I am an alcoholic myself although fortunate enough never to have been homeless, despite losing pretty much everything else. I am caring and compassionate and have always found the time to try to understand how others have reached the position they're in. Tonight I saw an unfortunate homeless man vomiting in the sink of a London toilet, helped him to the street and we spoke about life and I gave him information about the help available. And I've been there (got cirrhosis, suffered a variceal bleed out) - he looked like he was going to choke on his own vomit. After about 30 minutes of "friendly" talking he threatened to stab me (he was so drunk he wouldn't have been able to pull a knife from his trousers, let alone use it on me). All I showed him was kindness and in return I had my life threatened. Lesson learned - never help out a stranger on the streets...next time I'll walk on by.

I think you should still help those in need, but do so from a safe distance. There's a local charity in my home city who I occasionally send donations to, and not just money - I send them resources they need for those they help through places like Amazon for food, clothing, toiletries etc. Anyways it is just an idea, and sincerely hope you're okay! A good friend of mine once helped someone on the streets after he fell over a curb, and as he helped him up, the guy became verbally abusive and threatened to beat him up. It was clear he'd taken something, and my friend managed to step away before he could hit him

moronic that your potato brain would over look everything in this video bar the usual right wing nonsense. the reason that the foreigner has a house and the native is on the streets is because the foreigner can pay his rent and buy a camera to "raise awareness" he also isn't sleeping in the door way of a shut down boots because hasn't been an abusive drunk that refuses to address his problems and would rather sit in the street feeling sorry for himself, reading a book on another alcoholic that could afford to get a plush hotel to kill himself in. that is not irony.

I was thinking the same. He said he moved in with his mother after the break up with his ex but he later said he had his own place near his mother's house and would visit her on weekends. His uncomfortable and wriggly demeanor when asked questions he found awkward was very telling.
I think he moved in with that woman who had 2 boys and only a year on he was drinking heavily and unemployed and she could not trust him around her young children. Im not judging him, im just aware of the sad reality of heavy drinking and how it can affect family members and friends. His fall was most Iikely due to drunkenness. I pray he gets help to stop drinking before it kills him. He still can have plenty if good years of life if he stops but he needs rehab and a bed to sleep in.

I wish there were more clinics and rehabilitation hostels for alcoholics. Families tear their hair out as do not wish their loved ones to be charged and turned in to criminals due to the rages this addiction causes. The police do not care as long as they can treat drunkards as subhuman. Many of the social services are inadequate and the workers in it just for the money.

Some of the homeless people are there due to abuse, marriage breakdown all kinds of things. I used to think yes they are alcoholics but that’s not the true or most of the time real story. Our society has become a mess due to a number of factors and there is no quick fix or one element to blame. As a society we should unite and work together to make it better. 🙏🙏🙏

People get benefits and housing in the UK if they're unable to work due to mental health issues, so there is usually more to stories like his.
The homeless problem here is a far-fry from the homeless problem in Pennsylvania USA. Over there, they are left to rot with their limbs falling off.

    • @colourfulcrafts5492
      @colourfulcrafts5492 8 месяцев назад

You'd think people would get benefits for mental health issues easily but actually (and I speak for myself) the DWP make it extremely difficult for this to happen. These days to get anything from them you practically have to lie. They're a joke, the whole system is rigged to fail you. So it's not as straight forward as you think. Just saying.

    Zupa Vlog,
Informative good video, however, can I just say, you are too intrusive with the questions, make the guy know who you are about first, it was just take take take question wise, full on, nevertheless a good interview, big respect to the rich and poor, they say hard work is the key to success, it’s not, using people as your employees to make you rich, working smart, not hard, if you don’t enjoy what you do, it’s work, your currency to wealth is passion.
He’s wrong with drink well, a bottle of tipple sets you back how much?
    £12 each for a bottle, that’s £24 job done,
There are worse addictions out there than that.
I worked in a homeless shelter and saw a lot of people who became homeless due to the widespread chain of amusement arcades and bookies on literally every high street in the uk.
Nevertheless, fantastic video, keep up the good work.
    It could be anyone.
I always treat people with respect.
    Thanks Zupa Vlog

If anyone reads this message. If you ever find yourself in a dark place in life there is hope. Turn to God Did you know that God really loves you and wants a relationship with you. only God can heal your heart and heal your soul and did you know God has a purpose for your life. He is the only one that can love you in the way you need to be loved. He can also set your path straight in your life. He also has a purpose for your life.
There will be a time that we will all face Gods judgement. God is righteous and Holy and we are all sinners. In a court of Law if you commit a crime and you was found guilty you will be punished and be sent to jail. Gods prison is Hell and because we are all sinners we will be found guilty. The 10 commandments is where we see if you have committed any sin’s or not. Have you ever lied? Have you lust over someone? Have you ever taken something that was not yours? Have you ever said omg or used Jesus Christ name as a curse word ? These are only 4 of Gods commandments and if you have said yes to any of these questions I’m not judging you but on judgement day God will judge you and will find you guilty for these sins and will be sent to eternal punishment.
The good news is Jesus Christ came and paid the price for your sins He took the punishment we deserve . He died on the cross and If you believe in your heart that Jesus died and was raised on the third day and repent of your sins and ask in prayer for forgiveness of your sins you will be saved. Which means on judgement day because you have believed and trusted and have faith in Jesus Christ on judgement day God will let you go and you will be saved from going to eternal punishment.
Jesus was sacrificed to save you and everybody else because of the love He has for us John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
The gospel is not God hatefully saying turn to me or I'll send you to Hell the gospel is God's mercy and Grace saying you're already on your way to Hell turn to me and I’ll save you.
Download the gate way bible app and read the gospel of John and you can learn how Jesus came to save you.
Remember this life is temporary what matters more is what comes next.
