When I dance with a follower who likes to swing open, I feel like it cuts off my ability to lead some patterns, especially those I had intended to begin with a rock and go. Maybe I'm waiting too long to initiate the rock and go, but I think for partners that don't swing open, my rock and go leads usually feel smooth and succeed as intended.
