Because the people who write this garbage live between Malibu , the Studios and the synagogue , where business is done. They have no clue, nor do they feel the need to know, how the rest of the world lives.

This movie has the most one-dimensional characters that I have ever seen. It's insulting to the intelligence. I enjoy it immensely.

It’s a guilty pleasure and I love it. I was 6 when it came out and my dad took me to see it so many times. Poor guy RIP.

I firmly believe, Universal studios came up with the amusement park ride first, and then the movie was basically a sales pitch for the amusement park. THAT RIDE WAS STILL GOING STRONG IN 2012!
Jim's douche-chill groan when the caller reminds them the robot was called Dorothy is my favorite moment.

It's classic but it goes to show the format that Opie goes for so hard seems counterintuitive, like his idea of a good show is not if it's funny or interesting, it's if it hits the beats, all satisfactions of control, because Jim and Anthony were audibly getting tired of this bit, like the clips are not necessary at all, but Opie had to constantly hand hold his audience that didn't ask

I'm from Oklahoma. This movie other than the flying cow is 100% accurate. Including buy not limited to the morons who chase them.
Yeah if the characters were all serious the movie would be too dark and depressing with the tornado destruction. It was a little corny but not as bad as they’re making it sound.

I’ll admit that for awhile because of this movie I’d go “look for the tornado” during tornado warnings in my area (pretty common in the summer)

I always wondered why people even bothered calling when it's obviously the worst part of the show and nobody except opie liked callers. You can actually hear ant groan every time he hears "lets say hi to..."

I watch this movie on vhs every spring 😂😂 I will always love it. Storm chasers actually honored bill Paxton when he passed. It was really amazing & sweet
The Phillip Seymour Hoffman character was Opie in the early days …maaaaaan!

I used to watch this with my dad when I was a little kid in the 90s. Looking back it’s hilariously bad.

You know Opie was just watching Twister un-ironically a few nights before, thoroughly enjoying it and saying to himself what a badass well done movie it is. He then adapts on the show.

I really enjoyed Twister. Sure there were some very cheesy moments but it was a fun movie. The way they rip this movie apart though is hilarious as hell. Imagine if the guys were still doing radio today and found out a sequel called Twisters is coming out in summer 2024 😂😂😂😂

@@Abeleko There's wasn't a sequel till it was announced back in 2020. The new movie will focus on Bill and Jo's daughter. She follows her parent's footsteps as a tornado chaser. What's funny is that back in 1996, a couple months before Twister came out, a tv movie called 'Night of the Twisters' came out and some associate this movie to Twister. There's no connection between movies whatsoever besides the tornadoes lol
@@TonyMichaels166 It was a big movie that year at the start of the summer then Independence Day came out more than a month later. ID4 won big at the box office but Twister was a big hit. Good point on that. I still enjoy Twister but almost every scene is over the top lol

I had to laugh when they were mocking the movie characters' over-the-top reactions to the tornado and saying "Nobody acts like that." Obviously Opie and Anthony have never seen a Reed Timmer storm chasing video.

I never listened to O&A, but I'm so relieved to find at least two other humans who revile that film as much as I do. I think dark thoughts whenever I come across it.
From that picture, Ope actually should be bitter. Nobody ever mentioned that he was by far "the handsome one" of the 3. Jimmy hurts me to look at here. And Ant looks like he's going to pour the gasoline to turn thr coca into a paste

Just saw Twister for the first time a few days ago and I agreee with Anthony. This film gave me a headache for real and hearing these guys have the same opinion about the film is easing my pain from it. I was screaming at the tv it was so bad.
Twister and Anaconda is a fantastic double feature. Best-bad of the 90s. Also, it’s clear Ant loves Twister.

Bill Paxton honest to God effort really sells the part despite the whole thing being a bit silly. Wholesome fun loving guy gone too soon. His dad provided inspiration for the scene in True Lies where he’s bragging to Arnie about seducing his wife. “Ass like a 10 yo boy” 😂

My favorite scene is when the dad, somehow manages to hold the cellar door against like 300 mph winds.. but when he inevitably gets sucked up with the door, the rest of the family is fine 10 feet away

My dad’s an electrical engineer. In the 1980s, he developed weather equipment working for Alden Electronics in Westborough, Massachusetts. I watched this movie with him when it was on Pay-Per-View back when it came out…they showed Bill Pullman look up at the sky & he can sense barometric pressure changes & all this shit, then the Dorothy scene & he said “all the information they were claiming those sensors give them, they had the ability to detect in the 1960s & 1970s…those laptops were showing recorded video of full screen radar views shown from the weather channel or a news broadcasts…this entire premise is stupid…his ex-wife’s looking for vengeance from a deadly force of nature, we live in Boston/MetroWest, we get blizzards here…

Just reminds me of how big the summer blockbuster hype was. Even if it sucked, most people were super hyped ro go to the movies. Because it was kinda all encompassing due to the fast food promotions, toys etc. I think this kinda thing went on from 87 to 97. The good ole days. Go eith the family or a half dozen friends. Now... Meh. "It's something to watch" is almost every movie. Streamed!

EXACTLY RIGHT…regardless of their primary motivation, the “good guys” and “bad guys” of this movie have the exact same goal. They can both do the exact same amount of good. Jonas played the game a bit and decided not to be a loser for his entire life…so what? His most evil characteristic is that he’s a dick to his driver guy…and he drives past the other team after they crash. That’s his Darth Vader, “lifting you up via telekinesis” moment. What…he stole their design? He tried to improve it, by his own admission. That’s *precisely* how science works.
