 24-hour nationwide help line at (800) 522-4700, plus a website at www.ncpgambling.org. Anyone contacting that organization will be provided with the appropriate referral resources for help with their gambling problem.
      Another good source for anyone seeking help with a gambling problem is Gambler’s Anonymous. They have chapters in many cities throughout the U.S. as well as in most major cities throughout the world. You can see a list of all those cities on their website at www.gamblersanonymous.org or contact them by telephone at (213) 386-8789.
      A third program, Gam-Anon, specializes in helping the spouse, family and close friends of compulsive gamblers rather than the gamblers themselves.If you are adversely affected by a loved one who is a compulsive gambler, then Gam-Anon is an organization that may benefit you. They have a website at www.gam-anon.org that lists the cities which host meetings. They can also be contacted by telephone at (718) 352-1671.
      I sincerely hope that none of you will ever have a need to contact any of these worthwhile organizations, but it was an issue that I felt should be addressed.

    • @michaelhorsey5871
      @michaelhorsey5871 5 лет назад

      Rare Form there is different versions throughout the world. In Washington where I live there is a version similar to what you said in the casinos I frequent called “Down Under 21” where you see the dealers top card, then the dealer looks at his bottom card and gives you a range on what the second card is.
      Example:
      Dealer has a 7 up card, and his down card is 3. (But all YOU are told is that the bottom card is somewhere between the 2-6 range)
      if it is a 20, the dealer shows both cards so you can hit for a push, but the biggest problem with these versions of the game is
      1. There has to be an equilibrium for the house. Quite often since you know the bottom cards range, if dealer busts with a 22, then you push regardless of your hand total (excluding a blackjack)
      2. You have to play games like this alone or you will bone the table, especially if the people you are with are playing perfect basic strategy then you deviate to go chasing a 21 when the dealer shows a 20.
      Basically what I’m saying is...stay away from this scam of a game.

    And then, when you do go in, be sure to have a loss limit and a win goal. If you take 100 bucks, you should leave when you hit $50, or when you hit $200. Or when you hit that $200 mark, recalculate your goals and losses. Best not to chase a losing streak.

      No, you are actually at a 0.55% DISADVANTAGE playing the basic strategy alone(the way it's presented in this video is misleading) and that assumes perfect play. It also varies slightly depending on the exact rules being used. If playing the basic strategy gave players an edge, casinos wouldn't allow and even hand out basic strategy cards to them to use while playing.

      When there are more high cards in the deck it favors the player because the dealer will bust more often because he has to hit until he has 17 or more. As a player, you don't have to do that. Also, more blackjacks will appear when there are more high cards. If you get a blackjack you are paid 3-to-2 (don't play any games that pay less than 3-to-2 for blackjack), but if the dealer gets a blackjack you only lose your original bet.

      If you bet on black, you win if it lands on one of the 18 black slots. The house wins on 18 red slots, the 0, and the 00.

    You say in counting to raise the bets by the amount of high cards? And the lower cards favor the house? I have found the exact opposite to be true. And if there are more high cards that means the dealer has a up to 42% chance of pulling a face card. If they pull a face card and you stick at 17+ and their next card has again around a 42% chance of puling another face card then you will lose often. However if they pull a low card all you need is a 12+ to stick and the chance of them busting is huge. Now that is starting a deck. If you have even more face cards if you have a better chance at more black jacks that is true but guess what so do they. It makes no sense at all....no matter how you slice it. The only winners have two events: a set amount to win or lose and an exit strategy with a support person to enforce it.

    • @TheJackpotGents

      If there are lots of high cards the dealer is just as likely to get them as the you. However, if you get a blackjack you are paid 3-to-2 (don't play any games that pay less than 3-to-2 for blackjack), but if the dealer gets a blackjack you only lose your original bet. Also, when there are more high cards in the deck it favors the player because the dealer will bust more often because he has to hit until he has 17 or more. As a player, you don't have to do that. You can stop when you have 12, or higher.

    First off: you need to count the green. Your chance of losing is 20/38, not 18/38, and ten times in a row, 0.16%. But more importantly, when you do lose, you lose 2,047 times your bet, and win you win, you only win one. Play 2,000 sessions not giving up until your tenth loss, you'll lose on average three of them, and be over 4,000 units behind. You're essentially betting your entire bankroll with a very good chance of winning, but a commensurately small payout.

