Thank you peakaboo parrots for keeping these videos up. I have a "closet talker" ...a parrotlet that knows how to say a lot but does it only when he is sure no one is around to hear 🤣. I recently started playing these videos when I'm with him incase it will help him feel comfortable talking when I am near him.
I love koolaid, and what makes me love him even more is that he remind me of my old parrotlet, he looked identical to koolaid, and they both passed away the same year. RIP, both of you.
My parrotlet Sweetie watches these and copies so many phrases. This is my first bird to ever talk and its because of these! Thank you! Sweetie says "tickle tickle" 😊❤

HAHA awww when you say "where's your ball?" he gets all super excited! Hahaha so, so cute n_n
I have to say this bird is so adorable! I watch your videos all the time just to hear his little voice. I have an Eclectus but was thinking of also getting a Parrotlet... LOVE KOOLAID!
Awwwe....my parrotlet Buzz would love your Koolaid! He says "You're a funny bird" too and "Whoops" They seem to pick up anything you say and sounds around the house. Buzz is always coming up with something new often!
I am impressed with his vocabulary. I have a male and female parrotlet. The male Peryy says pretty pretty bird and cookie. He also whistles like my best friend who had him for awhile and rarely mimics a burp. He is such a joy. After they pass away I would consider getting another parrotlet.
Tickle tickle is probably one of the cutest things I've ever seen with a bird >.< I loved how excited he was when you said "Ball" He's just like my dog
the white one is a Dilute Blue Pacific Parrotlet. Koolaid's cage is rather large but Smokey lives with him so it's a good size. 1/2" bar spacing 22" x 18" x 61" H Inside Height is 27"
@WillsPills56 thank u! Koolaid is especially vocal. I'd like a blue parrotlet but I already have too many birds! What colors are yours? Haha your pery mimics the burp lol.
@MandiMayhem99 There's also a lot of info on the internet & with books, I read lots of stuff cuz i really wanted to know how birds think. it makes it easier to deal with their quirky behaviours :)
omg he is such sweety! unfortunately my parents are not allowing me to get a bird but I will always love your precious parrots. smokey is beautiful and bowie is quite the comedian! i have not really heard much from hazel though.
@Butterflysin thank you! yes tickletickle sounds cute when any bird says it, guaranteed. oh u noticed how he looks around when he hears the word 'ball' lol.
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR yes they can fly far - but if you have their wings clipped a bit they can't fly too too far - depending on how much you clip. Parrotlets though, can learn to fly evn with clipped wings - like, say 15 feet across the room, not up. I always keep them away from open doors or windows - or have screens & keep the window open a crack.
@RexPecker koolaid is an unusual talker, he started talking at 8 weeks. he doesn't talk as much now that he has a mate. but still talks to himself once in awhile. you just repeat words/phrases with a lot of up/down tone...so they think it's a song. they like that kind of 'music' ;)
@JoseKlop oh wow! thank you for watching koolaid's videos! I'm glad he learned to talk & now is repeating you instead :) i watched the video, he's so cute & calm talking on your finger.
OH HOW PRECIOUS!!! It was so cute how he looked at you at 2:23 when you said 'No more ...(couldn't understand, sounded like ball). I love how he repeated what you said.
@kaanikaa15 thank you very much! some parrotlets don't talk; males are more likely to talk cuz they're usually more vocal. It helps if they're already chatty & you repeat phrases to them that has a lot of intonation & consanant sounds like "kiss kiss" "peekaboo". sort of like a pattern..
Your little guy was hatched 50 years to the day after I was born. I've got a blue male parrotlet (Mavi) who talks up a storm and really likes Peruvian flute music and Zydeco. He is starting to imitate the hawks and jays outside his window.
@pixidust06 thanks :) well, some just dont' talk at all...my smokey never talks really. I know parrotlets like the intonation of some words, clear melody & words like simple words "kiss kiss" & peekaboo. Zazoo is a cute name :) he may be talking if he already copies noises? well, just listen close & repeat repeat, or give treats when he makes those noises!
@roodeyx no you don't lol....koolaid can be very vocal and demanding with his 'voice', it is what you sometimes 'have to' deal with when u have a talking bird. Very entertaining and cute, but I also enjoy the quiet birds like my white parrotlet smokey.
