Nintendo Power Star Fox 64 Promotional VHS June 1997

  • This is the rare Star Fox 64 Promo VHS tape,
On occasion, many subscribers of Nintendo Power magazine, along with game console owners who registered their consoles, received VHS tapes promoting the Nintendo 64 and games such as Donkey Kong Country, Star Fox 64, Diddy Kong Racing, Banjo-Kazooie, and Pokémon. One of the tapes covered both Donkey Kong 64 and Jet Force Gemini. Some of the tapes featured "hidden" previews at the end after the credits.
The practice has ceased with the availability of DVDs and online video. Nintendo Power included one bonus DVD in the August 2005 (v. 194) issue, featuring videos for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Nintendogs, and other games.

This song played in the LOUD HOUSE episode entitled "Sleuth Or Consequences" from Season 1 in early 2016. It played in the scene where Lisa was showing her files to the Loud children. It also played when Lincoln was acting like his favorite superhero whose name was Ace Savvy. It also played throughout the episode such as when they were investigating who caused a clog in the toilet. It also played briefly in the episode "Dance Dance Resolution" when Lincoln faces the music with Ronnie-Anne.
This song is usually used in scenes of suspense/confession/accusation during the television series. After being used in Season 1 it was no longer used. It had also been taken out of the APM library.

I always loved how Sega was the big dumb guy and Sony was the little wise guy.

Ridgeway Films made a parody of this for Starfox 64 3D for the 3DS if you want to see a modern take on this promo.

Everyone one I knew loved this video. Even my mother, father, and grandmother thought it was funny in 1997

At the pinnacle of my Nintendo fanboyism. Would watch this and the other videos several times a day until game was released.

They even had Mundial Ronahldino Soccer 64, poor Sega couldn't keep up.

Whenever I hear Sony fanboys losing their minds over the controller gimmicks in the Dual Sense, I always think of this video.

Who would have thought that that short test clip of "Zelda 64" at the end of the previews would turn into the most successful game for the system. Do they have a really corny commercial like this for Ocarina of Time?

it's quite humorous and not nearly as shame-inducing as other promos. I actually laughed with the SEGA dude's "I'm on it" and "mih mih mih mih mih" (can't come up with the right transliteration) response he gives to "we have a lot of games coming out" xD.
