    • @blackjac5000
      @blackjac5000 9 месяцев назад +1

      Tommy exists because there was no one cop at every single stage of the investigation and they didn't want to ascribe the actions of one real person to another. For example, he was a stand-in for Danny Keeler at the finish line.

    The only unfortunate thing was an officer was hit in the crossfire by one of his own, and ended up dying (I want to say roughly a year later) due to his injuries. If I'm not mistaken this is actually shown in the movie. While I commend the bravery of the department in helping kill at least one of the brothers, this stresses the importance of training, given that they even said none of the officers involved had ever even had to fire their weapons in the line of duty.

    • @easternshore27
      @easternshore27 Год назад +5

      The officer that they refer to as "Donnie" towards the end of the shootout is the one who was hit by friendly fire in the confusion, he *almost* died due to his horrible leg injury but fully recovered and is now a retired police officer. There was another young officer named Dennis Simmonds who was injured by the bombs the brothers threw during their stand-off with police in Watertown. He's the one who tragically died from complications from his injuries a year later when he had an aneurysm. Both situations are tragic regardless, but the officer injured by one of his own is alive and well!

I applied to work on the movie; the line was literally a quarter-mile long, and I know that because I had to walk it after having to move my car. After seeing it in the theater I went to the restaurant where they said the cameras were that caught them; it's now a Santander Bank branch.