Koolaid...I know you & sweet Smokey are together up in Heaven 🌈 bonded together for an eternity of love, health & Happiness. So many videos & memories to remind us of the love & happiness we have felt having had you in our lives, that your wonderful mommy has passed on to us over the years. 💋 Allot of vids have been popping up allot lately & reliving these special memories still make me cry 😪 so much when I watch, but remind me of precios moments! I miss you, goofy fun loving little yappy boy💚: Peekaboo (three!) & Tickle Tickle were ever so cute, as is everything you started chattering about. You are a special Angel 🌈 above Sweet little Birdie 💚💚💚 & your special Beautiful quiet little Smokey Girl Always in my Heart little ones💕💕 Love forever Robin 🐦 & from my sweet Angel 🌈 kitten 🐈 who left me 😪 a year ago Thanksgiving. Joanne, Here's to a wonderful Christmas 🎄🎅& a very Happy New Year 2024 ahead! 🎉🎊🍾 🍷
It was mostly Bowie. Koolaid and smokey really liked each other, but Bowie was kind of a jerk to both of them, not to mention he got all of the attention
@roodeyx i live in an apartment too but I try & keep them under control :p he isn't so aggressive but mostly scared & wanting attention. Parrotlets are so territorial so it also makes sense they act the way they do. yeah some birds just don't like each other for whatever reason. Just like humans I guess lol
I think all birds are capable of talking, espeically if you start talking to them early and repeat words with the same melody/ tone - better if you say with excitement! the "step-up" command to your finger is learned quick, you just gotta move slow with birds, they don't like sudden movements, especially with fingers. Remember they learn by association and repetition. be patient :)
@MandiMayhem99 Aww, thank u very much :) all my birds have been handraised so it was easier to train & handle them when I got them fully weaned. however it takes work to keep them tame afterwards. As long as u don't have too many birds, I think you'll be able to train Zazu (cool name). Just take ur time training - bird r senstive right..move slow, talk clear, easy words. Try being near the cage until Z gets comfy with u being near, then move ur hand closer etc.
I have a pair of pacific parrotlets sitting on 5 eggs for the past 2 wks. I am really excited. I bought them last fall and they did not mate until now....guess because of spriing. : ) Both of them are green. Wish they were blue. Have a pair of blue Quakers though. They are not mating unfortunately. Hope they will soon.
@ashleypennyful I'm not too familiar with lineolated parakeets sorry...I think parrotlets are a little more demanding though, in the fact they can have boisterous personalities, more territorial, bite harder, but very very smart. They are equivalent to the large amazons in personality & behaviour. Every type of parrot deserves the same amt of attention, so you should pick one that you think you'd spend the most time with :)
I used to have two male parrotlets. I could never get them to talk. They just made a bunch of noise. They unfortunately both died of sickness. I think I wasn't taking care of them well enough.
@rabbler0user what a cool name, Cielo! Koolaid started talking about 2 months old. He's 2yrs and a bit now. There's alot of tips on the "peekaboo" video of him - check the other Koolaid vids. But I think it's impt to have a good relationship with ur bird, talk lots to them, emphasize words u want them to learn, give them enough stimulation - diff foods, toys, attention, let them out to play everyday...and it helps if they're personality is active and vocal...
@beninatiboi Females can be trained to talk but the males are more vocal naturally. But best not to expect any bird to talk. Unless u hv an African grey...most likely will talk but they live a loooong time
@jxh0703 Aww :) I kinda guessed so actually lol My parrotlet wasn't hand-reared and I spent months training him for 15 minutes every couple of days...it worked but he just didn't like being touched...he would sit on our finger and shoulder and everything but he'd never wanted us stroke him, he'd duck if we raised our finger slightly so we never went any further...absolutely adore and miss him though..he was my little companian
@jxh0703 thanks for the advice! i have been working with him alot more and hes making alot more noises (especially when he thinks nobody is listening) what do you recommend for treats? Zazoo is a terribly picky eater! lol
I wrote on here about 6 months ago about my parrotlet Zazoo and how i couldnt get him to talk... well guess what? He IS talking!! he is just really shy!!! when he thinks nobody is listening he'll just talk talk talk talk TALK!!! i couldnt believe it!! So far I've picked up on "pretty bird" and "tickle tickle". ill be sure to post when i have caught on camera!! :))
He was such a sweet and funny boy. We’ll miss him

