    Great vlog, agree with your comments, I have owned my MS V4S just over a year and have completed 3900 miles - I luv it, as you say puts a smile on yer face. Tyre wise still plenty of tread on the Scorpions, when it comes to replacement I think I will try the Dunlop Mutants. The suspension is spot on for the road, I use mostly Touring or if I am getting a move on Sport which firms everything up nicely. Great bike.

      Cheers Big Al, it’s interesting to see what tyre choices people are looking at I guess you’ve got to just bang them on and time will tell. I’m going to swap out the brake pads next week there literally nothing left on the front from the track day I did on it. It’s hard to see how they could better this bike. 👍

    Thanks for that. I switched the fuel gauge to miles-to-go, and seems to be flawless for avoiding surprises. The SyGic is getting better. My only grief now is reconnecting the wi-fi when I stop. Or maybe I leave it on at a gas stop, but then accidentally walk out of range with the key. My tank box has my USB cable, registration, and spare key. No one will ever find it down there, or know what to do with it. Cheers from AZ.

    Great review! I'v had mine for a year and just completed 8k miles. Ducati London have been superb ; £289 for first service - cant complain. Tyres lack feel for me so fitting Road 6's next, have probably got 1k miles eft on the originals so again cant complain. Nav and connect is woeful , hopefully can get apple play one day.....Fuel consumption is what it is tbh , me and the missus did a European tour last summer and with us , full panniers and full tank of fuel the bike was 502kg (weigh bridge confirmed) and cruising at 130kmh we got 300km per tank which realistically is time for a break anyway! Around town commuting the consumption gets heavy but its still the best all round bike for me available. Mines the V4s full and its the only thing ive ever bought I use all the options and are happy with all of them. Can see myself getting up to 40k miles on this in the next 3 years then will replace it for another one without hesitation.

    Nice review! I have the same bike and agree with all your comments (including the rather useless tank compartment !). I had a 1200S earlier and the V4 is better in all respects except fuel consumption. Interesting and impressive that you tried the OEM Scorpion tires on track - I replaced them with Angel GT IIs before my track day, but I guess this shows have good bikes and tyres have become these days. The Scorpions have slightly taller shoulders and I was using them right to the edge with no chicken strips left even on the road so I thought it was best to use something with a wider contact patch. I am going to try the Metzeler Sportec M9s next season (they come in 19" size) to see the difference. The suspension is excellent, I use Touring for 90% of the time and Sport only for active riding on smooth roads. For really bad and bumpy roads (and rain) I use Urban which makes it super-smooth and soaks up all the bumps (altthough becoming a little more bouncy).

      Many thanks,I could of gone on forever with the review, the only thing I forgot to add was regarding the chain and sprocket change I did at 2,000 miles I did a separate video on that one. I’m going to try some other tyres next time just for the comparison. Fantastic bike for sure. Im still well impressed and I can’t see me changing for a good while yet. 👍

      I test rode the V4s and I liked it. It is smoother than my 2014 Multi GT. Then I try to justify the extra 15,000 if I sell my bike or 20,000 if I trade it in and I just say no way.
      I would spend the 15,000 on a nice used R1200RT for a second bike before I would spend the money on a new V4s. At some point the cost increases are just stupidly insane.

      @thatbikersimon  Год назад +1

      I think if you own a 1260 then stick with it. It’s a great bike and the new V4 is a lot of money, I really don’t think you get anymore pleasure out of a V4, the only reason I got one was because the 950s I had just wasn’t doing it for me on the power.

Proud to say their stuff is made right here in my home state of California. IF I decide to aggressively use my bike offroad I will purchase their product to protect my bike. Since I went over when I had both panniers on the bike no damage happened to the rear. If those were not on the bike at the time then it would have suffered more damage.

      @@thatbikersimon Right with you. A scratch or two took away the worry about 'if it would happen.' Because I owned a detail shop I have the skills to fix mine. I wanted to tell you that the mirrors held up well on both sides. I had slightly loosened both by an eighth of a turn to allow some 'give' in the stalks should I fall on either side. I felt that having them cinched down tight then places too much pressure and something would snap in the event of a fall. Glad I thought that way. A few scratches on the plastic, but nothing has broken on the mirrors.

    Hi Simon you are still obviously still in love with you v4s I will give you some of my thoughts, at this time last year I sold both bikes I had a 1994 fireblade which was standard apart from a period scorpion can the other bike was a v4 turno with lots of carbon race mapped and full race exhaust totally different but both bikes brilliant in their own way the aprillia was obscene but hell what fun. I am 75 yrs of age and my wife god bless her is 67 she loved pillion on the blade but hated the aprillia any way they both went should have kept them had space and I ordered a v4s from Coventry which I had delivered for march this year. A little concerned about the height sadly balance is not has it was I had the lowering kit fitted along with full set of panniers. I know I’ve lost some ride height in doing this but I think my days of knee sliders are over. Absolutely love it 5000mls done couple of was ago trip to solo 10 hrs in the saddle in one day could never have done that on the other bikes this gets ridden. It has all the power two up loaded panniers no prob handles lovely tips into bends faster than the aprillia did the technology all gets used can’t knock it but have fitted a garmen on an iconic parts screen mount so enough said about that.could go on it is everything and more what I thought it would be but we are all individuals and we change our views over time the thought of something like a v4s a few years ago would soon have been kicked into touch keep up with the posts ged

    One of the worst styling changes on new bike designs is the failure to provide a real front fender. The poor designs of modern front fenders actually dump road debris and road salts right onto the engine and frame. This makes a mess of the bike and accelerates corrosion is you ride in the winter months. Ducati is especially guilty of this “styling” trend.
    For 75 years bikes have had proper front fenders and rear fenders. Why practically eliminate them now?
