I would tell my younger self that not making it to Makerere is not the end of the world. I failed s6 many years ago and my self esteem went from 10-0. I was so ashamed to be around people who went to university because of the fear of being asked where I went to school. I thought no one would ever want to marry me because in my head, who marries an S6 failure. I'm telling you I struggled with myself. However, God came through for me when I moved to Canada where I met so many people who had gone to college and some only high school and were doing well. Nevertheless I took some uni prerequisites and ended up going to one of the best universities in Ontario. So young self, just because you did not make it in UG does not mean you cannot make it else where.

21K💃🏾🎉👏🏾 What a joy to witness this growth!
Love the location and thank you for talking candidly about this, as with everything else.
When Prim touched on how we speak to ourselves😭 * Hugs *
Many young people are struggling now more than ever because of all the unrealistic beauty standards and 'life standards' really...(which change every minute😏 as if that's not enough) plus pressure in general from social media and its relatives.
I really hope the episode reassures many in their 20's (and beyond) who feel lost, inadequate or overwhelmed.
    ***
You started with the template we are supposed to go through and I just remembered how we are warned to keep off boys only to suddenly have a husband in waiting. Like, where did he fall from dear folks?🤔
    ***
I wish that when we were younger, we knew that we could leave, at any time.
If you feel like you are losing yourself, that is reason enough. It doesn't have to make sense to 'everyone.'
A course that isn't working out like Kemi mentioned, a bad relationship, a toxic friendship, an unhealthy work environment..
For different reasons, whether it is to fit in, make our parents happy, people pleasing, etc. We stay longer than we should in spaces which drain us when we could spend that time on people/things we actually like and grow from there
    ***
Travel in your 20's if you get the opportunity. It teaches us a lot, even about ourselves.
It could be a job upcountry, holiday with friends, a Master's degree or fellowship abroad, a volunteer experience in a neighboring country, whether it is 3 months or two years, it will not leave you the same.
    ***
Finally, listen to your gut. This is for every age, really, but I feel like it is something we don't pay close attention to when we are young(er). If someone's presence makes you uncomfortable and you have no other evidence other than a gut feeling - that is enough. If your gut tells you to miss that party, Sis, stay in watch a movie or even catch up on your sleep.
    Keep it up team TUO!👏🏾

19:41 The day I spoke to an almost sixty year old woman is when I realised we have to make a conscious decision to love our bodies. At her age, she told me she has never loved her body. And yet when she looks back at her old pictures, that's when she realises, it's all in her mind. Every one needs that liberation. Forget the standards of beauty. Become your own standard of beauty even as you work towards the body and healthy goals.

I can relate to fiona about clothes, Gosh, I have wasted so much money buying trash instead of buying the quality and classy tops, it took so many years to realise that in my 30s.

I’d tell Samantha… slow down, live alittle but most importantly communicate, communicate with people you need to communicate with and be honest with yourself.
