I do not get tired of you, Cole! You make me think of my son.......who left for the Marine Corp. If you were my son, I would bring you a lunch basket, every once in a while! GOD Bless you, Cole!
The view at 3:49 WOW!! I know I’ve been commenting a lot on your videos. But overall I think it helps. Cole you have the most awesome father. He could so easily just hate what you’re doing with the cameras and all. What I’d give to do ANYTHING with my father. And you’re documenting it forever. It’s really special what you’re doing. Please never take a second of it for granted. I could literally watch y’all build a fence all day long. Actually these fence videos are some of my favorite to watch.
Good morning, Cole and Brian. Just watching some of your older videos. Nope I don't get tired of watching you do fences. Cuz you two are working together. I always even as a real young boy helped dad work on whatever he was doing. Blessings on your families! Ed from Chicago! 🙂 10/21/22
Making fence with my father when i was a kid, was so frustrating. we used wooden posts, and, dug them with the two handled post hole diggers. He would never buy any new wire or staples, we just patched the wire, and, he used to have me straighten out the old staples with a hammer on whatever rock was laying around. But, despite my frustration, i did love working with my dad, he taught me the lesson of making do with what you have.
You may not be hunting but nice to wear bright clothing during hunt season if being out there. Thankful for farmers and ranchers for their hard work of providing food. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Keeping them keddle ahind them there wire walls is a chore, dad blasted y'all seem ta be perty good at it, excepting for that one steeple on that one post out of wood. Thanks for the video, and here's wishing your Family and Friends a Happy Thanksgiving... A howdy from east Texas..
Thank you for the Vlog very interesting. Also thank you for the close-up shot on the post , I was wondering how you attach The Wire. I also like the new accent! You are an asset to your family. I never hear you complain about anything. Have a great Thanksgiving. NorCal
Hi Mate..🇦🇺 Another good looking fence...😎👍The wire strainers you guy's use there in the US is a heck of lot different than the one's we use here in Australia... Are you star pickets( T-post) galvenised, bitumen dipped.? Here we usually run drop post's (railway line) every1km between end post assembly's. We use galvenised droppers between our star pickets, this allows us to distant the star pickets 10 meters apart. The droppers purpose is to hold the wires in position so as cattle can not seperate the wires between the star pickets.. We design our fence like this to maximize effectiveness and reduce costs, due to the fact that we have hundreds and hundreds of km's of fence lines on our station..
Yes our strainers are totally different. Looking at you using yours, I must say ours look safer. Look up Hayes wire strainers H300. Should be able to get them posted to the U.S. I often get stuff from the U.S.
How long do you expect those cedar(if that's what they are) post to last ? Hedge (Osage orange) is King around here but you gotta cut'em out of the timber yourself but an 8 inch post might last 35 to 50 years ! They also aren't that straight so you gotta dig a hole to set them ! Something about new fence is very satisfying , don't see much on any ground as flat as that in Illinois mostly on hills and hollers where it's real difficult to build fence but where the pasture ground is ! Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for the video !
We dont have to be it helps keep the fence from leaning over and sinking in. The Metal posts move a lot easier so adding in wood posts helps extend the life of the fence a lot.
Rob Brent The Swedish government desided to make it illegal to put up new barbed wire back in 2010. Only nets and electric fences are allowed. The reason is that cattle and especially horses can get severe cuts if they are caught in the wire.
Northpoint Farm - thanks, can’t see that would ever happen here in Africa. Cow hides can have a lot of character in them from barbed wire scratches and African is a rough place, unlike Europe🤔 Under the impression that we have to import scratch free hides from Europe for our car manufacturing plants.
The skies in your videos are beautiful!
They are!

Thank you so much!
You and your Dad made a good pair both you are so funny
You are a good son, helping your dad. I am sure he appreciates it.

Call that post driver “Big Tappy”
As a father it don't get any better than being able to work together. But remember Dad usually knows the right way to do it.

8:22 You know you're gonna pay for that one sooner or later lol...Happy Thanksgiving to you and the family
good video
Sky at 3:45 looked awesome
I'm over in southeastern south Dakota myself. Couple miles out of Renner South Dakota
It sounds like the barbed wire is tuned in low D.
Nice video
I would think that a controlled burn of the dead grass under the
fence wires would make it easier to replace ?

"It'd kinda suck to get hit"
yea, haha, it would
Y’all sound just like I do… I grew up about 50 miles east of you…
Why do you need to put in log posts among metal posts? Is it for extra support? Thanks for the videos.
We dont have to be it helps keep the fence from leaning over and sinking in. The Metal posts move a lot easier so adding in wood posts helps extend the life of the fence a lot.
I'm surprised that you did not burn the vegetation on the fence line or at least "Brush Hog" it...
Just out of curiosity why the wood posts? I don't live with the snow so I'm sure it's different there, but wondering what the wood posts do.
cows lean the fence over grazing the other side of the fence if you dont stagger with wood posts
What type of coyotes or wolves problems do you have on your ranch/farm
They dont cause too much issue for us actually, they are hunted pretty well in the area
I always like building fence never was a big fan of woven wear fencing.
👍👍👍👏👏👏
Go Packers!!!
G'day
How’s the pheasant hunting this year?
Not very good because there is still a good amount of corn still in and some tall cover crops making it hard to see them
Must been a bad staple
👏👍🙂
Go Pack Go
How'd that Packers game turn out lol
Haha I think you already know
Was there a special reason that you didn't cut back all the brush under the fence?
Steven Horne it’ll all get eaten down or stomped down good natural snow fence too hahaha
love me some plowing and love me some straight tight fence, farm porn. (and yes i dont get out much)
Nice work! But i dont miss working with barbed wire, kinda glad its illegal here in sweden now 😅
Northpoint Farm - Cole glad you collect the wire instead of just leaving it there. NF can you expand on barbed wire being illegal?
All that used wire we pile up and take it to the salvage yard
Rob Brent The Swedish government desided to make it illegal to put up new barbed wire back in 2010. Only nets and electric fences are allowed. The reason is that cattle and especially horses can get severe cuts if they are caught in the wire.
Sonne Farms Good for you Cole👏👏
