  • When your menopause symptoms feel like they are overwhelming you both physically and emotionally, it is hard to remember that this is just a phase and it will end.
    I get so many women contacting me worried that they will never feel normal again, so to help you see the positives to come, this week on A.Vogel Talks Menopause I thought I would take a look at how you can feel after the menopause and how to know when you are considered to be post-menopausal.

      Hey Michelle quick question Just out of curiosity for myself My girlfriend turned 52 this past August. Prior to this I have been noticing mood swings and I could just tell there something was on She did come to me and tell me that she was starting to have hot flashes and I knew she wasn't sleeping well at night or had a hard time going to sleep and then she was up super early. She is also taking naps during the day sending to be really tired. She came to see me for about 3 weeks the first two weeks were great The third week I didn't know what happened nothing changed but she just lashed out of me because I got a drink of water that I always did and then the next day she told me that she just wasn't ready. I feel like it is menopause that she is dealing with and trying to get through on her own without any help does it sound about right to you because her symptoms sound the same as what you might be having there's a whole lot more sympathy she's had than what I mentioned, from headaches for migraines, night sweats, insomnia dry mouth, etc.
      When she was 51 before we actually did anything she told me that her periods were really like and sometimes she skipped them It didn't dawn on me what was actually happening but that's also another telltale sign that she's going through menopause, anyways just looking for another woman's logic, thanks in advance for any help

    I am in the harder stages of perimenopause. Lots of anxiety and low mood. Hot flashes and being just fearful of a lot of things. I have a fear that I'll never feel normal again. I've never dealt with anxiety or fears before until all of this started. And I just wish you would go away

    I'm 2.5 years post and symptoms ebb and flow, never seeming to completely stop. Doctors say I'm fine but most tests are superficial anyways. I've been very industrious about my diet and life but still can't seem to settle. I recently learned there is a resurgence of symptoms at this 2 yr post meno mark. Sure hope it passes!

    I’m 47 years old and went through a really rough premenopausal nightmare but this is the second time I haven’t gotten my period for six months. All of a sudden I am so mellow and it feels so good. Still have symptoms in the body but nothing like it was. I’m hoping I go on my next six months without having a period.
    I regularly had a period twice a month for 10 years and the only thing that regulated my body was having a child. I had my kid at 33 and I don’t think too many years after that I started premenopausal symptoms and didn’t know.
    Definitely some intense rage and makes you feel like you need a straight jacket. Really hurts when you’re pushing everybody around you away and it just makes you feel like crap. You get in trouble at work.
    This is very miserable ladies!!!

    Thanks for giving me Hope. I am trying to take care of myself, have complicated issues with arthritis and other maladies, migraines, allergies etc..have heart palpitations, some weight gain I believe is due to cortisol and erratic hormones.
    I just had a relapse, after I was pushing myself in the exercise department, trying to get rid of my tummy.
    After two days down, I am back, but slower. I know I have to keep moving. I hadn't had a flare for about three months. Its allergy season and I started the extreme exercise 5 weeks ago and didn't have a problem until one day I pushed my body too hard with an extra long bike ride and a few extra miles walking on the same day.
    I am 50, haven't had a regular period since last September, started perimenopause at 42 with several rounds with excessive bleeding. Glad that's over!
    It's been a rollercoaster ride, and as you said, many ailments have worsened, but I am trying to get a handle on it.
    I was taking Devils claw, magnesium -Glucosamine chondroitin and then stopped after vacation, and am back to it. I think it was helping.
    I am so grateful for your ministry of healing women get through this challenging time. I dont have health insurance, so it's all about educating myself and self- care.
    It's an adventure for sure. Keep the videos coming!
    I really appreciate it.

      Other health issues can be confused with menopause ones such as low iron, low thyroid function, low vitamin D and B12, diabetes or even heart problems so just check that your doctor has tested you for all these just to rule them out.

    Through my twenties I had two periods per month and the doctors kept telling me there was nothing wrong. What was wrong is it turn me into a major basket case LOL and I regulated after having a child which was really weird. Had my boy at 33 and my body just kind of went back to normal flubbing up maybe once in a great while.
    I had my Mama business in May around the 20th then a week later I got it for one day. Now we're into July so woo Who😉
    Prior to may I had a good 3 weeker though and then after that I had raging hormones for a good few weeks to where I had to have my mom saved my son from my crabby ass🤣
    I'm still feeling the fatigue but for some reason and maybe it's because I haven't had one for a while I feel better🤣 please Lord you can have all of it right now let's just end this because I'm too old for more babies anyway.

      This sounds like a circulatory issue such as Raynaud’s Syndrome, and it is very important that you get it checked out with your doctor to find out the cause. Although menopausal transition can cause circulatory changes, it’s sensible not to miss out on checking with your doctor when symptoms occur, in case there is another factor involved.

      @AvogelCoUk  5 лет назад

      Hi Steph
      If you are still experiencing symptoms after all this time then it is important to see your doctor. Other health issues can often creep in a this point and get mistaken for menopause ones. Ask to be tested for low iron, low thyroid function, low vitamin D and B12 and also blood sugars. If all of these are OK it could be down to stress, either physical or emotional so have a look at your lifestyle, diet and stress levels to see if any of these may be a trigger. Acupuncture can often help at this stage so worth looking into.

    What determines whether some women will feel better or not

    • @AvogelCoUk
      @AvogelCoUk  3 года назад +3

      Hi Loway
      There can be lots of reasons such as it being hereditary (they can often have the same kind of menopause as other close female relatives), diet and lifestyle, stress levels or even whether they have a positive or negative attitude towards the menopause.

      You're welcome Deepa.
      You may find a soya supplement such as our Menopause Support can be helpful for you and make sure to drink plenty of plain water as dehydration due to low oestrogen can cause a lot of these symptoms! www.avogel.co.uk/herbal-remedies/soy-isoflavones/

      nobody 'has to' do HRT. Unless you're having such horrible symptoms that you can't function at all.

      Hi Savita
      Unfortunately, symptoms can continue for a few years after periods have stopped but if you feel that symptoms are getting worse, it is best to see your doctor. Other health issues such as low vitamin D, low B12, poor thyroid function and low iron can creep in and cause very similar symptoms. Your doctor can test for these just to rule them out.

    I don't know how you can feel better if you never sleep well again because of no hormones and wrinkly dry skin and hair and facial hair and bone loss plus enhanced cognitive issues. I hate it.

      Unfortunately, a long menopause can run in families, hopefully, you will have a shorter one. The good news is that, today, there are a lot of different treatments available to help women through this compared to your grandma’s day.