what happened to him? he was a young bird did he have an accident or something
True! 😩😭

I love watching these old videos; but they still make me a little sad. Still, Koolaid had a wonderful life.
Rip koolaid ಥ_ಥ
I love koolaid, and what makes me love him even more is that he remind me of my old parrotlet, he looked identical to koolaid, and they both passed away the same year. RIP, both of you.
Dear Koolaid we do miss you little one, always gets me seeing you again . 😢
Such a smart little guy, he had a wonderful life with you.
I've watched so many parrotlet talking videos, and yours definitely is the best. He talked so clearly!
Thank you. Yes he did 💚 He’s taught a lot of parrotlets on RUclips to speak 😅

Koolaid, is gorgeous
RIP sweet boy.
Awwwe....my parrotlet Buzz would love your Koolaid! He says "You're a funny bird" too and "Whoops" They seem to pick up anything you say and sounds around the house. Buzz is always coming up with something new often!
What a cutie. I honestly didn't think parrotlets could talk. Boy was I wrong, he is quite the talker! What a great bird you have.
Awww Koolaid is such a smart bird!! lovely little boy
Koolaid is just so so sweet! He's just so adorable to listen and watch. Thanks for sharing your little ones on the videos!
Tickle tickle is probably one of the cutest things I've ever seen with a bird >.<
I loved how excited he was when you said "Ball" He's just like my dog
I heard her say tickle tickle that was cute.😍
LOL at the beginning he said "Hi Bowie".
more like "Hi Koolaid"
Impossible, it was "Hi Koolaid". I don't think Bowie belonged to the family yet.
He is so smart. It is obvious that you take up a lot of time with your birds.
Yes, he was hand-fed and weaned at 6 weeks old. He is one year old this month :)
the white one is a Dilute Blue Pacific Parrotlet. Koolaid's cage is rather large but Smokey lives with him so it's a good size. 1/2" bar spacing
22" x 18" x 61" H
Inside Height is 27"
I had a parrot for 9 years. it was like koolaid but red beak :) ı missed him so much.. when I watch your videos I enjoy so much..especially bowie.. :)
@elizamex parrotlets are about $150-200 depending on mutation/colour - in Canada.
That is so cute! Didn't know parrotletts could talk.
omg he is such sweety! unfortunately my parents are not allowing me to get a bird but I will always love your precious parrots. smokey is beautiful and bowie is quite the comedian! i have not really heard much from hazel though.
@Butterflysin thank you! yes tickletickle sounds cute when any bird says it, guaranteed. oh u noticed how he looks around when he hears the word 'ball' lol.
Awhh..how cute. You make me want to have a parrotlet of my own. Haha
I love his nice, big cage!
That's just way to adorable. My two cockatiels and I watch your videos all the time. They are most interested in Bowie though!

Rest in Peace little guy
This woman has a gift ...
he talks but its like a mixture of talking and whistling. cute birdie xD
I play "Koolaid and Smokey" videos everyday for my little "Peekaboo". He loves them!
@dawdish thank you:) Oh i wish i could have an eclectus! They are smart!
@xXOneHotLennonXx yes he was - i got him at 7 weeks.
@79nicholeyoung thank you!.
I thought the same thing before I bought Koolaid - never thought he'd talk that much - he is an unusually vocal bird :)
Your little guy was hatched 50 years to the day after I was born. I've got a blue male parrotlet (Mavi) who talks up a storm and really likes Peruvian flute music and Zydeco. He is starting to imitate the hawks and jays outside his window.
your parrots are so friendly i love them they're so cute, you can scratch their necks too, and they mimic so well :)
Thanks! He's an unusually chatty one. You should try and get a handfed one, or at least one that is still a baby so it's easy to train/tame.
omg!! koolaid is adorable!! and what a cute name!!
@pixidust06 thanks :) well, some just dont' talk at all...my smokey never talks really. I know parrotlets like the intonation of some words, clear melody & words like simple words "kiss kiss" & peekaboo. Koolaid is just adorable!
@ysuzywil Thanks! it's a male.
@haiggirlsschool no, the blue under the wings and on the rump make it male. for parrotlets.
What a smart sweetie!
@captmicha thanks...he shares it...sometimes not very nicely..with a male white parrotlet :p
Omg🎵
so cute😚 ,smart bird!
my pacificparrotlet is many talk too.
@roodeyx no you don't lol....koolaid can be very vocal and demanding with his 'voice', it is what you sometimes 'have to' deal with when u have a talking bird. Very entertaining and cute, but I also enjoy the quiet birds like my white parrotlet smokey.
koolaid is too cute and adorable=)

+Sapurina theyre like a little married couple

@@jeans7393 Not sure if you figured this out but no, Smokey was his wife until they both passed
It was mostly Bowie. Koolaid and smokey really liked each other, but Bowie was kind of a jerk to both of them, not to mention he got all of the attention

@captmicha oh how nice!
Koolaid it's rude to mimic people (joke) lol Koolaid you are the coolest parrotlet I've ever seen!
RIP koolaid

it's cuz he was at home alone all day & wanted to come out of the cage...he was still the lone bird back then!!
I used to have two male parrotlets. I could never get them to talk. They just made a bunch of noise. They unfortunately both died of sickness. I think I wasn't taking care of them well enough.

I have a green cheek conure and it talks.
@scootrgrl oh they could talk to each other all day then, i think koolaid talks to his wife smokey but she never talks back. she's so good to him lol

What beautiful colors he has. He talks really good I've tried hard to teach my parrotlet whisper to talk he does not talk. How can I do that
@beninatiboi Females can be trained to talk but the males are more vocal naturally. But best not to expect any bird to talk. Unless u hv an African grey...most likely will talk but they live a loooong time
for how many years dey live
@pixidust06 that's great news! see sometimes they just dont' stop talking. now i bet you want silence lol :)
God will take care of you💚
@Memories2Dreams nope, koolaid is a parrotlet; bowie is an indian ringneck -different speicies:)
@jxh0703 thanks for the advice!
i have been working with him alot more and hes making alot more noises (especially when he thinks nobody is listening)
what do you recommend for treats?
Zazoo is a terribly picky eater! lol
awww, so cute! :'D
Sweet...want one
@HopeLilly16 females can talk too...I think males sometimes talk more because they are must more vocal in the wild/in general.
@jxh0703
how big is koolaids cage? like the dimensions in inches
Aww I had no idea that he could repeat tones like that
@SelenaMcDowell omg i want one where u get young uns?????
