    It seems that people think that my claim in this video is that LE is a superior game than PoE, which is simply untrue and not at all what I wanted to express in this video. I've been playing PoE for over 8 years and I've clocked about 15k hours and I will continue to do so. The main takeaway in this video was that the no hassle system in LE is a nice breath of fresh air in comparison to PoE's mapping system which requires so much preparation (mostly including trading). This video's goal is not to trigger you, but to rather express that not having to do 1h of trading before and 3h of trading after your mapping session is a breath of fresh air. At it's current state LE is more so an equivalent of PoE's Delve with a little extra content on top. Don't take this video seriously if you get offended by it, this is in no way a disrespect to any of the 2 games. Love you all :)

      As someone thats playing both, no. You get tired of the monolith system after a day or two. What really lacks for me is currency, currency has no real impact like in POE where its both for trade and crafting. In POE you keep grinding cause you want more currency. In LE, its just... hope for an item to drop while increasing corruption.
      But im very optimistic about the future when they start adding cycle content, expand monoliths, add pinnacle content etc.

      Title is farming clicks. You are not forced to do anything in end game of poe besides using alchemy orb on a map. If you want to juice hard, that's on you. I don't juice over chisels, alchs, vaals, random sextants and scarabs, pretty effortless. 1 hour of prep for a month of grind isn't much to ask after 12k+ hours. If you are playing mf and taking hours out of the day to farm half a day it's on you. Play for fun, not like a gold farmer. LE endgame is snooze, but atleast it's not rando insta deaths like poe.

      noones mishearing you dude, you just said something completely retarded. Moneliths get old pretty fast, and end game is PoEs best aspect of the game. Now i Know you wanted to make a controversal title to get views, but things you say mean something.

      Don't make clown takes with laughable titles, and you will not need to made "damage control" comments, to say "that's not what I wanted to say". Rather simple, really.

    I think it feels better because there is less impediment to doing the next monolith vs the next map. You don't have to roll maps, consider scarabs/fragments/etc or go run a temple or a safehouse or delve or whatever.
    You can get somewhat the same experience by pre-rolling a bunch of maps in PoE, but that still requires a bunch of setup, and especially early league when you are pushing the atlas you cannot do this because you need to adapt to what drops before you can set up your farming strat.
    In LE I want to do monolith after monolith because its just so hassle free. I hope any content they add they don't add too much hassle to process.
    I agree that the rewards known beforehand helps, but for me that is not the motivator, it's the low barrier to entry for each run that really gets me to keep running run after run without breaks.
    Another hassle reduction is that there is no load screens between monoliths, you stay in the same "instance." This means that you suffer much fewer natural breaks in the gameplay, the whole monolith experience push you to do one more. This means I usually only stop a gameplay session after I kill a boss and/or reset the echo web. This is also when I pick up new CoF prophecies or run a dungeon or arena.
    Speaking of trade, that is another thing which throws me out of mapping in PoE. Since I don't have a dedicated trader to sell for me, if I want to be making currency I have to disrupt my grind for selling stuff all the time. Sometimes I don't start maps because I know I have a bunch of high demand items posted which I predict will sell like hotcakes and I know it's pointless to enter a map just to have to leave it, and then I end up with a long period of sitting around and losing the desire to actually start mapping.

    At its very core I can agree. Comparing mapping 1 to 1 to monoliths, Last Epoch does have the more interesting "mapping" progression by a good margin. It's just that PoE added so much extra stuff to it over the years that ties in to mapping that PoE ends up coming out ahead in the big picture. Worthy of mentioning though is that Last Epoch made me actually believe Chris now when he says picked-up items being mandatory for progression even in lategame can make the game better. I was stubborn on the subject because I loved handcrafted items so much that I didn't believe dropped items could be properly integrated, but Last Epoch deadass proved me wrong on the topic and I'm there for it. I also think Last Epoch has a vastly superior SSF mode, being a lone wolf player with friends too addicted to WoW or CoD to bother with ARPGs I truly do appreciate the extra effort they put in there. So end of the day I'm really interested to see what LE cycles will look like and what the game itself is going to be looking like 16-20 cycles in, which was roughly the time PoE started becoming more popular.

    In my opinion le's endgame has too little diversity so far, but to be fair, Poe had a little more time adding and tweaking it.
    For the campaign I have to say, I like le early more, but as soon as your build starts to be put together, Poe outpaces le by a lot and I enjoy the zoom zoom.
    Also, as a grind goal legendaries are a five head move from le.

    Honeymoon period is a real thing. As well executed as the monoliths are especially for launch, it's 1000% nowhere near the level of depths and actually well thought out PoE's endgame content is, from how finely tuned you can adjust the level of each mechanics you want to engage in, customize how each mechanics work and scale with the atlas passives, and then the sheer variety of endgame mechanics both in and out of maps, each with varying special rewards that can improve your character builds in meaningful ways or has different gameplay. There is simply zero comparison. The main reason why monoliths in LE feels so fun right now is because it is good, and especially it is new. When you play a game like PoE for so long, a lot of lustre is lost. It's not as exciting doing the same stuffs that you have done many times already. All that said could LE have a better overall endgame experience than PoE in the future? Sure. Now? Hell no. I can write an thesis on the masterpiece that is PoE endgame, just the atlas passives alone has enough content to fill an essay and various strategies players can take and customize to build their gameplay experience and what type of gameplay content and rewards they are going after.

