First time mama, 21 weeks today and it is so true to stay focused on staying true to yourself and your vision on YOUR birth , the more you know what you want the easier it is to brush off others may I say , silly and unnecessary statements! Thank you for the great tips 😊 you guys look soooo happy in that photo you shared , despite the clothes not being comfy for ya lol !
I am so excited I found your channel! My daughter is having her first child at the end of July and was told she should consider hiring a doula, so she asked me if I would consider filling that role for her. I have been scouring the internet and RUclips and found you. 😊 I am looking into doula classes online and would be so grateful for any advice you want to throw my way. Since I began looking into it I have been thinking I may want to do this on a regular basis. I homeschooled all 4 of my kids and am an almost empty nester. So every year since retiring from homeschooling I try to learn something new and this year I will become a doula.🎉 I just finished watching 2 of your other videos and they were very informative. I will be looking for more of them as I find the time! THANKS!
So glad you are here Amy! It's so sweet that your daughter asked you to be her doula. You would really love taking a comprhensive childbirth class. If you would like to take the online class that I teach you can use this link for 20% off! birthtoolbox.com/YT20off
@@birthtoolbox thank you so much for the discount! That looks awesome! I have a question...I am trying to decide if it is worth paying for a DONA certified which costs $595 or just do a self-study (I'm a very diligent student). The materials in your class look so comprehensive I feel like doing the DONA class may be an excess, and possibly unnecessary expenditure. I live in WV, by the way, and my daughter will be delivering in TN. I really want to do this for my daughter and I see the possibilities of a potential business, I just don't know how far I want to dip my toe in. Is it possible to do this on a small scale to start with without certifications? Thanks in advance! I can't wait to get started on this.
Hi Amy, this is a great question! If you are self motivated then I think you can skip the DONA class for now. That will focus on how to run a doula business and if you aren't ready for that (yet) then, I would focus on your skills now. I'm excited to have you in the Birth Toolbox class. I know that you will learn a lot! Inside the class are additional homework videos to watch. I recommend watching those as well. Some people skip the homework, but if you want to lock in that information then I would make sure to do those too. At any time you run into a question, just reach out. I'm happy to help and am excited for you and your role with your daughter. Alice
Oh, the joys and surprises of labor and delivery! It's comforting to know that even with mistakes, the journey of becoming a parent is filled with learning experiences. By the way, we've reached out to you via email for a potential collaboration opportunity.
Your tips and insights are valuable, and I appreciate your honesty in discussing these mistakes. By the way, I emailed you regarding a potential collaboration opportunity related to childbirth. Looking forward to hearing from you soon! Keep up the informative content!
"The fateful day of delivery" sent me LOL That's such a dramatic way to put it!
