Karen argues with server over menu prices 😑

- Karen thinks that she can set her own prices. As if the menu prices are negotiable. 🙄 the manager did come over to her table and would not lower the price. She ended up ordering salmon and complained about everything and that price too. #serverlife #story #restaurant #server #karen #funny #bartender #storytime #skit
Going to a high end restaurant and treating it like a garage sale barter really demonstrates the level of class some folks have.
The class of the rich people in Atlanta is an oxymoron it seems
@@Stephaniecarlisle0529 Anyone can have class, but rich people are less likely to have it.
"Have the day you deserve"😆😆
😂😂
Yeah, that's right up there with "Bless your heart," from the context.
@@chriscooper654 yessss 😂
@@Stephaniecarlisle0529The only way to negotiate with a restaurant is to not go there.
Apparently, this Karen thinks she is on the street where she can haggle pricing. If she wants to pay $22.00, then she should go to Red Lobster. 😂
Exactly. Go to the place that has the prices you want.
Probably not the price she wanted to pay even at Red Lobster. Seafood has gotten very expensive everywhere!
How is she not embarrassed at her own behavior?! And I totally agree, she was definitely not someone you would want to have as a customer, because she would nickel and dime everything. Literally more trouble than she was worth.
She would have complained about everything I’m sure
See, that's when you kick in with the super-hoity-toity, “If madame is unable to afford the cuisine here, perhaps madame would be better served... _elsewhere?_ There is a (cough) Captain D’s in the vicinity.”
😂😂😂
The fact that people think they can set the price or what is offered. Is insane. If you are so worried about the price then stay at home and make things yourself.
I totally agree with that.
People forget, you're not just paying for the food. You're paying for the rent/mortgage, the utilities (gas/elec/garbage), the payroll, the building insurance, the workman's comp insurance, Federal Taxes, State Taxes, covering for spoilage, covering for picky customers returning food, covering for repairs to building, repairs to equipment, purchase/rent of equipment, grounds care, TV/entertainment/wi-fi/internet, and probably a few more things I forget offhand.
You covered most of them 😂
Excellent point. Restaurants have substantial overheads; hence why tipping is so essential to a server's income.
@@chriscooper654 Chris I’m putting you on the payroll 😂
@@Stephaniecarlisle0529Great! The prices go up again! 😅
When it comes to expensive dining in NYC, we have a saying, "With their high prices, I guess we are paying their rent, gas, electric & water bill." 😅
"I only want to pay $20 for scallops?" "Then feel free to dumpster dive for them. That's the only way you're getting them cheaper."
😂😂😂😂 best response every 👏
This is a restaurant not a garage sale. Years ago a friend had a garage sale... Everything .25¢. Someone came in saying they would only pay a dime. ☹️ The nerve.
Audacity of some people must be on sale near by
People who want to haggle over menu prices have no business going to a high end restaurant. If they don't want to pay the prices that are listed, they should go somewhere that is more compatible with what they want to pay. Don't discount anything for them.
I knew if I ordered those scallops for her she would try to say they were bad or something so she wouldn’t have to pay full price for them. I wasn’t going for it
@@Stephaniecarlisle0529 Absolutely, she would pull something off to get her own way.
I look forward to seeing your videos every day, thanks for sharing.
Glad you like them!
Me too!
Our prices are 29-50$ per entree. People have not argued price, but occasionally they will not stay once they see the prices. The great thing is, the food is amazingly good, afterwards guests are always happy and wanting to return.
I can even deal with sub par service if the food is really good 😊
29-50$ just for the appetiser? What are you charging for the piece de résistance? Colour me surprised...
@@tillposer entree price is 29-50$. Apps are 10-29$.

I should have. That would have really made her mad
@@Stephaniecarlisle0529 Yes, please don't forget that! It would surely piss her off!
Once again Ms. Stephanie, you rock. If you want bargain food and bargain prices, go to a bargain restaurant!! When my wife and I go out, it's to have a good time and enjoy the ambiance, service, and specialties of the house, if we can't afford it we stay home!

Haggling....at a restaurant!!!!
"Try getting your scallops at Long John Silvers"
I will go to higher end restaurants to avoid people like that....well try to avoid people like that.
I was told once " if you have to ask what the market price is you can't afford it"
I don't know how you do it, but bless you and your perseverance!
@@chriswright6425 I wish I could tell a customer of you have to ask you can’t afford it.

