    Paul, I'm liking the channel immensely. Your no hype and just a fella who like to be in the wood cooking a meal. Just a real good time.

    Paul, I have been using a Sterno stove folding aluminum grill for setting pots and frying pans on. Works really well. No worry about tipping over while having a pint. Really just found your channel and enjoy your videos of those beautiful forest.

    Good seeing you Paul. I was with you on RUclips when you were hardly able to walkabout. You're doing so much better nowadays. GOOD GOING 👍. I think that 🐛 caterpillar was sharing their log with you, 😆. Even with the heat source he/she was pretty strident about staying there.

    Paul, you should try a corned beef hash. One pot cooking at its best, onion, potato, small tin of corned beef, Worcester sauce and a bit of gravy powder.

    Watched a few of your videos Paul....you're certainly NOT useless mate. I love your easy calm approach to the use of the gear and cooking etc. I have just bought a Trangia 27 and alcohol and gas burner. Gonna use one for the brew and the other for the cooking. It's mainly for use when I go out on my motorbike for a brew and a fry up really, so I can just stop wherever and whenever I want. Looking forward to it !

    Thank you for introducing me to your mini-adventures! Recent health issues have strangled any ideas of strenuous activity here so dreams of attacking any project like the AT, PCT, P45 or even the Pennine Way is just ludicrous. But you've shown me that I can still wander a short distance from the car-park, meet some wildlife, cook a simple meal and return home wearing a big smile on my face! One question remains tho...... does bear-repellant spray work on caterpillars?

    • @PaulBissekerBushcraft
      @PaulBissekerBushcraft  6 лет назад +1

      I find if you give a Caterpillar a good stiff talking to they just do whatever they want! Bear spray might be the best way! The short walks are just as nice ;)

    This is awesome Paul. I’ve got a trangia and a zebra lunchbox. I use it to make a brew but I was thinking today...could you cook a decent meal on something so small. Off to YT and there you are! Great pro-tips all through this vid - Thanks again! Mark.

    Good video Paul I used my Trangia 27 for the first time last night and very good but thought it burnt the fuel quickly.

    • @PaulBissekerBushcraft
      @PaulBissekerBushcraft  7 лет назад

      Use the simmer ring to save fuel. It helps.

    • @andrewmoon1898
      @andrewmoon1898 6 лет назад

      It’s been a long time since I used a basic gas cooker alongside the Trangia, but I found over a week I spent less on meths (from a hardware shop) than I did on gas canisters. I have stuck with the Trangia ever since, 27, triangle and solo. They seem to be the marmite of the camping world. The bonus is you get your own time frame per fill which comes in really handy for putting on a stew whilst setting up your tent, no worry of it falling over.

    Hi Paul. Thanks for a great little video. I enjoyed this. I dislike hearing anyone putting themselves down. You are most certainly not useless my friend. There are always plenty of A-holes that are ready to put you down, so don't do it to yourself. Just keep getting out and about, and more good video's like this. I always like the look of British and European woods. So much nicer than the very harsh Australian bush. Do you mind me asking what area you live in? Thanks.

    Paul. Like your chanel. A tip I was given. When using the fire starter. Hold the steel still and pull the rod away from the trangia. Still sparks but stops knocking the stove over.

    • @berincon86
      @berincon86 6 лет назад

      which is best to use with the trangia burner, methanol or ethanol ? thanks

    • @PaulBissekerBushcraft
      @PaulBissekerBushcraft  6 лет назад +1

      Trangia say it's a spirit burner so i guess any high alcohol content fuel will be ok. I find if the fuel isn't high in alcohol it will get dirty quickly and soot up. I add a little water to my Meths to stop it blackening the pots. Try different fuels and see which one burns the cleanest.

    Tran-gia sounds Italian, maybe a traverse route?, it is pronounced Thrang-eeya since it was first made in Trångsund "Trång-sund" "Narrow Strait/Neck".

    • @PaulBissekerBushcraft
      @PaulBissekerBushcraft  6 лет назад

      Yes i know in the UK it's not pronounced correctly. Thanks for the information.

      @EattinThurs61 6 лет назад +1

      Paul Bisseker Bushcraft well I am a know it all ☺ Trangia burners are very good, in comparison, at height and in cold conditions. In the middle ages there was a town in , what is now, southern Sweden named after London "Luntuntun " (London town) which was the old name for London, York was called ""Jorvik " during the viking age. If I where in wood in England I would use a wood burning stove but on a hill in Cumbria or Yorkshire a spirit burner.

    • @steveha3925
      @steveha3925 6 лет назад +1

      Check around for an interview with the current head of Trangia. His pronunciation is closer to "Traniya" or "Tranyia". Maybe it's a local dialect thing.

    • @EattinThurs61

      steveH a I tried to spell out a pronounciation för english speakers. I know how it sounds in Swedish. It is whit a twang in trang like in twang . Hence I wrote THRANG it is like song, sanguine or throuff but trang like twang but a more guttural g. Throngh but a t not th ( which is the old thurs Rune sound which in early latin lettered English texta where written with an Y ye olde shoppe =The old shop Y=th) Trångsund is pronounced like strong without the s.

    Great informative video Paul. I’ve got the triangle and will try it for a brew next time I’m out. I’ve also got the 25 which I’ve had for years and have just ordered the 27 to cut down on pack size for motorbike touring etc. I noticed you have both the 25 and the 27. Quick question, have you found the 27 notably more efficient than the 25 with it being that much smaller?
    The trangia stuff is all brilliant for different purposes but find when frying with the 25 the heat is very focussed on the centre and much cooler around the outside?
    Thanks, Paul

    • @PaulBissekerBushcraft
      @PaulBissekerBushcraft  5 лет назад

      I tend to use a folding windshield when frying with 25 even the 27 as the heat blows away. I haven't noticed any difference between them for cooking. Then i haven't thought about it. I have the billy can for the 27 so i can use it for larger meals to share. If you want one look at the "Trangia 24 Camp Set" you get a lot for your money.

    • @paulb7200

    Interesting video Paul. How do you find the fit of the Bulin gas burner on the Trangia Triangle? Just got one today and it doesn't sit level in the holder of the triangle. I'm sure it will still work OK but just wondered if that was your experience of it.

    • @PaulBissekerBushcraft
      @PaulBissekerBushcraft  5 лет назад +1

      The gas adapter doesn't clip in, it just sits there like the spirit burner. I just jiggle it about until it levels out. You won't have any problems as long as you don't kick it over. Let us know what you think after using it for a bit ;)
