Fleetwith Pike is the north-western shoulder of Grey Knotts.
It is bounded by Honister Pass to the north and Warnscale Bottom to the south-west, their two streams uniting beneath the fell in Buttermere.
The north west ridge rising almost from the lakeshore at Gatesgarth is named Fleetwith Edge, and is a striking feature from any direction.
The top of the fell is situated directly at the top of the edge, while a lower summit stands to the east atop Honister Crag.
Fleetwith Pike is lined on all sides by impressive crags, other than for the broad plateau leading across the Drum House to Grey Knotts.
Innominate Tarn is a small tarn in the north of the Lake District.
It is situated at 520 metres above sea level, near the summit of Haystacks. The word Innominate means "without a name".
Haystacks is topped by crags which giving a soaring curved profile from the settlement of Gatesgarth.
Warnscale Beck, one of the feeder streams of Buttermere, runs down beneath Green Crag from its source near Great Round How.
There are the remains of extensive quarries on the upper slopes of Warnscale, including Dubs, once served by a tramway from the summit of Honister Pass.
Across Warnscale is Fleetwith Pike, a satellite of Grey Knotts.
The summit sits on a short rocky spine, set at right angles to the ridge.
Both ends of the ridge have cairns, that at the northern end being the accepted summit. A lower parallel ridge lies just to the east.
The view is excellent, the high points being Gable Crag on Great Gable and the western panorama of Ennerdale Water and High Crag.
Crummock Water and Buttermere are also well seen.
The summit has a number of tarns. The highest is just below the top, generally referred to as the summit tarn but officially unnamed.
Halfway along the ridge is Innominate Tarn, a popular beauty spot with an indented rocky shore and a line of tiny islets.
At the eastern end is Blackbeck Tarn, a long slender pool which overflows through a cleft in the crags.

Thank you for watching and for the very uplifting feedback it's a beautiful walk...lol I'm not getting much more than 5-6 miles in these days with all the filming and Drone flying...but it's worth it, I love it!!

Hi Andy and Billy. Another corker of a video. Funnily enough, we were only talking about doing Fleetwith Edge last week as we'd not gone up that way before - and lo and behold, you put up this video 😂😂. Will definitely be going up this way next time we're up - looks a great way up. Incorporating Haystacks will be great as well - love the unnamed tarn at the summit as well. Fab stuff - keep the vids coming. ATB Brian & Jill
Thanks again Brian and Jill for the great feedback very much appreciated it's a fantastic walk very dramatic a beautiful place just to take things easy....
Enjoy 😊🙏

Hi Andy, I have been watching both yours and Tracey’s videos for some time now. I thoroughly enjoy them all and appreciate you sharing them. They make me yearn to be back in The Lakes. My next holiday is in June, if I can wait that long. Your local knowledge adds a lot to the videos and the addition of the drone footage makes a huge difference. Keep enjoying your walks which I look forward to seeing. All the best, Paul
Thanks Paul for the great feedback mate 🙏 what you see in't videos is what you get on the day I don't go home and overlay everything with voice overs and fancy map software (lol that's cause I ain't got any)...after 20 years of walking at least once sometime twice or three times a week I really do love this new found venture and the Drone flying 😊
ATVB Andy and The ROCK STAR ⭐
What a fantastic five mile walk. You're right Andrew. It has everything. A bit of scrambling. False summits, Unbelievable views everywhere you look. I absolutely love this area with it's beautiful tarns and knobbly tops. Warnscale Bothy is my favourite bothy in the Lakes. What a view from that window eh? I've been there two or three times but the last time I went with my son and grandson I couldn't find the bloody thing! I went the the way you did but think I wandered off the path too soon. They weren't too pleased ha ha. Oh, if only I could get up and down like THE ROCK STAR. Well done Billy.
Thanks as always for watching David...aye Warnscale is a hard one to find tucked away a good way down the Gill...its a beautiful area isn't it...no surprise Wainwright wanted to rest there...take care my friend ATVB Andy and The ROCK STAR ⭐
Just completed this walk today with added bonus of shoreline walks on north then south bank of lake from Buttermere Court Hotel car park. A perfect day in every way 10/10. Came down from Scotland especially for this and it was more than worth the journey.
Superb buddy pleased you enjoyed the walk thanks for watching and the great feedback very much appreciated

A mighty impressive film Andy and a stunning route (a delightful mix of scrambling walking and views ⛰️⛰️⛰️🤩)
AW had a way with words and his quotes really do resonate with the fell walker don’t they 🙏🏼⛰️
Never summited Haystacks and this is the way ill do just that 🙏🏼⛰️
Billy boi Andy thanks 🙏🏼 for a epic film 🙏🏼
Best regards Simon 🤠👍🏔️
Congrats on 800 well deserved and you did it your way mate 😉⛰️
Thanks Simon Mate very much appreciated aye Wainwright sure had a way with words...what a man what an achievement!!

