What’s the difference in city coo and county deputy academy Please let me know

But do they get paid while they are in academy? I've asked several people this and haven't gotten a straight answer yet.

FaithAloneGaming ok just because I know how frustrating it is when they do not answer your questions and also because I’m really grateful when someone takes the time to answer my questions, here you go. IF you go through the academy sponsored by a police department or sheriffs office, YES YOU DO GET PAID WHILE IN IT AND ALSO GET THE ACADEMY GET PAID FOR AS WELL, this is due to th fact that at that point and time you’re an employee to them, needless to say that if you put your self through the academy, you paid for everything that comes with it and you DO NOT get paid while attending to it, hope this helps 🤓

FaithAloneGaming not a problem!! Like I said, I just know how frustrating it is when you want some information in regards to something you’re really interested on and no one seems to take a second just to answer a question, I’ve been there and I have found out a lot of information about law enforcement on my own and I know how hard it is sometimes to get a straight answer, good luck to you!!

Not quite like that its bootcamp lite trainees typically go home every night/ weekends off and not nearly as intense. USMC bootcamp is pretty much nonstop games for 13 weeks straight but its for an entirely different purpose than sheriff's/ or police academy.

Question to everyone: I just failed the Medical Exam for LAPD because I am colorblind (Red and Green).I am so disappointed coz I pass everything else. I also in the process in applying for Sheriff. I pass the written exam and I have a VPAT schedule in a few weeks. Should I bother to continue? I don't know if Los Angeles Sheriff Department take Colorblindness seriously.

@@50ish_kinda_life26 Realistically the only way for you to know if LASD will allow color blindness is to call or take their medical. Every department is different, Same state put different want's and needs, and what's allowed and what's not. In short, call and ask or take the time and put in the effort to make yourself a better candidate despite being colorblind.

@@50ish_kinda_life26 Just some advice from my own experience. I've applied to 15 different departments in two different states in the past two years. I'm now back to my "Dream" Department, I've made it further than i have before. What I'm saying is Keep Applying. If being in Law Enforcement is something you really want. You have to put in the work. Step out of bounds with it, try a different state. County, what ever it may be. But just keep trying. I wish the best of luck to you, on your endeavors.

Not the local boy scouts.;) That's the mindset these folks have to have though I wouldn't say their mindless but they do have to follow orders. So William, if you don't mind sharing, how many negative experiences have you had with the law? What have they done to you? First impressions re lasting impressions so I feel you may have had some really bad personal experiences with the local fuzz? Care to share a story or two?

Law needs to be enforced otherwise this would be the Wild West you are trained to learn and apply the rules and regulations if people choose to not follow them that's up to them but actions have consequences so you can hate them all you want ThTs fine but when something happens I guarantee you call 911 so you are lucky they are doing that

These fellas are going to see shit that you couldn’t even be in the same room as. And they have to handle the situation too, not just be a bystander. You can go on thinking law enforcers are meanies, but just know that they are also the ones taking care of stuff that would probably traumatize most people, and that means you especially.
