Is there a way to calculate surface area of a selected surface without comparing it to another surface? Basically I created a TIN surface of off stakes with design elevations and I'd like to be able to calculate the surface area so I can order matting to put on the slopes.
Never mind, I actually just figured it out lol Thanks for the vids though, you've been helping me more than you know with creating my own file for quick jobs!
Can you do a video to calculate volume on uneven surfaces? I auto topo around the base of a big stock pile and then auto topo the top of the pile and want to know how i can get an estimated volume. Thanks your videos are vary helpful!
Thank you! I can do that. You will use the same topo process. What will be different is how you calculate. What we'll need to do is create a surface based on the points from the bottom of the stock pile, that will be one surface. Then create a second surface from all the points, top and bottom of stockpile. I would recommend shooting your points on 2 different layers, it can make them easier to select for doing calcs on the data collector.
