Only came across your channel a few days ago. I love it. I love how enthusiastic you are. Just with illustrations for my mine and brothers children's boo.
Jules, thank you so much for doing these videos. I've learnt a great deal from you. I've written a children's picture book of about 2,500 words, mainly dialogue with description and you've just advised less than one thousand for a picture book, "Oh bother." As I'm doing a rough illustration at the moment to see the page count, (30?) may I ask for some advice? Should I make it episodic of three parts? Thanks again!
Hard to say without a bit more info - but if it's 2500, are you sure it's not for 5-7's? I have a video called Age Ranges. That might be helpful for you. :)
Ive been watching your videos and I like your approach. I recently have published my first 2 books this year and had an idea for another in the style of an adult oriented childrens style book. However try as I may, I just cant get my brain to not be anxiety ridden when I go to illustrate it. I know how to draw and all that but I just dont know how to properly illustrate the series of events. I'm also not good at drawing in the style I picture for it. Digital isnt really an option. So any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. The style is childrens book but with dark horror aspects.
Crikey, that sounds interesting! I'm guessing it's for older children? My advice would be to look at lots of books in your genre and get some inspiration. Then, go on RUclips and find people who are doing tutorials in the medium you want to use and take it from there. The fear of what it _might_ look like will often hold us back, so don't put too much pressure on yourself. Just start somewhere.
@@JulesMarriner it is going to be for adults. I just like the concept of something horrifying being presented as cute and as far as im aware it hasnt really been done yet so its going into unknown territory.
I started already with my new book but just cannot illistrate the Princess the second characher but have written 2 pages already so I am stuck and have a the illstrations pics already from personal photos that I took my self what do I do ?

Have a look at how other people illustrate Princesses. I often get my inspiration from doing that. Perhaps you need to strengthen your style?
