  • This is within Indianapolis' large Crown Hill Cemetery, as it is Section 10 (1.4 acres) in that cemetery. More than 2,100 Union interments are there, and near or in the cemetery are two notables (whose graves I visit): Oliver P. Morton (Governor of Indiana who led the state throughout the Civil War years) and Union Maj. Gen. Edward Canby. I also visit the Women's Relief Corps Monument which was placed on Memorial Day 1889.
The cemetery is managed by Marion National Cemetery.

Jason, this is great coverage and nice weather. For such an early cemetary it is in great condition, thanks to the National Cemetery Act. Many private cemeteries from the mid 1800's are hardly recognizable.
