Well I go to Texas Tech and ya we didn't win a bowl game or finish top 25 the last 4 years i've been here, I would consider that mostly cause the coaching staff though
@@Nick2014B I would consider it almost solely because of our defense lol Coaching has settled down now that we have Gibbs as a definitive DC, but I'd put us losing on our defense 99% of the time. I'd say that 66-10 loss at Iowa St. his last season was really the only truly bad game Mahomes played in his 2 and a half seasons. Outside of that game we either got soundly beat by a really good ranked team that held us to less than we were used to, or we were literally only a stop or two by our defense away from winning the game.

Just revisiting. What has always made him unique & different is he always knows what to attempt (and usually succeeds) in abnormal situations. During this play he simply knew attempting to throw right-handed had a major chance of the ball getting riped out of his right arm/hand. He knew exactly what needed to be for a successful play. Like I said he mentally & physically practices these things. It's a blast to watch. And being a Chiefs fan since I was 6 living in KC. I'm going to enjoy this for the next 15 yrs.I was 5 & remember going to my great-uncle's house to watch SB 1.

To the point about Cam Newton, was the fact it was a shortened off season if I'm not mistaken because of the CBA. So the defenses hadn't got their legs under them yet.

D-Hall, spot on....what he did for Mcnabb, Vick, Alex Smith & Mahomes, these guys were all taken in the 1st round....Think about all the 1st round QBs that were unable to replicate their success in the college or considered busts....In other words if you were taken in the 1st round Andy Reid will unlock the potential....All the QBS I listed had their best seasons under this QB whisper.
That year of sitting helps I don't know what it is but a year on the bench let's most QBs come in and play composed and non rattled.
what impressed me most about mahomes was not the comeback although that was pretty great. What impressed about him is the patience. this is the kinda game where most qbs start forcing things, not playing well, on the road against a defense that had been stingy, next thing you know a couple of picks are thrown. Even when his team kept losing plays on penalties, he didn't force the issue. Thats what can make him great. He really does take what they give. kudos to the coaching staff as well. i noticed that all the teams that gave up on the run early when behind pretty much this week lost their games. they feel like they have to throw 60 times when they are down 7 in the second quarter and i don't get that. hard to keep em honest that way.

I just wish Skip would be way more consistent with his arguments. He calls out Mahomes for not playing well for 3 quarters and points out his lack of passing yards (159), yet when Dak Prescott struggles to hit 200 yards in entire games Skip says nothing. Tom Brady gets the ball batted out of his hand in the SB, skip says it's not his fault (I agree), yet when the same thing happens to Kirk Cousins against the Rams it's all his fault.
