What words and symbols should you look for when you want to know if something is compostable??

There are some key phrases, words and symbols to look for when trying to figure out if something is compostable.
There is so much greenwashing out there, please watch out for the phonies! Everyday we find items that are labeled in ways to confuse people and trick them into thinking the item they have is compostable when it isn't.
