Completely agree about changing names. As a Venetia stan, the French names are endless! The other thing is that it hampers people's relationship with the horse. It's much easier to have affection for a horse called Best Mate or Desert Orchid than it is Al Boum Photo or Galopin Des Champs.

I have Lossiemouth rating 170PLUS after her performance last jan at cheltenham. 4 weeks earlier Constitution hill beat Rubaud and first street real easy but i couldnt believe the way Lossiemouth beat them and also the 2nd Love Envoi who was close 2nd to honeysuckle months earlier. Prob is if Lossiemouth wins it will be not same Constitution etc. imo i think Lossiemouth is the best 2 mile mare ive ever seen. Alot of Flat speed in her pedigree. Her one flaw is she can pull too hard. Otherwise i think she has even a superior gear change to any other hurdler
If anyone wants a sob story from last week, go look at Dylan Johnston’s ride on Double Powerful. Talk about having a Ferrari under you against a fleet of Vauxhall Astra’s. I was on to a packet, how he got it beat I’ll never know 😅

Was told last year that he wouldn’t do much over hurdles but as soon as he goes chasing hit him big. Wasn’t looking likely throughout the race, one of Ben Jones better rides.