    Great take! You don't find too many POE players willing to discuss the bad parts of POE. IMO, Last Epoch has gone the opposite direction of POE in making a game that is fun and beginner/casual friendly. I hope that never changes. Far too many POE content creators' comment on what LE is missing that POE has. Since I am a semi-casual player, I don't want LE doing anything that POE does. POE is for the streamers and no-lifers...LE is for the rest of us, and doing what many POE content creators suggest would change that. I consider POE as a hostile game for casual players. We are not even playing the same game that the streamers are. The 3.15 player power nerf ended my enjoyment of POE. I hope POE2 is better for casuals, but in the meantime, LE is a game that scratches all the itches for an ARPG game.

    • @NATIK001
      @NATIK001 6 месяцев назад

      I've played PoE since the end of Alpha over a decade ago and I cannot call myself a casual given multiple level 100 chars and 40/40 leagues. However I agree with you 100%.
      I want LE to continue with the current approach of interesting but easy and well explained systems. You don't need the opaqueness and over the top complexity of PoE's mechanics to have an interesting and engaging gameplay loop. I absolutely adore that LE mechanics does what it says on the tin and are generally well explained in the game guide or tooltips. PoE is a mess of hidden mechanics and obscure and arcane knowledge which only feels natural to veterans and diehards.
      I hope anything they add to LE in the future maintains the same clarity and complexity as the base game, because it is honestly perfect for me as a relaxing but engaging ARPG experience. PoE is rarely very relaxing, and there aren't really any other super engaging modern ARPGs out there than PoE and LE atm IMO.

    You gush about LE's endgame but don't even mention that the "wave-based" monoliths are trash. The monsters spawn very slowly. Aren't very threatening or interesting. The people running LE's endgame choose to skip them because you can do 2-3 monoliths in the same time you can clear one wave-based one.

    I think LE endgame is fun for like 100-200h ...pushed a hc char to lvl 100 with 60% level bar to "101" lvl 10 cof and its just about finding 2-3 better lp uniques. i think in sc this point will arrive even faster. nearly all crafting materials getting meaningless even after 50h thats another weak point. for me its diablo as it should be, but you cant really compare it to poe...its like 5% of content and 1% of depth.

    I agree, more competition in the ARPG arena is only good for all of us fans. I have played POE since it was in open beta back in like 2011 when there was only 2 acts. I think POE is number 1 like you, but it took many years to get there. LE is the best ARPG game ever if you compare to others at launch, its not POE yet, and POE 2.0 is going to be so fun. But I am very excited about LE as well. I am however losing hope that D4 will ever be for me...

  • @truedps8
    @truedps8 6 месяцев назад

    Eh no, the investment of PoE's maps is what makes it great. Monoliths have nothing significant behind them, you just mindlessly go through them without a thought in the world. Monoliths are inherently flawed, and LE's endgame system is going to need vast rework to make it compelling. Especially the period after you are done getting your blessings, there is just fuck all to care about with Monoliths. In PoE you drop your maps, you invest currency into them, you pay attention to the modifiers and the type of map it is. There are a lot of choices and things you take into account in PoE's endgame system. LE lacks all of that. It's why people tend to get to around level 90 then stop playing their character. That is the point where Monoliths become mindlessly boring.
    That said PoE has a decade of development behind them, but it has almost always had the foundation of it's mapping system. LE's system is inherently flawed and will require vast changes to get it to be in a enjoyable spot.

      Everyone gushes about LE's systems but all LE has done is make it trivial to get to the end game and then speed run to the very "hardest" content the game has to offer; of course people will love a game which doesn't "waste your time" but that also means the game will be a candle in the wind
      future leagues will have to be very dense in content somehow to fix the current state of the endgame

    The amount of hyperbolic praise for LE is really confusing me. I get the honeymoon phase. People are SICK of some of POE's annoying design choices (on-death spam from arch nem; arch nem sucking).
    But LE is an extremely basic game with EXTREMELY basic combat. POE's combat is (largely) better.
    I shoot a fireball in LE and it just phases through the level. Doesn't even collide with the boundary walls of a room. The hell? Combat just feels super whatever. It's POE but without the zoom or the SFX. The rares are even less threatening. It's delve but not as "scary" as delve can actually be sometimes.

      I have delved to 6k+ two separate leagues during the 2.13 fractured fossils. I get you, but it's not hyperbolic praise. It's just copium that we can potentially have another RPG that we can ALSO play alongside PoE and finally QoL gatekeeping can be held accountable for. I've played this game through several atlas systems, I've traded extensively, I've pushed most leagues mechanics pretty much to their maximum. Trust me all this LE praise will only make PoE better for us.