Another excellent one! I appreciate the drone footage from the side of the ridge so you realky can see how steep it is. I have this one planned out but added Black Star along with both bothies and a side jaunt over to Great Round How because why not. 😂
Hiya Michael doing Black Star and Great Round How is a great choice makes the walk the best six miles in't Lake District...from Great Round How drop down the fence and follow the Ridge line back past multiple little hidden Tarns and Haystacks East Top back to Innominate Tarn a much more quiet route 😉👌🏻
Thanks as always for watching buddy 🙏🏻
ATVB Andy and The ROCK STAR ⭐
@@RockStar67 Ohh, yeah that path from GRH would work nicely! Is the scrambling down Haystacks one that looks worse than it really is? Sadly we were supposed to do Haystacks in May but by the time we got done with Red Pike/High Stile/High Crag in some extra thick clag we were just done. And the descent from High Crag was something else
@@mjkoehler73yes mate the route down Haystacks into Scarth Gap is definitely the most tricky bit of the walk plenty of foot and hand holds but definitely nicer on a dry day 👍🏻
Great episode. I haven't gone up Fleetwith Pike edge, looks good.
One of my favourite 5 mile (ish) walk is Rydal Water via Loughrigg Fell from Ambleside.
Hiya JP yes mate Rydal is a beautiful part of the Lakes a nice wander mate....Fleetwith Edge isn't to demanding a la'al bit exposure and hands on stuff but not as bad as some folk think, Thanks for watching buddy much appreciated ATVB Andy and The ROCK STAR ⭐
Hi Andy & the ROCK STAR. Absolutely fantastic as ever. Ah Fleetwith Pike via Fleetwith Edge, the king of the false summit! 🤣
Some absolutely beautiful drone footage mate. Watching that made me jealous of Billy. I do wish I had the ability to scramble down as well as he does, he makes it look much more graceful than I do! 🤣
Thanks as always for sharing your adventure with us, and congratulation for passing the 800 subs. Brilliant stuff.
All the best
Dave
Thanks Dave for all your comments...fantastic getting passed that 800 mate I'm really hoping for that magical 1000 by New Year but no rush patience is the way... Lol i wish I could get down rocks like our Billy can mate...but then he is the ROCK STAR ⭐ I just follow him 😂

Well Andy yet another great vlog with this route up Fleetwith Edge 😊 some great views overlooking Buttermere ❤ the drone yet again does what it does best capturing a birds eye view of the landscape 😊😊 The great AW knew where he wanted his last port of call to be & looking at the tarn it's not hard to see why he chose it! You mentioned how many views the Borrowdale vlogs got & i think it shows how many people who visit zThe Lakes think this is a terrific place & I wouldn't disagree ❤ great walk with you & of course Billy Bob The Legendary Rockstar 🐶🐕❤

Hi Andrew and Billy, absolutely brilliant video mate, really enjoyed it. Haystacks is one I want to go to next if I can. Sadly I have only been up Castle Crag so far but we are hoping to be moving to the north of the country next year so I might achieve it hopefully 👍. Stay safe, cheers Glyn.

Hey Andy, great walk and film. Myself and my wife were up Fleetwith on the 6th doing some some of the fells up there and I agree with you, stunning views looking down over Buttermere, we love it there though I must say it was great to see it from above with the drone footage, simply beautiful. We even went back there on Sunday just for a walk around Buttermere and although a short walk we just find it so beautiful. Length of your video was great, flew by watching which is testiment to you and the quality of your films. Great watch as usual mate, take care
Thanks Steve it gets a bit busy round Buttermere sometimes especially in't Summer but your right mate it's a beautiful village and valley...a feel good place mate...even has friendly farmers 🤣 have a great weekend mate I've almost got my next video finished lots more coming soon...lol also two still to edit

Truly breathtaking views Andy. I drove up the Honister pass from the direction of Buttermere a couple of years ago and the sight of the pyramid shape of Fleetwith pike looming over the road was awe-inspiring. I've got to get up there one day!
Ist a lovely route David a nice wander with nothing technical just a couple of short pull up hands on sections.
Thanks for watching and the great feedback

Thanks Andrea...lol aye I've lost Warnscale Bothy a couple of times in't past...im sure it moves about 🙄

I like the way Billy walks a little way ahead of you on the the rough parts, knowing which way to turn and then stops to wait for you, a very smart and loyal dog. ATB Roo.

