Ever since the countdown started, I've been trying to wrap my head around what Vegapunk could say that would impact the world of One Piece. There's certainly a lot of Lore Piece information we as fans would love to know. However, what's most important in the story right now. To hook the audience with "The world is going to sink into the sea" is simple, profound, easily understood by all people, and impacts the entire world. To lead with this shows Oda's maturity as a writer and understanding of the situation. Great reaction and discussion Roger!

He captured not only the people at large in the show but also us outside of it. Sure we outside the story as a whole has some context here and there that they in the story don't, but even with those context Vegapunk has their attention in the same way Oda has ours.
This shows how good Oda is at writing and building story and character because we truly feel like we are living and experiencing with them!

I think its the translator's problem. As far as i have seen , sanji hasnt had any heart shaped eyes on bonney. My theory is simple. Sanji does want to be her favourite person but more in the coolest guy i know way rather than the guy i love.
@@mayursharma7594 I doubt Sanji has a sixth sense for sensing that Bonney is a kid, because I doubt she has told anyone. Plus even if he knew I don't think Sanji cares about kids enough to want to impress Bonney, if he knew how old she is. He was a dick to the kids in Punk Hazard for no reason.
Oda hasn't shown him explicitely simping for Bonney because he still doesn't want it to look that bad, but I can see him setting up a gag for later when Sanji finds out and he feels conflicted between his morality and his lust.

When I first read the chapter, I thought the "him" that Vegapunk was referring to was Joyboy, but after watching other people's reactions and thinking about it it makes way more sense for it to be Imu. And if it is, does this mean next chapter Vegapunk will give us some concrete information about him?

Vegapunk is saying that those lines as a double meaning. There’s importance to everything Vegapunk is saying.
Vegapunk’s message is purposely left ambiguous at that part. He probably is referring to Imu, but at the same time, it could also be Joy Boy.
We as the readers have that extra knowledge/context that characters in the story don’t have. Remember that everyone listening to this message right now currently thinks the Straw Hat Pirates are holding Vegapunk as a hostage. When they hear those words, those people are going to assume he’s talking about Luffy.
BUT - With the people’s reactions from around the OP world, we also see the panel with each of ghe Gorosei’s grave expressions/reactions IMMEDIATELY after Vegapunk mentioned about “Right/wrong”, and “Him”. They even started having a bit of panic, with Mars even bringing up just blowing the entire building up, which would essentially wipe out all the marines here, the mother flame/power source, York, etc.
Vegapunk is doing this because he already knows the World Government was going to spin this incident/cover it up. So he’s just playing 4D chess against the Gorosei’s checker match.

The chapter when Vegapunk said the Ancient Kingdom was advanced made me think of Disney's Atlantis The Lost Empire. They had advanced technology but their abuse of it led to their entire civilization sinking into the sea. It fits
Theory here - Joyboy turned the civilians of the Ancient Kingdom into half fishman (the fishman are the decendants of the ancient kingdom which is why the WG don't like them) with his awakening so they would survive on the bottom of the ocean, that's why he was sorry cause he wasn't able to turn them back. Joyboy was ready for the world to flood so that's why he built them the Noah so when he turned them back to human they could live on the ocean until all the "drain holes" around the world like Enies Lobby drained the sea - All the enemies of the WG are prepared for a world wide flood - Zunisha who is 25km's tall and Wano, who's walls were probably created by Nika.
I also theorised ages ago that Joyboy was the creater of the DF's, his awakening allowed people's wills to become so free they created the DF's. Imu controls the sea (creating a flood somehow) so therefore his/her will resents Nika which means going against DF's.
How I understand this is that "upside down" doesn't mean turning the world upside down because the One Piece or Roger would sink the world (not evil) BUT turning the world upside down because the world has ALREADY sunk in the ocean in the past. So basically through Roger and WB's words, turning the world upside down means reverting it to what it once was.

This was a great stream! This might be one of my favorite chapters of egghead it’s unbelievable how good this arc has been and the theories were great! I can’t wait for the next chapter!

Duvall is going to be at this year’s Sanji Restaurant at Universal Studios Japan in July so for sure something is happening with him down the line
I'm so happy we are getting call backs to two of my favorite arcs that don't get enough love that they deserve Syrup Village and Fishman Island!! Also everything is coming together:

Seeing Sanji use the blade to jump up with more force and kick Nusjuro in the face reminds me of when Sanji jumps on Zoros swords and Zoro helps throw him with more momentum. Imagine if they were actually fighting and Sanji used Zoros sword to get more momentum and kick Zoro.
Also Zoro about to face someone who uses legs to attack is gonna show us what Zoro could have done if he really wanted to fight Sanji.

