I am 38.5 weeks, planning a homebirth. I ordered all my stuff from in his hands and ended up spending about $70. Sure beats a hospital bill in the thousands!
I also had a home birth and had very similar supplies. One thing my midwife had me do that I think is very wise is to take the sheets, towels, etc. that are going to be used immediately at birth and put them in brown paper bags and bake them in a low oven for a while (cant remember how long). This sterilizes them and helps reduce the chance of post birth infection. I had two wonderful home births, but they are not for everyone. Everyone's circumstances are different and if you are considering a home birth please weigh the pros and cons carefully and choose what is best for you and your family.
I give props to all mamas who can do home births. I unfortunately was never able to even try fue to medical conditions. But its nice to see many woman can still!
Warm showers can help speed up the labor process along with the squatting position.
This was so cool to see. Our daughter had our first grandbaby at home & she had a wonderful experience & is now studying to be a doula.
Thank you for sharing. I’m due next month with #7 and planning a home birth. Best wishes to you and your family. I’m pray your labor is smooth. I think it is going to be a boy.
All the best with #7!! I have been fortunate enough to be able to have all five of mine at home, with the support of a truly wonderful midwife ❤ Janie
Great video...I especially liked the little video bomber in the background! LOL! So cute...a little hand waving from the stairs behind you! :)
I love this!! I'm a home birth mama too and love seeing what other mamas have on hand. One of my favorite things is to brew a strong "tea" with sitz bath herbs and put it in the peri bottle with a tiny bit of witch hazel and some water...such a soothing and healing rinse and an awesome job for my husband while I'm in the baby zone. I can't wait to see your newest little one! Bless you!
Oh this is really exciting! I found your channel while looking for food preservation stuff for the growing area, stayed for the GAPS recipes, and then realized that I had been to your home as an assistant to a fellow midwife.
This pleases me so much to come across this video. I love this perspective of homebirth.
And to this day, baby B was the most perfect newborn I’ve ever seen. ❤️
What a way to meet people. 😂

Thank you Jessica for putting this out! I’m 36 weeks and feeling a lot or pressure to get ready! I wanted someone I’m familiar with to show me I’m very excited for my next bundle of joy! And i unfortunately say my last my husband is now 50 and would like to stop after this baby 😢
You are so blessed ... .such a wonderful family
I admire your honesty and you seem so sweet. I thought I was gone break in half with my 1st child. I wanted all the drugs haha. I too my hat off to all the great moms who have given birth at home.
Great info Jessica... Your almost ready to have that sweet baby ❤️
And we practically have the same supplies from In His Hands! Lol.
My kit came from there, too! Hoping you and baby number 7 are both doing well! ❤️

@@moorelivinwithxbeautyy Aww congratulations. Yes listen to your body, stay hydrated and eat when you need to. Keep moving, shifting positions to encourage baby. Be patient with yourself. 💖💖
This is so informative, thank you and best wishes for you and baby 7 💚
My girls and I enjoyed this video.
Hearing your experiences with birth is so amazing. Have you ever had complications?
God bless your birth.
It made me feel a ton better when you said you don't use the gauze because when I first saw the table I became kinda nervous, I'm 40 weeks and don't have half of that stuff 😅 I do have a doctor who plans to see me at the hospital but also have a doula as well. She has the afterease so I feel super excited. I bought the wrong Arnica tincture so I'm stressing out. Do you drink coffee while you're close to giving birth? I'm feeling so exhausted today 🙃
Do you think midwives would do a home birth after 2 emergency csections? I have had 5 normal births prior to the csections. My last 3 natural births were under an hour and one was 15 minutes. My first cesarean was because the baby had the cord tightly wound around his neck twice and his heart rate was running 220...once inside we realized it definitely saved his life. My last born was a vbac turned csection when she squeezed her cord in her hand and shoved it out the cervix. My doctor is open to another possible vbac, but I have mentally wanted to simply be at home.
I have a friend who had her first two children c-sections and was able to have a vbac with her third child in the hospital. She had additional medical reasons for agreeing to the hospital but she was able to have a midwife with her and have a vbac. I think you would just need to ask the midwives. Some might not want to but you won’t know until you check. I myself am pregnant with my second and due in December. Blessings on you and your little blessing!
@@christywilliams5636 may you have a gentle healthy birth.