Brilliant Andy. Did this same walk only a month ago and loved it. Shows how much more drone footage can add to memories of the day, and the landscape, than taking photos alone. Yes your videos may be getting “better”, but they have always been enjoyable and informative. Glad to have been one of the earliest subscribers 😊. Atb👍🏻
Thanks Stuart for a fantastic uplifting comment...what you see with me on the day is what you get...no fancy voice overs added later and definitely no click bait...have a fantastic weekend buddy

What a wonderful video Andrew, all familiar although I haven't been on Fleetwith Edge for quite a while (will do that again next year with a bit of luck). Just the right mix of film and drone footage, plus commentary and music, all spot on. My favourite part was the drone footage from Haystacks, got lump in my throat watching that for some reason :-) Well done, look forward to your next film...

Hi Andy
I have just discovered that you have your own channel! I have subscribed and have been following Tracey for a while but didn’t realise you both had channels. Just love the Buttermere and Crummock valleys. My husband and I have climbed Haystacks and visited Warnscale Bothy but we have yet to conquer Fleetwith Pike. Looks like you climbed a great way up it. Love your drone footage. Wendy
Thanks for watching Wendy very much appreciated...yeah it's a lovely area...thanks also for Subscribing...have a lovely weekend 😊 🙏🏻

Fantastic video, really enjoyed it. You’re spot on with your opinion of the views off Fleetwith Pike towards Buttermere. We said the same a few weeks ago about it being the best in the Lake District 👍
Thanks guys there's definitely something special about these Hills old Wainwright sure found himself a beautiful resting place...thanks for watching

Really enjoyed watching this. It's one of our favourite areas. We've not gone via fleetwith edge yet, I'm not sure if it's too pointy for me. What does Tracy think to it...I trust Tracy 😄
Hiya Claire...lol Tracey fully understands your concern she ain't done Fleetwith Edge ether and she oftern don't believe me when I tell her something is OK and she'll manage...a good day is what's needed for Fleetwith Edge nice dry rock in the Summer with someone who can help with a little encouragement and you'll smash it!!
Thanks as always for watching have a great weekend

@@RockStar67 I can look up at some fells I've already done and think I couldn't do it 😅 definitely one for a good day. Thanks to both of you for sharing your videos. They're great to watch and get ideas.
Fabulous video again Andy. Probably the best Ive seen ascending Fleetwith up the nose. We planned to do it when staying at Littletown in Spring but it turned out one of the hottest days of the year and we ended up just walking around the lake which was awesome. Its the one Wainwright ive not done in that area. Your drone footage just gets better all the time. Amazing views and of course lots of information along the way. Cheers Andy and The Rockstar
Awww Tony thank you mate you comment on every video I make so you'll see any improvement (lol hopefully improvement) as you'll have gathered mate what you see with me is what you get...if its not said on't Hill it's not said...no fancy voice overs added later and definitely no click bait..have a fantastic weekend buddy 😊

Great video Andy. We did a similar route in reverse back in 2021 (before I started filming) and added High Crag as it was Charlie's 50th Wainwright. He's rattled them off since and now only has 41 to go. I know what you mean about RUclips being a "tough nut": I've been at it for just over a year now and you were only my 95th sub! I actually wonder whether I'm wasting my time. Congrats on getting to 800. I'm sure you'll soon be at the "Holy Grail" of 1000!
Your not wasting your time buddy... definitely not keep pushing the videos there great quality...ill give you a shout out on my channel hopefully get to the first one hundred milestone every little helps 👍🏻
Well done Charlie your getting there Lad 🐶

I'll do the same and see if it helps you over the 1000 mark.
Charlie's doing better than me with the Wainwrights - it took me 13 years to do them!
Looking forward to your Great Carrs video. Tony & Charlie.
One of my favourite places, but I could not do the Fleetwith nose its a bit to 'edgy' for me 😃😄😀
There's a wee bit of exposure closer to the top I fully understand your concern TB...if you ever attempt do it on a nice hot grippy rock summers day