Yes, of course it is, it is still a game of chance, but by counting cards you are playing the odds and HAVE AN IDEA OF WHAT THE ODDS ARE, and when the TIME IS RIGHT you use the information you have to sway things in your favor.

    In truth, the 6 to 5 odds on 6 or 8 in craps are erroneous..this is a HUGE flaw with all these gambling books. The REAL odds are in 31 occurrences of a 6 or 8...13 will win, 13 will lose(a 50%/50%) and 5 will win 100% of the time! The other points are also in error in most all the books out. Dice are cubes not flat objects, and must be analyzed as such! Zeke Feinberg is one of the (very) few authors that was able to point out these facts! The payouts are being shaved for all the points no matter if its a place bet or 'free' odds bet, but no one will admit to this.

      @TheJackpotGents  10 лет назад +6

      dontswin Sorry, but you are incorrect. Once the point is established, 6-to-5 is the true odds. There are six ways to roll a seven (6-1,1-6, 5-2,2-5,4-3,3-4) and five ways to roll a six (5-1,1-5,2-4,4-2,3-3) or an eight (6-2, 2-6,5-3,3-5, 4-4). Therefore, the true odds are 6-to-5.

      americancasinoguide 576 combinations on any one throw. 6 sides with 4 edges make a cube(24 possible outcomes) times 2 die =576. You'll never understand so you can think how you want and I can't show you how it works without handling the dice in front of you but these types of fractions can not be reduced thru simple math since they are cubes. M.I.T. flashed the figures on the TV screen years ago stating thus one seven every 5.33 rolls(not 6!!!!!) Hint: there are only 3 axis of a cube A, B, C Only 6 possible landing outcomes A-A, A-B, A-C, B-B, B-C, C-C...remember a min. of 2 sides are eliminated upon the landing. Cubes have 6 sides of 4 edges. 576 TOTAL(sit down and see if you can figure it out..M.I.T and Zeke Feinberg did)

    • @TheJackpotGents
      @TheJackpotGents  10 лет назад +3

      dontswin There are only six numbers on each die and there are two dice, which makes for a total of 36 possible combination (6x6=36). Those are the only number combinations that you are betting on and anything else concerning edges on the dice is irrelevant.

    • @dontswin
      @dontswin 10 лет назад

      I still can't believe you don't even know there are 576 possible outcomes on any given throw..if you don't get(understand) that point then this whole discussion is useless. You need to reconsider your position, keep believing incomplete data, I'm good! Very few people can grasp this concept any ways.

    • @dontswin
      @dontswin 10 лет назад

      Correction needed: when I said 5 will win 100% of the time on 6 or 8(when as a point) I meant 5 times the dice will seven OUT (lose) in 31 occurrences(after the 13/13 fifty- fifty chance) when its the point. So its 13 times they will be made and 13 plus 5 they will seven out. Further, the 5 or 9 will be made 10 times and missed(out-seven) 18 times in 28 occurrences. Lastly, the 4 or 10 will be made 8 times and missed(out-seven) 18 times in 26 occurrences. You can use interpolation to study the percentages..remember there is a direct relation between the 2 dice..theres only 3 axis per die and only 6 possible sets when they land as I mentioned before.

