Great video. I totally do the chocolate eggs during wingspan and wine during viticulture. I will totally have to make some sushi when we play let's go to Japan!

My favorite food themed game is Consumption designed by Karen Knoblaugh. The game is about consuming different food groups and having a balanced diet. It could be paired with almost anything as it incorporates buying ingredients and cooking as well as ordering take-out pizza or Chinese food and even going to a farmer's market.

Love some of these! I've been trying to plan a coffee and donuts early game day with donut shop, cafe, and coffee rush

Fun topic. There’s so many good options. Sometimes I like to match food/drink with the vibe of a game.
Spooky games like Night Cage, or Phantom Ink, break out some candy corn or other Halloween goodies.
Res Arcana I like to drink out of goblets like I’m a mage.

When I got my Kickstarter for Steam Up: A Feast of Dim Sum, my friends and I had a food themed evening, learning Steam Up, and then also playing Sushi Go,and Sushi Roll. What a great evening. My only regret was that we finished too late to get food.

I just got Distilled, it's so good. I think you'll absolutely like it.

    Love this video!
My friends group often enjoys combining food games/movies. Here are some of the combos:
    - Dune Imperium / Dune movies: Pumpkin pie or cinnamon pasta (with penne for sandworms or heighliner of course)
    - Parks: backpacking/hiking snacks or meals
    - War of the Ring: meat is back on the menu boys!
    - Heat: chips with spicy salsa
    - Paddington: marmalade and biscuits
    - Parasite: Peaches and lychees
    - Hundreds of Beavers: baguette (snack log)

After winning a box of games I found myself with two copies of Viticulture. I invited a couple friends over and told them the winner takes the game home. The price of admission was a bottle of wine. It was great fun.

That was very generous of you! I'm glad you all had a good time.

@2:55 - I'm so excited you mentioned this! Indeed, the first thing I thought of when I saw the topic was when I hosted a 7-player campaign of Rise of Fenris, and for the first episode, I found a beer related to each faction for my guests to enjoy. Togawa had Kirin, the Nordic faction had an Icelandic beer and so on. That was quite memorable, as my group never pairs food/drink with games other than the occasional bag of Twizzlers or something. I did post my beer/Fenris setup on Facebook, so maybe you were even thinking of my experience.

I haven't done it in decades, and I've never done it with games, but you reminded me of a few year period in grad school where a bunch of my friends would have sushi making parties every few months. Your video reminded me that we had to rinse the rice in strainers before cooking it. I remember we were not brave with raw fish (we loved it in restaurants, but were scared to use it at home), but we'd use imitation crab and cooked stuff. But the last party I can remember I found a fish market that sold sushi quality fish and we used that and it was great fun.

I really like how you paired food and drinks with The Rise of Fenris! The sushi making sounds fun too.

This reminded me of Burgoo. A small game of making stews. You could make quite a feast by matching up a few of these small games, like Burgoo, SushiGo, NewYorkSlice and Point Salad.

The stew idea is an interesting one. Just be careful people aren’t adding things that cook quicker before things that take longer if they are literally adding it when they arrive.

I am planning on taking Viticulture (blinged out to a ridiculous level 😂) to Valle de Guadalupe wine valley in Ensenada, Mexico, with 5 friends. Going to reserve a 3+ hour table overlooking the wine valley 😃🍷
Maybe in a few years we can actually take it to Tuscany.

Some other food game nights we've done:
    -Sushi Boat and Sushi Go
    -Hibachi and Ramen Fury
-Moonshine Empire (we had Moonshine tasters from Bevmo)
-Dinner in Paris (with French food obviously haha)
-Donut Shop, Cafe, and Coffee Rush (with donuts and coffee)
-Waiting on the Milkman kickstarter delivery. Might get Cover Your Cookies (reskin of Cover Your Assets) as the other game of the night.
