Thanks for all the valuable info. I have 8 colors in my home and ended up custom mixing them all. FYI. I paint a 8× 10 piece of posterboard with each color. So much easier to have when I go fabric or accessory shopping. Also before I store the paint I fill a 2 oz. Squeeze bottle of each color for quick touchups.

Not Benjamin Moore but I would love to mention that I have a North East facing, open concept, living room and kitchen in my condo. There are only 2 windows in my living room. When I moved in there was this weird contractors pale yellow color and it looked dingy. I got sample swatches of all the popular griege colors and they were all way too dark.
I started looking at the off white colors and chose Sherwin Williams - Crushed Ice. It's so light and airy. It reminds me of a fluffy cloud. Or maybe the way clouds look as they reflect off a lake or pond in summer. It's light, bright, muted enough in evening lamp light and during the day it's so pretty! Matches everything. It's clean and slightly warm with no yellows or greens. I painted all the walls Crushed Ice with white linen drapes before Christmas this year.
The popular colors like Revere Pewter and Repose Grey looked way too dark dreary like a dark sidewalk grey in a North East low lit space. Yellows just looked like old dirty white. Many designers say to get a yellowish color for North facing rooms and I disagree. I feel like yellows in a space like that end up looking like old water damaged yellowed white. I feel like yellows need lots of sunlight to look clean in my opinion.
I did choose Benjamin Moore colors for my bathroom with no windows. I tend to like deeper colors for a bathroom with bright light bulbs and a motion sensor night light. Hope that helps.

Yet another great video full of useful tips too. I always try to store leftover paint in smaller containers as this helps keep the paint in good condition, plus it takes up less storage space. We have used Benjamin Moore for a long time and you have named some of the whites we have use, Getting ready to paint the front door a different color and like some the other colors you showed us. The blacks in the runner but not for sure if it will go with the new house paint we used two months ago. Did not know about the smaller paint cans and will get some for the house paint we have left over and a extra for the door. Next year will be inside painting so will use your information you shared tonight. Love you videos always. Awesome, Jennifer! Great video on paint colors. I fell in love with Ben Moore Aura paint 12 years ago (I think? When Pottery Barn was still promoting it in their catalogs) and painted our house interior a couple of years after that. Holy cow! The Aura paint still looks brand new and couldn't be happier with it. Yes, you shell out more bucks initially, but like you said, the pay off is so worth it. My sister went with Manchester tan and it looks awesome in their house as well. Have a great week! xoxo Christine in sunny CO. 🙂🌞

ChrispyCritter I am about to do my house in Manchester Tan. I worry that it’s a little basic or boring, but I have an open concept so the kitchen, family, dining, and living room will all be the same. The foyer has 25 ft ceilings so I can’t do it myself. If I could, I would just choose a fun color and paint on a whim and be more daring. I am not afraid of color in my other rooms but honestly I think it will look great and stand the test of time and trends - hopefully! Hard to say you love a beige but I love the way it goes with anything and it seems to change color in different light and different room and so it won’t be too bland.

Ally Katt Hey there! Good luck with all of that painting. 👍🏻💪🏻🎨 My sister’s house has cubby rooms like a Craftsman-style house, and I think it still looks good that way. Although, I’d have to say Manchester Tan does look “different” painted in a darker, north facing room vs south facing. Comes off as a bit more olive-y. Either way, I’m sure it’ll look fantastic in your great room area. I always tend to jazz up my neutral base sofas and chairs with bright fabrics (I like to decorate seasonally). So that’s how I deal with the “50 Shades of Beige” in our house. 😉 Have a great rest of the weekend! Christine

Great paint tips. Thank you for sharing and being in-depth about it. So helpful. We had a toy parti poodle... Ginni was her name. I have grand dogs, too... golden doodles. So fun!

Thank you so much!! I'm saving this. What about Atrium White? What are your thoughts on that BM color? It's in the SW color palette. Thank you!!

What suggestion do you have for updating oak kitchen cabinets? Would love to see before and after pictures of rooms you designed.

Jennifer! Eggshell or any higher sheen paints need to be touched up with the tool they are applied with. Brushing eggshell or higher sheens make the touch-up shiny but if you use a small 3/8” roller it will be the same sheen as the original which was either sprayed or rolled. Also, use a hair dryer to loosen the original label and reapply to your qt. can.

Susan Pike well I will have to try that. And brilliant idea about using a hair dryer to remove label and reapply! Love that!

Thanks for sharing. You may be aware of his but I was also told several years ago by the guy (professional) who painted the exterior of my house (reference to storing paint). He said to cover the opening of the paint can with plastic wrap.
The put the lid on securely and make sure it doesn't leak. Then turn the can upside down to allow the paint to create its own seal (for maximum shelf life).

Verlene Howard well what a brilliant idea. I did not know that! Thank you!

I really appreciate your videos!! I love this color, we have it in our bedroom and we are planning on painting the exterior of our home with sea salt. My question is the trim. We live in florida, the front of the home is North facing. I was not sure of whether to add a bit of warmth- like westhighland white cream, or go with others like Greek Villa , White cotton or something else.
We plan on painting the front door a rich coffee brown faux wood finish. Also some accents on home with deep bronze for chimney topper and louvers on two windows. But my main question if the trim. Thanks for any input!

I would recommend white- it will help saturate the Sea Salt :)

Beverly Martin So glad to hear this as I have chosen Man Tan for my open concept rooms but am second guessing myself and overthinking. I googled it just for kicks and that’s how I found this video and Jennifer!

Great tips! Just moved into our new build a few months ago with that horrible flat chalky white paint everywhere. I hate it and can't wait to paint everything! I have 3 kids that love touching walls and leaving marks everywhere. Ugh. Revere pewter is on my list of possibilities for my master bedroom and pale oak is on my list for the office. Definitely using samplize for my vast list of color options.
