Fun game to watch. Iowa grad here (went there for 4 years of cheap season tix and a math degree I'm paying down). Bowl games are a blast when they're between two defensive teams because the offenses have a month to find nooks against the opponent's defense. Iowa caught MSU in a couple aggressive blown coverages and beat them on some middle outs with a variety of guys. MSU used the extra blocker you get when your QB is your main running back and pounded Iowa's defense into a few play action mishaps and a few misdirection misses which resulted in long gains. The game was field position, sacks, turnovers, and big plays. That's awesome football to watch.

I’m pretty unbiased and am the first to admit a fair and square loss, but MSU gave Iowa damn near EVERYTHING, I wasn’t surprised at MSU’s defensive performance because they had the 3rd best defense in the nation behind Clemson and Bama coming into the game. I would’ve been ok if both teams played a perfect game and Iowa came out with the win, but this is very frustrating. Pretty much summed up MSU’s season

I’m pretty unbiased and am the first to admit a fair and square loss, but MSU gave Iowa damn near EVERYTHING, I wasn’t surprised at MSU’s defensive performance because they had the 3rd best defense in the nation behind Clemson and Bama coming into the game. I would’ve been ok if both teams played a perfect game and Iowa came out with the win, but this is very frustrating. Pretty much summed up MSU’s season
