HAIR OF THE ARABS VS HAIR OF THE AJAM
The hair type of an individual can usually indicate which race a person is. According to the Arab scholars of the past, this was one of the factors that drew apart the Arab and non Arab race.
Ibn Qutaibah Ibn Jawaaliqy the author of Sharh Adab Al Kitaab said, ” Kinky/wooly hair is from the Arabs and lank/straight hair is from the Ajam. … lank/ straight hair is most prevalent amongst the non Arabs of Rome and Faaris(Persia) and kinky / wooly hair is most prevalent amongst the Arabs.”

There are different types of black groups and Zanj is definitely not the correct term for the translation "Negro". This just perpetuates the misconceptions.

Maa shaa Allah the brother did a good job and perhaps pressure didn't allow him to explain things properly or maybe he just isn't sure yet but the Arabs were definitely a black race . Udmah means dark brown to jet black .Dancing around the terms doesn't help .
The great scholar Al Thaa’labi said in his book Fiqqatu Luggha wa Al Arabiyyah,Page 348.
”The colour Adam is black(ness) in humans and white(ness)in camels.”
Then you have the term Shadeed Al Udmah which means jet black!
Ibn Sakeet tell us in his book Kitaab Al Al Faadh ( pages 152-153 ) that
''They say from the black men he is As Shadeed Al Udmah and from them is the Adlam and he is As Shadeed Al Udmah''
Imaam Al Alaamah Al Dhahabi clears this up too in his book Seera A’laam Al Nubalaa Chapter 2 page 168
‘They say Aswad (jet black) and this means whoever is covered in blackness. They say (jet )black or Shadeed Al Udmah.”
    alajamwalarab.com/index.php/adam/
The Arabs were proud of their blackness and would discriminate amongst themselves and others according to tribes and NOT COLOUR and since the Arabs were jet black and other hues of brown this meant that they shared the same skin tones as the Abyssinians .
And Ibn Yaeesh mention in his book Sharh Al Mufassal page 48
The meaning of Al Aswad is because the majority of ( the Arabs ) are brown and jet black in colour

Moses alayhi as salaam was Jet black too
Read the following about Moses who was also mentioned in the Quran.
“Put your hand into the pocket of your garment, and it will come out white without disease
The miracle here was that he was black and his hand turned white.(Quran 28:32)
To further back this claim up about his complexion is in various narrations but here is one for you :
In Musnad Ahmed Ibn Habal , Chapter 50 page 488
The Messenger of Allah may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him said, And the description of Moses may peace be upon him : '' And I saw Moses intensely black skinned''
The words used here are Asham Adam which in another example which shows us how Adam and intense blackness are related.

Here is an example of what the arabs used to say . Not the Prophet Mohammed!
Yaa son of a red woman
Ibn Atheer narrates in his book Al Niyaahyah Fee Ghareeb Al Hadeeth Wal Athar Chapter 1 Page 440
''And in the hadeeth Ali .. A man from the Mawaali opposed him so Ali said , '' Shut up you son of a red Ijaan '' ,meaning son of a slave woman. The Al Ijaan is the area between the anus and the scrotum or vulva'' and this is the way the Arabs talk when being derogatory and insulting’'
Imam Ala Dhahabi didn't only say wheat colour but he said wheat colour with a visible blackness. In other words, a wheatish complexion with a black tint which equals to darker than wheat itself . You (Dr) could pass for this yourself..
In Seera A'laam Al Nubalaa, Imaam Al Dhahabi , said''If the Arab said someone is white, they mean that he is a wheatish colour with a b that can be seen’'.
"إن العرب إذا قالت: فلان أبيض ، فإنهم يريدون الحنطي اللون بحلية سوداء’'
Al Thaa'lab is quoted in Lisan Al Arab, he said,
'' The Arabs do not say a man is white to mean that he is white in colour. It is only said to mean that the person is pure and free from any defects.''
''العرب لا تقول : رجل أبيض من بياض اللون إنما الأبيض عندهم الطاهر النقي من العيوب''

@@ahmaddeedatibrahim6631 Salam, there actually is no Hadith that describes Prophet Muhammed PBUH as “Fair”. Well, it does but we have to look at how the Arabic Language was used by the Ancient Arabs. In the majority of Hadiths is he described with the Term “Abyad”. In the Arabic Language does this indeed mean White HOWEVER it’s not the White we think about today. The Term “Ahmar” (Red) was used for Fairskinned people just as there is a Hadith which says “I was sent to the Red and Black”.
Al Dhahabi (b.1274 CE) said in his Book Seera A’laam Al Nubalaa: Chapter 2, page 168
