This is Ernest Malacara who was the Resident Manager of the Menger Hotel for many years...Mr Malacara passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2020...he was my ex father in law and the grandfather to my son...RIP Mr Malacara...maybe you will visit the Menger one day yourself.
The Menger is definitely haunted. We have stay there multiple times and have had 2 unexplainable experiences. The first was time we were awakened in the middle of the night to men working and moving heavy something or other, shouting in another language. The sounds seem to be coming from within the walls and were muffled. To me, it almost sounded like they were banging on a railroad track and moving large containers. It was roughly 4:30 am. I checked the hotel hallways and outside and nothing. In the morning, we checked with the front desk and there was no construction going on at 4:30 am. In another incident, I took a pic of the tv in front of the bed and looked at the reflection and there was a demon-like face next to us. The front desk confirmed that people share all types of ghostly experiences and it is just a part of the norm there.
We stayed at the Menger for the Tea Party in April 2008. I woke from a dead sleep to an extreme hightened state of fear....I pulled the sheets over my face, like I was a kid again, scared of the dark a couple of minutes later, The sheets where pulled up over my head, and flapped up and down about 5 times quickly, like someone had the sheets plucked in their hand right above my nose and a woman's voice viciously stated," what about MY situation!!!" I said the Lord's prayer and told the
I went there yesterday with my family to explore ,knowing it was haunted. The whole hotel gave me a funny smell. I went to the 2nd floor to look around b/c I heard people see an old lady roaming the halls and I noticed that all the mirrors there were animated! I then stayed quiet BC I heard lil boys playing probably 15 feet away from me but no one was there then I heard a loud screeching noise and I saw that a maid was scratching her card against the walls also the floors and all squeak when you walk making it seem scary! I talked to the maid and she told me that the 3rd floor was the most haunted part to of course I went . I then hears a lot of lil noises and people walking by like having a convo next to me but no one was there! When this particular person walked to me he gave me the chills & that's when I started to freak so I went back to the lobby and stayed there until everyone came down
When I stayed there were complaints of kids running in the hall, they found no kids and complaints of loud banging in the middle of the night in one of the rooms, no one was in that room it was vacant.
I stayed here last year during spring break,and then came back in the summer. In spring break i didn't know it was haunted!! When i left the hotel in the spring i found out it was haunted and wanted to go search for ghosts Then i came back in the summer but unfortunently me and my family didnt stay in the Menger.. so i couldnt hunt for ghosts..... I want to come back again haha.
the way he talks reminds me of the terminology that my maternal grandparents commonly used, passing it down to my mother and at times I use out of habit. :3 It's nostalgic to hear and watch a gentleman of that generation speak... makes me a bit misty eyed. ^_^;

Joseph Davis there was this lady killed cuz she got shot with a gun in that hotel and now she haunts the place. That might explain the banging.

Mm IDK about ghost stories, but it would be kool to actually see something like that. I think people make up most ghost stories.
Is it fun staying there
spooky
I find it unpleasant the way he does not meet the interviewer’s eyes.
Why don’t those people shut up in the background? Lol
