Hi, You are absolutely right! The mother is the first person who should apply for the Canada Child Benefit (CCB). Even if you don’t have tax documents yet, you can still apply. If you or your spouse were non-residents of Canada for part of the year, you’ll need to report your world income (income from all sources inside and outside Canada) for that period. You may need to fill out one or two additional forms for this purpose. You can apply online through CRA My Account or by mail. Here’s the link for more details: www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/e-services/digital-services-individuals/account-individuals.html
@@mariicorg7599 Hi, I really looked at best possible solution to your problem. If you're a newcomer to Canada and haven’t filed taxes yet, the best way to apply for the Canada Child Benefit (CCB) is to contact CRA and mail your application. Since you need tax information (Line 15000) to register for CRA My Account, applying online isn’t possible right now. When applying by mail: Include the completed CCB application form. Provide proof of residency (like your PR card) and your world income details for the period you were a non-resident. Call CRA for guidance-they’ll help you with the process and ensure your application is complete. Once you’ve filed your first tax return, online applications will be easier in the future.
Hi, Please use this link, it will provide all information along with final url to apply: www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/child-family-benefits/canada-child-benefit-overview/canada-child-benefit-apply.html
Besides childcare benefits, I heard about rental benfits from the govt. Can you say something on that please? Also, do children get free education here?
Hi.. While there is a Canada Housing Benefit, I believe it might not be active anymore. However, when calculating your eligible Child Care Benefit amount, the total rent you've paid for your primary residence is considered as a deduction in the net income calculations. I'm currently working on a new video with detailed CCB calculations and will keep you posted. Regarding free education for children, yes, it is free for all. @@Chashuvlogs I guess there are s9me about rental funding from govt as of today. I heard some from a guy who just went with PNP in swaskachen province. Just around 2 months and on he went there. He gets such funds.
I am here in canada on work permit, my daughter came along with me as depended. Later, after 5month my husband also joined here on work permit. Am I eligible for CCB from my 19th month of staying? Do I need to apply as family or only I have to show my income proof as she is my dependent.
Hi, Yes, you are eligible for CCB after 18 months. In the following calendar year, you and your husband (if he has started earning) will need to file your income tax by the end of April. When you do, the CCB amount will be automatically calculated, and you'll have the option to apply. It's best to disclose both incomes, as the benefit amount is based on your family's net income.
