I also remember watching this when I was 12,but as a straight kid. Didn't see anything wrong with it back then and didn't understand as I got older why some people did and still do.
It did, but HOT L BALTIMORE was an ensemble show: George and Gordon were regulars but weren't central to the plot (except in one episode). And they were two-dimensional, existing mainly to wander through, bickering loudly for a quick, easy laugh. By contrast, BROTHERS had two central, well-developed gay male characters who had their own stories (Cliff more so than Donald).
@@BodaciousWench Soap had just the one queer character. That was a breakthrough: the first hit series to do that in the US. But after the first few episodes, Jodie's being gay was mostly theoretical.
I was 14 and saw two men kiss in this one episode….. I threw up in my living room. Mom was pissed. Dad was proud. Now…. Every sitcom , commercial, and movie pushes this trash. The reason this show didn’t rank as retro or ahead of its time is because no one with fame would back it up as such. They stayed silent. Aahhh the good old days.
Nobody makes out in this episode and I can't recall men making out on *any* episode of BROTHERS. Fun fact: The more you comment on gay-themed clips, even to criticize them, the more RUclips will assume that you're queer and that this is one of your favorite topics, and it will fill your feed with lots and lots of queer stuff. Your choice...
@@stevencapsuto873 yes. My choice. So I’m pro choice. Lol. And just because you begin your paragraph with Fun Fact don’t mean shit. You idiots think it’s a fact for a man to give birth.
Flashback - wow, I remember watching this. Being a gay kid in Philly...12 years old when this came out I thought this was the best thing ever!

Really surprised that this iconic series never made it to DVD.
This was such a great series. I agree that this should have been released to DVD.
Didn't catch this in 1984. This episode is wonderful and well staged/chorographed. really enjoying it.
It was on Showtime at the time. and we didn't have that service.
I use to watch this show as a kid and my mother didn't understand why. She always asked why do i like this show. I cant explain 🤔🤔
The character I portrayed for two decades in the squared circle was a blatant ripoff of Donald Maltbie. Couldn't have done it without ya, Donald!
"HOT-L Baltimore" in 74 had a gay couple.

@@stevencapsuto873 what about ‘Soap’?

Algorithms! They’ll turn ya!!
Ah, brother! Yet here you are watching a show that according to you made you puke. Yeah sistah, keep telling that to yourself.
I can't stop laughing at the all American patriotic snowflake who's such a strong, masculine man who upchucks at merely seeing 2 men kiss.
They should show this again good sit-com