@@maximwb237 their constant bickering and fighting has given them some experience for Sanji to fight a sword user and for Zoro fighting someone who uses their legs and that is now very handy. Sanji once told Usopp during Enies Lobby "You do what I can't and I'll do what you can't", Zoro and Sanji have (probably) intentionally taught one another to fight against someone in their own style so they both can handle a situation if the other isn't there.

my favorite part of this chapter was my best girl Jewelry Bonney using her newfound hope and belief in JoyBoy to go FUCKING GIANT MODE OUT OF NOWHERE!
like, i knew she was gonna be strong after seeing Nika for the first time and we even saw her get right back up to punch Saturn after that happened, but this was just so cool to see in my opinion. i love Bonney, so seeing her not only back on her feet after that horrible blast of Kuma's memories but fighting strong and freely just like Luffy does? that fills my heart to see. i hope when it gets animated they actually show us when she curbstomps Venusjuro's face because that will be a clip i go back to watch for ETERNITY
also, this finally gives us an answer as to why in the hell Oda gave us Noah all those years ago in Fishman Island. we all theorized a sort of Great Flood reference given the name being so obvious but now we have concrete confirmation that the world is going to sink, so i think its fair to assume that Noah is going to LITERALLY be a rendition of the Arc from the Bible. i am so excited to see who all makes it on board to brave the storms into the future
Putting it here to collect my thoughts. The Ancient Kingdom turned to Piracy because their land was Sinking. Their 3 Flagships became the legendary Ancient Weapons, feared by the conservative land-lovers as they were capable of housing whole countries worth op people. The land people tried halting the sinking by systematically blowing holes in the planet, causing the wacky weather and targeting allies of the Pirates.
Also, I want Franky to dock the Sunny to the 3 Ancient Ships as well as Water 7 and potentially Thriller Bark as well Megazord Style, powered by Gear 5 Luffy.
Rogers crew are built different..probably they knew that the World will sink into the sea, so one chose laboon 🐳 to live inside it and the other one have been working on coating ships ..for me this is laughtale 😂😂

depending on how high the sea levels are supposed to rise, there are a number of places that would be safe from flooding should imu send everything underwater. wano, marijoa, water 7, amazon lily, zou, the tops of the drum kingdom mountains, and the floating island capone visited would all be just above water level
I haven’t seen really anyone talk about the Giant quote a few chapters back. Something about the Gorosei looking like creatures from the Elbaf forest. Curious if they were “oppressed beings” (or felt that way at least) and rose to power via devil fruits or something way cooler Oda can come up with…hahaha

Sanji did not say that in a romantic way at all, he just wants to be liked by all females in all ages, he just want to be popular with the female gender not necessary for sexual reasons. Bonny is confusing for him but he saw one kid version and one full grown women version, he don't know which version is the real age of Bonny.
For all vegapunks supposedly know about devil fruits, I'm not sure if you can rule out that's part of his awakening powers to detach his brain to keep working individually?

I’ve been re-reading Egghead and in Chapter 1062 I think alluded to the War between the One Kingdom vs the 20 Kingdoms and the one kingdom lost. THe introduction of Egghead with the Giant Robot and the Space Alien creature hologram that Luffy and crew saw stirred something in me. There is in fact a Wounded Giant Robot talking about Joyboy and there’s a direct allusion to something likely a giant space monster (IMU?). I think with the possibility of IMU the alien some ancient time crashed into OP world and stuck here forever, unable to produce enough energy to get back into their homeland in space? This is when Vegapunk talking about IMU’s intention when Vegapunk told everyone not to assume IMU’s rendering judgement unto him is a bad or a good thing. It could just be IMU using the entirety of humanity as an experiment and tools to try to get back to their world. I’m not surprised if that’s why IMU may have started the Devil Fruits themselves to submit the entire world to its will if anyone choose to eat the fruits and be weak to water. Just like Orochi did to much of Wano, giving smile fruits as a sustenance but also a way to keep the populace ‘happy’ and ‘full’ of hope, butt ultimately able to control them when they want to. Kinda like the One Ring controlling the others in LOTR. I have more of these theories in my notebook somewhere years ago, but egghead is where i get to break these out again. Most myths should be presented with “healing” instead of utter destruction, so I think it will end with Luffy ‘helping’ Imu regain their agency or getting back to their homeland. Or something along that line. Maybe at first Imu was okay with humanity but after getting quite discontent with human nature, Imu grew to hate humanity and consider them insects and such, and brought about the 5 goroseis to convey its will, and if Imu dehumanizes humanity enough, then maybee doing anything bad to humanity will be justified. Sinking the world is just to get to the point where humanity can finally help Imu get out of this world. Utilitarianism is at play here people. I can see the vision.

Maybe the whole one piece thing is like something precious to the sea itself. Imagine like a heart of the ocean someone stole and nature is trying to get it back, therefore raising the sea level. Maybe Imu has that heart because it grants immortality or something, it could also be the seed of the most important tree of the world (aka the devil fruit tree) who has its roots down to the ground of the ocean, kinda like we saw in fishmen island. Just some ideas of mine nothing special

Couldn’t the One Piece planet be held in a cycle of a natural flooding and ebbing? So the Gorosei/Imu aren’t the reason that the world is sinking. Which is why Vegapunk doesn’t blame them. They’re just trying to survive the flood by being on the Red line. So the ancient kingdom was a victim to the flood not the celestial dragons. Joyboy was a dreamer and wanted everyone to survive the flood and maybe developed the ancient weapons (pluton - a boat / Poseidon - control over sea kings used to travel across a flooded planet) with that plan.
Talking about Ohara and Egghead ... It's confirmed now that Sakazuki would turn on these Gorosei 💯 ... He doesn't like them in the first place ... About Robin, Kuzan be like: It's me actually 🤗
