Thank you! We are trying to explain the moves in a way that is easier to understand. We have a ton more videos on this channel as well as our site www.westcoastswingonline.com. We have many detailed courses that you may be interested in.
In west coast swing there are basic steps that are 6 counts and basic moves that are 8 counts. And yes it is confusing. West coast swing goes to 8 count music but the 6 count basics come from other styles of swing. It makes wcs very fun when you get the hang of it 😊
As a leader, I'm going to have to disagree with you on this video. I don't need my follower to know any of these patterns because I can just lead them. The one pattern I do need my followers to know is missing from your list: the passing tuck turn. (I can lead it for well-trained followers but beginners tend to either run ahead too fast and miss the turn, or don't know to arc back onto the slot afterwards.)
As long time teachers we will have to agree to disagree. West coast swing is a very hard dance to lead someone who does not know the dance. The passing tuck does get lost every once in a while, we do have it in a lot of our other videos. It is definitely a harder one to lead and to follow. Check out our videos on the passing tuck and see if they can help 😊