    • @mydogskips2
      @mydogskips2 6 лет назад +1

      First off, I'm not sure how well you know the game, but he does say Blackjack is a good bet, but for those who play what's called basic strategy, or if counting cards.
      While what you said may technically be true, that you actually lose most hands whether you hit or stand(I haven't looked at blackjack stats in a while, but I believe it is actually correct) it doesn't preclude one from making money at the game. The key is to vary your bets in proportion to your advantage so when you win you win more than you do when you lose, which is to say, you win your bigger bets while losing the smaller bets; your wins will outweigh your losses. You will win more when you win and lose less when you lose, relatively speaking. Counting cards will let you know you when you have a relative advantage thus indicating you place a larger bet, it is favorable for you. It is not uncommon that you will also double down more in these times as well. When the deck is "rich", that is relatively full of high cards, particularly 10s, you are more likely to get a good hand(as is the dealer of course), but more importantly, the dealer is more likely to bust. Remember, the dealer has no choice in how he/she plays their hand, it is set by the rules of the game, whereas you as a player do have a choice. You may be dealt a 10,5 let's say, that is a hard 15, while the dealer has a 6 showing. In this instance you can choose to stand, but even if the dealer has a 10 in the hole giving him a 16, by the rules he has to hit, and if he pulls a high card he will bust and you will win. Remember, when you count cards you will know the composition of the remaining deck is relatively full of higher cards, and this is when you place bigger bets. When the deck is "poor" or lean, meaning there are relatively few high cards left, you make small bets.
      If you don't know, there is a veritable science devoted to blackjack with mathematical and computer analyses along with simulations which go back at least 50 years. Like anything else, if you study and practice you can get very good, but it's not easy. Nonetheless, it can be done. I am not a regular gambler, but on the few occasions where I did gamble and play blackjack, I did win. And while there is definitely luck involved(even when counting cards it is a game of chance and you are simply playing the odds), I would not attribute my winning to solely to it. In fact, I was relatively unlucky during one of the playing sessions where I actually won. The significant part of the story is that I had a high count, which is to say a "rich" deck with more higher cards, and so I rightly made a relatively large bet, four times my average. Then I got a hand to double down on, which I did, meaning I now had eight times my average bet on the table. Well, even though the odds were in my favor, I lost the hand. That was one bad outcome, but if you play well, over time and many hands, you can(and should) come out ahead.

    #3 Is so so wrong, it's a horrible bet, don't play them unless your shooting the dice. Once you get a point, the house gains the advantage and the game will most likely end in a 7 out. For example if you bet 5 on the line and you put 10 as odds behind, and say you hit a 5 or 9, and then win. You get 15 in the back, 5 for the pass line. Yay. However if you place the 5 or nine after the point is established and win you get 21$ for your 15$ bet. Same scenario for a 10 or 4, you win 20 in the back and 5 in the front for a total of 25$, yay again, if you place the bet instead you win 27 on your 15$ bet. Six and 8 pay the exact same so no big deal. The only advantage of pass line is the very first roll of a 7 or 11 winner, and to do that, just put 1,2, or 3 $$ on the "big red" on the come out roll. Now come bets are way worse. First you waste a roll having to "come" to your number, then it has to roll again for you to win. So on a five you win the 20$ plus get your 15$ back, so 35 and no more bet to potentially win on the 3rd roll. A place bet hit twice on five so you win 21 twice, for a total of 42$ plus you still have 15$ bet on the five for the 3rd time five hits. Never come bet. It was designed to make sure you don't win.

    • @TheJackpotGents
      @TheJackpotGents  3 года назад +1

      Well it is the first half of the pass bet on the come out where you have the advantage that brings the house edge on the pass and come bets down. as said in the video, the house edge on pass come is 1.41% with no odds and if you add even just double odds it brings the combined house edge down to just 0.6%. the bets you are suggesting to make have MUCH higher house edges. The only thing I agree with what you said is placing the 6 and 8, the rest are not great ideas. Placing the 5/9 has a house edge of 4% and placing the 4/10 it jumps up to 6.6%.
      If you REALLY want to bet on the 4/10, you should buy it. If the casino only makes you pay a commission it has a pretty low edge of 1.67% and even if you have to pay the commission up front it still has a lower edge than the place at 4.76%. The only downside to that is most casinos won't let you buy numbers for less than $25 so it requires a bit of deeper pockets.
      Where you REALLY lose me, is on the big red you are telling people to make because is the absolute worst bet to make on the table with a house edge of 16.67%. I don't get it, you are going to win on a 7 on the come out roll anyways so I don't understand why you would make another bet with 11x the house edge on it.

    • @rustinhaines3387
      @rustinhaines3387 3 года назад

      @@TheJackpotGents use the big red instead of the passline if you want to win on the come out. Because once you get a point, your probably gonna lose. Then do place bets as they also can be turned off if your not feeling the next roll. To me, as a dealer, I think this is safer than pass line.
