I hope this the first and last Opening Round
I think splitting the first round makes sense. Give every team a primetime slot for their first game.
It's not a split round though. The teams playing this weekend play next weekend in round one. It's a really pretty ridiculous and sorta unfair start to the season.
@@_suse_ Yeah, I know. I am saying they should split the first round. You could have the bottom 10 teams play 5 games the first weekend, and the top 8 play the second weekend.

I just think it kinda sucks that only eight teams are playing this weekend. No Richmond Carlton belter to start the year for a start.
The matchups are all good though, can't disagree there. Reckon GC are going to smash the Tigers in a Round One upset, Swannies, Lions and Pies to win the other three under five goals.

This is sacrilege I know but for all the reasons you said Melbourne could trouble us Riles, I have tipped Melbourne. If Parker and Patch weren't out, I'd have gone Swans. Of course, I want this tip to be wrong!😅
Hopefully mate haha, it's a fair enough tip was close with tipping them as well. Under the bright lights and it being the start of the season I think we turn up.

Even with every fan of my Blues being as bullish as possible (including myself), I will admit Brisbane at the Gabba with no Sam Walsh, Jacob Weitering or Jack Silvagni is a bit too much of an ask. We won't get slaughtered, but we won't win either. Brisbane by ~12 points
