I know that Wooten is considered amongst many to be one of the greatest bassists ever, but his music still deserves even more recognition, along with those who accompany his solo projects. His creativity on the bass is dangerous to reckon with.
In my humble opinion Victor is hands down the best bass player to ever live...but is also maybe in the top ten best musicians of all time. he breathes and bleeds the utmost expert musical ability
@@dmacrolens I'm pretty sure Wooten is one of Berthoud's biggest influences tbf, both are crazy talented and I think it's hard to compare the two at this point
I mean no disrespect towards the great bass players past and present, but Victor Wooten is one of the greatest bass players since Stanley Clarke. He’s that good.
Mikki Farmer now who cares there’s plenty of great bassists who play a part along the other great musicians, burning down the pile, big time. Its no contest as long as you can enjoy it - but in terms of the raw statement I can absolutely agree - if every song in this world would have a bass part of victor Wooten it would rather be a better place to be!!
He's the next Jaco as far as I'm concerned. Instantly recognizable, unique style, a composer, band leader and member, brings the bass to the forefront like Jaco did.
This is a duo .. I can't understand why the cameraman has to zoom in at all on a particular player.... and shifting here and there... just project at both players once as you did at the end..
Absolutly rediculous musicianship...! May I request a split screen next time? Anytime I see Maestro Wooten, I try not to blink, because I have to see what I'm hearing to help me process his incredible playing...! Awesome performance and video...!
dude, I came to this video to see Victor Wooten but the camera guy has under highlights the sax guy most of the time. come on, change the title, "sax guy and Victor Wooten accompanying him from the background".

He is the greatest bass player. Still alive. Best of all time is iaco pastrious
i agree😂
@@adammacmillandon't be so chained to the past. I firmly believe Charles Berthoud is the GOAT.
@@adammacmillan
Best of all time?
There is no such a man.
Holy cow, holding onto the groove with just two, go Victor and Bob!
You can't hold no groove if you ain't got no pocket
it 's the flow and the feel...not only the technique. Wooten has them all.

You obviously do not know about Charles Berthoud.

Harmony after 2 minutes gets really tight. Victors solo gets slapping and picking fast and things get funky. Enjoyed it all top to bottom.
Bob and Vic don't need a drummer to groove!
Vinnie colauita!
I saw them with Dennis Chambers recently, he definitely added to the flavor in the pot.
I did as well jonny! Dennis is an amazing drummer.
Vic doesn't need any other musician to groove :)
You sir, are correct!
As a sax and bass player, I hereby vow that I will reach their level someday. Knock on wood.
Same, lol. I thought I was the only one... but I am fully aware that I'm never gonna touch Victor.
Same here
How are you tracking on your progress? It's been a couple of years so I wanted to check in.
@@6beezy lol I def got better but over quarantine I've been playing less. Not wooten yet, maybe some day.
How is the progress goin mate?
Out of 10 starts ,10 being Super Excellent ,I give you guys 30 starts!!!!!
reasonable
The things I would do to see Victor Wooten live
Had the pleasure of meeting these two guys at a recent clinic in Dallas. I immediately became a Bob Franceschini fan... awesome guy, awesome musician!
Emerson Hovey what’s it like to shake victor wooten’s hand?
Man, that sax is in it right there. And the tones in the bass. Sheesh...
Magical in every way.

Wow, this is the funkiest funk I've ever listened.
Kudos to the sound guy on this, sounds amazing. Listening on my Sennheiser HD 600's

josh McDzz It's a duo and in the title it only talks about victor and it comes out more bob
The cameraman may be a sax player.
Then it wouldn't be so dramatic
cause he has a macro lens lol
Like how could it be this relaxing, my bass doesn't sound like this when it hit the body like that ;)
Fodera bass is a 10.000 bass it will sound like an "angel Harp" and of course you need the techniques too.
I'm blown away 😎

Se a música emociona a alma... O Victor é o meio pelo qual este processo acontece.
Great Song. Hard to play as well. Our jazz/funk band plays FunkyD.

Best ever bass player? I think so.
We think so too.
sweeeeeeeeet !
if they had a rly quiet snare, hats and kick playing in just the right volume this would be even better
i'm sure it could be arranged ...
Does anyone know what kind of bass that is? It's so beautiful!
It's a Fodera bass, more info can be found here: www.fodera.com/victor-wooten-yin-yang-deluxe/
Thanks for watching!
Just be prepared for the price tags
here's an idea. focus on both players while filming?
Simplesmente um plágio de uma música tema do jogo kit 95

I love VIc.But, I wish he'd play an active bass or something with more tone.. I know it's his voice.. But, the Electric bass has evolved.
He does play with an active bass. Not in this video I don't think, but his main bass is an active fodera with p/j pickups
no more goverment subsidies for active basses
That was fuuuuunky as funk
👍
U Can Hold More Groove,if you ain’t got no drummer.
Dig the Pink Panther quote...
