I still remember my first interview. I was so nervous, I entered the room and the interviewers first question was …. ‘Tell me about yourself.’ In my nervousness, I looked at him and said… “Hi, I’m doing my MBBS”. The problem was….I was an engineering graduate.
I’ve given a lot of interviews after that and I’ve taken interviews too. And all of them have taught me that you need to be prepared for answering…. ‘Tell me about yourself’ because the way you answer it will decide whether the Interviewer will actually listen to you or will switch to Instagram and pretend to listen to you.
Call me crazy but I don’t want you to make the same silly mistake that I did during my first interview. So today, by the end of this video, you will learn how to answer this question confidently, make a great first impression and eventually get the job.
So in today’s video we are going to…
1) Understand what answer the Interviewer wants?
2) I’ll give you a formula to answer ‘Tell me about yourself’ for any job that you are applying.
3) Assuming that English is not your first language. Towards the end, I will give you a few techniques and tell you how you can speak in English fluently.

I just gave my first interview, ever! like ten minutes ago. I got nervous and started stammering, but my interviewer was so cool about it, she asked me to relax, take a deep breath and start again. I took a deep breath, calmed my nerves and gave it my all. Let's see what happens now 🤞🏻

I watched this while I was on my way to the interview and mentally rehearsed my answer for the question according to your tips. And honestly it was mind blowing how I didn't get stuck even once while introducing myself to the interviewers. Everytime I would research on the company, job description etc. But would never pay attention to this important question and would get stuck or give a short reply about myself. This video helped me to make a good first impression, and got through even with my second round and was offered a job by them. your videos are so helpful for me. I have learned a lot and now ,I can give interviews confidently.
I have one question to ask- After working in healthcare domain for 2 years I am switching my career in IT domain so how i should answer questions like -" Why you want to switch domain while both are totally different?"
The one thing one should keep in mind during interviews is that they're people just like you and they're curious about you.
You will hear lots of stories about how they do this or that and try to grill you. Some do but most of the time, if you don't know what to say or what the answer is to their question, you simply have to admit that you don't know it. That shows humility, it takes a lot to admit you're wrong and that you don't know something.
If you can get rid of your pride then that shows the interviewer, you're there with an open mind.
When I say be yourself, really just be yourself. Don't try to come off smart, as if you know everything. Keep your back straight, chin up, maintain good eye contact and speak clearly and precisely.

One thing i want to ask about this subject is what can be answered for the question "Why are you looking for a job change?" Most of the times, reason for job change is some kind of dissatisfaction in current job :) But this cant be answered to interviewer. So what are the points that can be genuinely answered without making feel them that we are praising their company just to flatter them. Second question that i want to ask is already asked below - what are your goals in coming 5 years or where do you see yourself in next 5-10 years ? and i really like the name you gave to your channel - really suits !!! glad that i came across your video while surfing :)
