What's amazing about this band is that they are ALL World Class musicians, and instead of the arrogance or competition that would typically happen with all of this skill and talent assembled, they seem to inspire each other to raise their game to the next level, and enjoy seeing each other excel, individual, collectively and even with guest artists. Micheal League has created an all-time greatest band, considering how many moving parts there are.
This is why I like Casiopia. The Mint Jams album is full of moments where they're trading solos and playing around, having fun and helping each other be their best.
Mike and Corey deliver a masterclass at 1:21. Corey heads into his riff, Mike hears him extending melodic line and quickly changes his bass fill to a walking bass line that delivers them both safely back to the 1 chord. Legends are born when you can find that "zone" and spontaneously create what would take days or months to compose on paper.
The moment you realize Cory was probably gonna do something different on the end of that lick at 1:27 but heard where micheal was going and matched it with those disgusting chords on the fly!
I always love watching Shaun's expressions when Cory is playing..like Shaun is incredible but even he is just stunned by what comes out of Cory's fingers
@@antoine20008 The other keyboard player. He's a legend, you should check him out ! (Unforuantely, he suffered from a stroke lately, so he's in recovery and not performing with the band atm, but hopefully he'll get better and go back to playing!)
at 1:28 Cory hears that michael squishes in a 36251 progression leading from Db to A and Cory actually adjusts his 16th note line and voicings in the left hand. Crazy how fast he can switch. there is none like that guy
i have watched this video an unbelievable amount of times and i always wished the full thing was available. What a jam this is. Can’t get enough of watching the members faces during cory’s solo
I'm happy as a kid that I scrolled down to see what the comments where right after I heard and saw the 1:29 moment, just to find this to be the first comment. Being on the same page with fellow music enthusiasts💥 In my opinion these kind of gigs are exactly what video recording was invented for. Thanks for posting!
Cory and Micheal must have a mental connection or something... they left me speechless everytime.. THAT SOLO BTW :O I want to put my keyboards down forever... AWESOME

No way this vid only has 500k views because I know for a fact that I have watched this video like 1000002934848558869594095939030400599543 times over the last almost 10 years and my reaction is still the same as my very first view. this truly a timeless piece.
There is only Snarky Puppy and Cory Henry together that manage too make my throat squeeze, and tears coming to my eyes, with just heavy groove and unbelievable musical keyboard chorus. It's insane !
I've seen these guys live a couple times. The energy between the band and the crowd is off the charts. Corey wasn't with them both times so I wished Corey toured with them more, but Shaun Martin is the real deal too. Like any truly great band, they listen to each other, they adjust, they flow....they are dynamic, and it makes all the difference in the world.
siccness......i know this was on the fly i can see it on their faces ...its just so damn fonky i keep jumpin back to the begining in disbeleife thank u to whoever captured this greatness on video
what. Seriously WHAT!? These guys are too much! Please tell me theres a second part to this or someone captured the end when shaun martin starts playing over the horn line!!!!
I may get to see Cory twice in concert today. I'm already filling to overflow after 5 hours of NOT WORKING (I should be but I am so excited!) already today while digging Cory and his fans (who cover his solos on guitar and bass!). What shape will I be in at 11pm tonight on the last downbeat? Cory, we dig ya.
All joy, even after 10years...
We'd miss Shaun Martin so much 😢
It was at that moment that the keyboard realized what it was capable of achieving

Shaun's face with that reharm at the end is priceless.
So fucking funky!!!!!
he looks like he hit his head on something
6 years later and this still one of the best skate u performances. still bopping to this
So true! And this is why it's so frustrating that there is No Full clip of this performance to be found on RUclips!
I guess we just had to be there
😮💨
@@lugiakid781 You still there man?! I guess still this is one of the best performances
@@kalirocketdev Im still here, I got this downloaded on my phone now and listen to it on my way to classes to get me pumped for the day!

Corey Henry has soooo many options to take when he plays and he always chooses the classiest ways to play a solo......

I think it was the other way around. Mike played a 3625 and Cory followed him, that’s why they are so impressed
@@steverichardson7971yeah you're right man

These are the chords at the end reharm if youre wondering: Am7 Abm7 Gm7 C7 Gb7 F7 E7 E7/G# Am7 Eb7 D7 G7 Am7 Eb7 D7 G7
God bless you brother
I just hear the Gb7 tbh. I don't hear him go from C7 to Gb7. Rest seems right.
Still my favourite solo.
I still say so myself lol
It’s mine too. Idk when he gets on the synth it’s just magic
shaun Martin's reharm at the end...

1:25 - 1:28 is so dope! The run in the right hand, the chords in the left, the bass player doing the walk down, all in syncopation... Blew my mind! :D
I can’t stop watching the 251 at 1:26. Absolutely mind-blowing musicianship in this band.
I'm still kinda new to number theory, but i thought that was a 6, b6 ,5, 1
@@aaron23miller no its a 3-6-2-5-1
@@engvallfam can the 2 sometimes be substituted for a b6, or is it always 2??
@@aaron23miller I’ve heard a few rnb songs that use a b6major instead of a 2 but a 2 will always be a 2

OFFICALLY A FAN OF THE BASS PLAYER! SO ON POINT. LOVE HIS GROVE
FACES HE MAKES ARE PRICELESS!
Michael league; D
It's his band; he wrote and produced most of the songs that they perform.
Michael league is tough
