I love how when Johnny has a strong opinion, he isn't afraid to spell it out. So many people sit on the fence and um and ah, but not our JD! Now, he may end up looking like a genius or a fool after Constitution Hill and Ballyburn run, but at least he's not afraid to express his own view. Good on you Johnny!!
A couple of 'laugh out loud' moments, on this week's show 😂😂😂 These two should definitely do something else, when the series ends Jango Baie has good form on really bad ground and he jumped like a stag, on his debut, over fences. Good thing in the Scilly Isles 👍 Kopek Des Bordes' jumping, was a bit 'iffy', at Leopardstown. Very tempted to lay him, on Sunday
I only had a double rolling on to Annie Power, but I also had a fairly big bet on Polly Peachum without the favourite. She was beaten a short head by Glens Melody. Tough scene.
i would have the first 2 reversed and the 3rd and 4th reversed...i think CH only has lossiemouth to beat......sir gino i think will win but it is a novice chase.........think the champion chase is weak and i would want to see what happens in ireland with lulamba
Johnnies answer re trainer fees and their replies to questions was spot on. Paying for pointless soundbites doesn't make sense, esp when you would think trainers would be jumping at the chance of some TV coverage/self advertising. Maybe I am missing an obvious point, but this seems a reaction to the money that came in for jockeys recently??
The trainers should be paying the broadcasters for giving them air time and the chance to promote their business if they come across well. Agree with Johnny about the flat - I don't touch sprints, they are bookies benefits when you take into account, draw and pace bias, plus the inconsistency of just about every horse that runs in them.
Think everyone who punts remembers where they were when Annie Power fell. I was on the multiple going for 4 of 4. Had them all in a Yankee too so broke even but, like the lads, the bookies was so eerie. Silent. Twas absolute madness
DJ/JD...Imagine...2 out in the CH. Constitution Hill is lobbing alongside Anzudam. 2 lengths behind are Lossiemouth and Brighterdaysahead...the going is good to soft and all travelling well. Jockeys push the button...who quickens up the best??

As regards to the juveniles. Not sure what JD is talking about as regards to Lady Vaga Island. Direct quote from Willie below. Willie Mullins on LADY VEGA ALLEN, per @ToteRacing: "I think she could go all the way to the top. "We saw Nicky Henderson's horse Lulamba winning very impressively in Ascot - I think with a seven-pound allowance this filly could get into that area."
Dave wants to know how do we know Constitution Hill is not the horse he was. Well, we'd be looking at the evidence, his performances on the track. From March 22 to March 23 his four rpr's were 174 174 175 177. His four runs since then have produced rpr's of 167 158 162 150. How could anyone look at those figures and say that he's the same horse. We'd all LIKE him to be the same horse because, yeah, he was maybe the best ever, but there is zero evidence for it, unless you count Nicky saying that everything is wonderful .... after the colic and the wind op.
@Pmrace1960 Rpr's don't change, they're just one-off assessments of how a horse performed in an individual race. I presume you're talking about actual handicap marks, and yes they can change throughout a horses's career. I don't know who's going to win the Champion Hurdle. I think Constituton Hill is the right favourite, but still the horse he was ? There's no evidence of that.
I agree. He doesn’t look the same horse to me. Lossiemouth didn’t run her race and Mullins wasn’t firing at the time and I don’t think CH was utterly convincing on Saturday either
Is it not as simple as the Champ Hurdle will be the first time we will find out if CH is the horse he still was? The other runs have been after long layoffs when clearly not race fit and at the weekend he surely didn’t have to perform at anymore than 65/70% of what he’s capable of?
@@dnhcraftcocktails1068 Yes, we should find out in March, but at his best he was at a freakish level, and after colic, a wind op and a year's layoff I think the expectation should be that he won't get back to that level, until he shows us otherwise, and so far he hasn't.
