  • The custom windows ordered for the breakfast nook have a unique rounded design on top. Tommy and Charlie have the job of installing them, a job that takes special skills. Roofing manufacturers are always looking for ways to make shingling a house better. Kevin finds Charlie trying a shingle that makes installation a little easier. Cape Ann was the birthplace of the fishing industry in America. The cod that was pulled in off these shores fed the entire world. While stocks of this famous fish are down, the fishing industry is still a big part of life in Gloucester. Roger and Kevin have decided to hire a local guide to show them the ropes of cod fishing.

    There is no surprise that there are large expanses of cedar shingles on our shingle style project. But the architect wants to break up the pattern. Tommy shows Kevin how he does it with a diamond on the upper facade. The mudroom has lots of windows and there is not enough floor space to allow the radiant panels to provide enough heat. Richard finds Kevin Bilo installing radiant in the ceiling.

    What a wonderful episode that has it all. Those amazing masons with those incredible stone entry walls and bluestone steps, those hardworking and skilled roofers, Tommy working his magic laying diamond pattern cedar shingles, Richard cruising the premises making sure things are done right, and then ole Roger and Kevin out there fishing! Hard to see Roger laboring though and know this was one of his last episodes. Sure miss him!
    Beyond that - where are the continuing episodes of this amazing home???

      Had our roof done in 2014 with asphalt shingles. Seven man crew, 4,400 sq ft. Stripped off old single layer, replaced a few roof boards, cut in ridge vents, flashing, new drip edge. Done in one day, less than 9 hours. That whole crew hustled all day long. No issues with roof in the seven years since.

      @@flat-earther its flat right?

    • @flat-earther
      @flat-earther 2 года назад

      @@christybambi In my opinion yes because there is no curvature which is impossible if the earth is a globe.
      Many people have measured large frozen lakes for curvature and found none but you don't have to believe them because you can test it yourself.
      But I don't merely suggest believing what I or others may say. I suggest investigating and making up your own mind. I opened a door of information to you that you may have not heard before and you get to choose what to do with it.