Every once in a while I'll get the lobster.....and cross my fingers it doesn't hurt to bad.
@@chriswright6425 😂😂😂😂😂
Very few people understand that restaurants (except for alcohol sales) have a profit margin of 10%. Oftentimes the owner gets paid when the business is sold. Seafood has a chain of custody that ensures quality and food safety. Ask if she has scuba equipment and whether she is ready to harvest scallops for herself.
😂😂😂😂 she probably has people for that
How long can you tread water?
I love scallops but like everything else the price has skyrocketed! There is a restaurant near us where I get great ones, but we did t go there this year for my birthday - just went to another low key restaurant t and I had fish and chips! Still a great day!!! This lady needs to grow up!!!
She was acting like a 10 year old
Haggling is something you *might* get away with at a garage sale or swap meet. Anyplace that actually has machine-printed menus and price tags? Not so much, Karen.
@@chriscooper654 I need you for security at this restaurant 😂
People don't understand that private businesses absolutely have the right to refuse service.
Do these customers live under a rock? Holy Moly!
Also first comment!! 🎉
Yayyyy!!! I see you 👀 😂
You don't get to set the price buy them and mke them yourself
Hahaha, I've seen people like this in restaurants, and it's hilarious. As Sassy said, if you don't like the price, get something else. Easy Peasy
"Ok, here are your scallops, and here is a contract that we need you to sign before you begin eating that states that you promise to pay the full amount due of $48 for said scallops before you leave, and not a penny less."
Because you know she would have complained saying something was wrong with them 🙄
@@Stephaniecarlisle0529 Well, how else is she supposed to get them for free without going to jail? 😂
@@m0L3ify 😂😂😂😂😂
I didn’t know restaurants will haggle over their prices, Mrs. Customer. You do know you went into a high end restaurant which will have high prices?
Our prices are high I will admit that but they are clearly listed
"I only wanna pay like $22" OK Karen I hope you own a fishing boat.
Another Karen McAsshat? Hahaha. Seriously tho folks, if you don't like the prices get something else, or go somewhere else. If you want to haggle prices freestanding restaurants are not the place to do it.
Btw...just subscribed!
@@radolfkalis4041 yayyyy thank you so much 😊. I really appreciate you !
I just checked. If you're able to get them overnighted to you, scallops are going for $25 per pound from a supplier on the coast. To get top of the line scallops, you'd pay more.
Considering that a dish of 1/2 pound of scallops comes to you cooked, plus with all sorts of sides, and you have to pay a percantage of all kinds of other bills (which is why restaurant prices are higher than just buying the stuff at he grocery store), $48 for a 1/2 pound scallop dinner isn't at all bad.
Heck, that's cheaper than I expected.
Ms. Thang really needed to be called out for her foolishness. All the info she was wanting is available online, if she's *that* mad, and you are under no obligation to give her any information about anyone for any reason.
I am so thankful you were able/willing to refuse her service. She would have caused three kinds of a stink if allowed to eat there. And she'd have come back and brought friends.
@@goldengryphon there’s definitely more of her kind. 😢

Good grief. Get over yourself.... I hate people like that. As if you or the owner or chef have any say on price of "fresh seafood".
Thank you! 🙏
Hell it’s 22 dollars to buy them frozen in the grocery store
Thank you. and they’re tiny aren’t they?

Also, the idea that 48 dollar scallops is barely making a profit is asinine. But I like the used car lot approach.
How much do you think we get scallops for?
@@Stephaniecarlisle0529 Not 40+ dollars. If scallops cost restaurants that much, every restaurant would be selling them for 48. It's not a secret that high end restaurants have significantly higher markups for food.
@@chriswright7259 Every restaurant? Really? I mean, I have been to some pretty low-rent seafood restaurants with great scallops, but pricing has to include rent, insurance, labor, property taxes, ambiance, all of it. For seafood, I'm guessing pricing also includes paying suppliers extra for first/best picks, etc. Personally, I'd price them at 48 just to keep the Karens out of the joint.
No offense….but I would never pay the inflated prices at these high end restaurants… high end does not mean better….. would prefer to cook my self at 1/3 or 1/4 the cost.
Have some class or stay the F… home !

"$48 for scallops is frickin insane" Get them from the fucking supermarket then, doesn't cost anywhere near that much there. Shit like this is why I don't go to restaurants.
