To anyone trying to make an Individual seller account and it states it will charge you the professional fee. Here is the solution from Amazon:
In order to keep the email address that you initially used to register, you have to complete the registration for a Professional Seller account. While registering, you will be charged an initial subscription fee of $39.99. However, once the enrollment is completed, we can refund this amount to your Seller account balance.
Once you have finished setting up your account, downgrade your account to the Individual selling plan by following the steps outlined in the following help page: -referral help link-

Hello, I signed up as individual seller and when I click next in the credit card info I get a warning that amazon will charge me 39.99$. I am pretty sure I clicked on individual seller and I checked that twice.

Hi, this video like all other videos doesn't explain how to set up a seller account, where you won't be charged the £30 monthly fee. Amazon advertised that an individual seller, will only be charged a percentage per item, but during the setup process, there is no option to choose this.

Hey @mohan! Yes, it is possible to sell on Amazon without a credit card. When setting up your Amazon seller account, you will be asked to provide a valid bank account and routing number for receiving payments. You can also use a prepaid debit card or gift card to make purchases and pay any fees associated with selling on Amazon.
So correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like Amazon Seller will charge you $39.99 regardless of the plan you choose (Individual or Professional), but after your first bill you can downgrade yourself. So what's the point in having an individual plan on the startup if it's going to bill you on the professional fee amount until you manually change it? Seems very nefarious.

This video is definitely for professional account. Once you hit the first "Sign up" button you are heading for professional account regardless of whether you select individual while filling in the info or not. The real individual plan is cleverly hidden at the very bottom of the page. It reads " Just have a few items to sell?Sign up to become an individual seller". Follow the process from there and you will be fine.
yup happened to me TWICE- i was told by amazon i have to set up an professional account then switch to individual account and i would get the $39.99 back. well never happened i had no choice but to start the professioinal account and was charged and never got a refund then my account was never changed to individual seller- i ended up setting up a etsy acct way easier and no charges at all.
terrible. Like the most complicated thing about this is the UPC question. You didn't explain anything about it. You tell people to put NO but yours is YES. 0 out of 10 stars. Waste of time

Hi @William Van pembroke . Hope you're doing well! If you are unable to open US account, there are many third party accounts you can create and convert USD to Francs.
It is not as easy as she makes it sound like - Amazon will make you go through hell , no help available for first time Amazon seller plus asking you the same question over and over - send the same photos over and over they assure you that you are good to go now you can start selling when you enter all those unnecessary information for your product it shows error same error you spoke with 100 reps and was told it is resolved lol

A hard question. I, by mistake, started creating account on professional seller link instead of starting with individual account link. However before I finished the set up I got aware of my mistake and stopped there. Actually where it ask for business location and business type is where I stopped (just the beginning) but my e-mail is already in the system as on the way for a professional account. What should I do to reverse that? Should I start over from creating individual account with the same e-mail? Would that work and if so would that flag my account since I started as professional. I read a book which is teach me how to become an amazon seller, and it`s says to register for an individual seller, and it is also says when I register for individual account I don`t have to pay the $39.99 fee until I determining my first product. Hey Krisztina, yes you don't have to pay the $39.99 monthly selling fee as an individual seller, but you do have to pay $0.99 selling fee per each item sold, and any additional selling fees/FBA fees etc. For that Amazon requires your credit card information. Hope it helps!✨

I cannot sign up as an individual seller on Amazon seller Central from Hong Kong. The option doesn't exist in the drop down on the sign up page. Does anyone know if this is an error or some countries/places simply cannot? I tried to email Amazon to ask but its an automated response stating they cannot help since I am not a seller (ironic)

OK, I'm at the point of verifying my address. I have re received the post card with the verification code. It tells me to log into the seller central and enter the code but there is no where on the screen to enter the code. I have twice sent a help email request to support and only received an auto response email which is no help. Has anyone else gone thru this? If so, how did you resolve this issue. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Amazon takes 1 day to 30 days to activate the new account. Did you receive any feedback from the Seller central support team?

In my country(Lebanon) they stopped giving credit cards, so can my professional account be accepted if I am using a debit card instead(visa or master card)? If not, can I use the credit card of someone else living in another country so the owner of the card will not be the same as the owner of the account, can this be accepted? @@SellerApp No it will not work. Once have started filling out the form. It locks it in on the website as a professional. You cannot start over unless you use a different email. Or sign up as a professional then reconfigure your account.

Hi. I am from Malaysia. I wanted to try to sell my product only in Amazon UK without any upfront fee. But from your video, I noticed there will be upfront fee being charged. As i read to some articles, no fee incurred until the item is sold. Kindly assist especially on the registration part. Meanwhile, I have done a mistake by choosing a business plan instead of individual plan upfront, and now im not able to go back to set this up. Forever stuck in the billing section. Many comments here stating about the upfront charges upon registration. This is so contradicting based on spoken info vs published info. Please clarify. Thanks.

Hi Dan, if you choose the "Individual" selling plan, there will be no upfront costs - you just need to pay $0.99 per items sold. However, this plan applies to you only if you sell fewer than 40 units a month. To anyone trying to make an Individual seller account and it states it will charge you the professional fee. Here is the solution from Amazon:
In order to keep the email address that you initially used to register, you have to complete the registration for a Professional Seller account. While registering, you will be charged an initial subscription fee of $39.99. However, once the enrollment is completed, we can refund this amount to your Seller account balance.
Once you have finished setting up your account, downgrade your account to the Individual selling plan by following the steps outlined in the following help page: ref
