  • Hey guys, in this video I will be showing you how to make your gelly roll pens to work again. It's simple but time consuming. At the end of the video, there's a brief summary so I hope it helps. I will also link my Instagram below so you could see an actual worded post to help!
    Thank you guys for watching and stay tuned to the next! Sorry for the weird lighting, I didn't realize how you couldn't see some ink so I changed in while editing :)

    yes this work but also it doesn't come out sometimes for me so do this trick
    get a container something small enough to where the pen can stand in then fill it with HOT water and put the pen in for about 10 seconds and check if it does't work repeat till it does

      Just pinned this for reference to try for myself and for anyone else that discovers the video! Thanks :)

      That’s exactly what I did and now mine are working perfectly! 😁

      Sorry for reviving this comment but I’m new to gel pens. The Dollar Tree pens by Jot work way better IMO. My Gellyroll pens skip sometimes and smear badly. They are very watery. Do I just have a bad batch? But I wanted to ask if you have to take the pen apart to soak it in hot water?

      How much water should I use

    Thanks to you! We saved the metallic ones that were skipping. But the graveyard of dead white gel pens continues to grow.

    I put all of mine in really warm water for a few minutes (just the part that holds the ink), and now they’re all working perfectly! I tried to use the alcohol, but it didn’t work for my pens. I’m just so happy that I found these AWESOME pens! I’ll never spend money on any other brand. I’ve never heard of Gelly Roll pens, but thank goodness for Amazon…and RUclips! 🙌😁🖊

      That's actually a good recommendation as well! (I know I just don't have the patience for that but I'll be sure to try it one day!) 😊 thanks Melissa

    *Thank you!* I tried what seemed like all the suggestions floating around the internet (alcohol swab, soaking in warm water, continuous scribbling, etc.) but I didn't think of replacing the tip with another working one. Brilliant

    That’s a good idea for empty pens to reuse tips. I broke a few tips by tapping on the tips like you were doing. You should tap on side of pen repeatedly till air is out. Take your tip off then Soak your tips in hot / warm water if still clogged use a pin/ needle to try to unclog the tip. If it’s oil based use acetone

      And for water based ? What do I use in place of acetone?

    To get the air pocket out just remover the inside and blow into the back of the pen be careful as ink may come out of the tip

    • @WarFoxThunder
      @WarFoxThunder 2 года назад

      but how do you remove the inside? do i need to use tweezers, cuz it seemingly ruins the pen tip.

      What are you asking? The little ball inside the metal piece?
      Just bang it against a hard surface but just make sure that you're able to catch it to put it back inside! A tweaser might help you to balance it back in or take out the backing of the pen but be sure not to puncture it.

    It’s seems like the gel pens skip or stop working faster that regular pens. Thanks for the hacks ☮️

      It's so unfortunate because they write so smoothly 😫 haha but I'm glad you liked the tips, hopefully they work for you!

    I realize this is an older video but the Michaels store in my area sells Gellyroll pens individually for $1.99 each and often have BOGO sales.

    Great video! Thank you so much! I also appreciate you pinning the other comment. All helpful info. Glad I don't need to go buy an entirely new set of pens.

    Tried the alcohol, but didn’t work for me, and my pens are brand spanking new. So frustrating.

    i have a two-pack of Gelly roll Glaze in Black. One worked fine. The other one won't flow. I have set it in hot water a few diff times. I have tapped them to death.
    The water hack worked for my other stuck gel pens but not on the black Glaze.
    I will try swapping out the old, empty one's tip with the full stuck one.
    Thanks so much for the lesson!!!!!!!!

      try to pull out the entire stem of the pen and then to blow air inside it with your mouth from the back side of the stem. press your mouth to it tightly or it won't work. just did that and my jelly roll is alive again! :)

    Mine has ink I cleaned it all even took the tip out and it still don’t work 😭

    • @breathesiren
      @breathesiren  2 года назад +2

      Aw man, I wish I knew how to help clear it out. I honestly just switch the whole tip of another pen and it worked for me. If the tip is completely dry, I don't think you could get it to work again.

    Can I use sanitizer instead of acohol?

    • @breathesiren
      @breathesiren  3 года назад

      I believe you could but I wouldn't use so much. I'd dab a little on a tissue and rub the tip clean. Just keep in mind the percent of alcohol in the sanitizer.
