Loved you Statlers when I was in 11 th grade n High School..Now at my age of 83 I still love you guys. Thanks for all these wonderful years of your great music!! God bless you everyone!!
Adding Jimmy to the mix was the greatest step they ever took. Thrie sound would not be complete without him in the mix. His voice sets them apart from all the rest.
December 2019 - Miss the Statlers so much. Trying to make arrangements to go see Jimmy Fortune in St. Louis in March 2020. He is the best thing that ever happened to the Statlers.
Agree that Jimmy was a good replacement, but are you forgetting the voice of Lew DeWitt? who picked Jimmy as his replacement. BOTH made for that one-of-a-kind Statler Brothers harmony 👏👍
I walked away Nov. 11, 1958.....refused to turn or answer when she sarcastically told me "you'll be back...." So far I have never mentioned her name to anyone again......I can't.....I might break down......met her sister 40 years later at a church social, and pretended I didn't know her.
Good to hear him solo
AT 83 I WILL NEVER STOP LOVING ALL!!!
Saw them twice at Westbury music fair. Took my son. He was a a big metallic fan. Now he sends me country songs. Winner!!!!!!!!
God gained another bass voice last year in Harold.
Rest in peace Harold Reid!😭

R.I.P. Harold, you will be missed but Never Forgotten!!!!
Boy. I love all of them. But Jimmy's voice is really golden..
Best version of this song. Superb....
They are still the best!!! I miss them so much!!!!
This was back in a better time of life . Miss the old days.
True but I still listen to them, the Oakridge boys and Alabama every night as I go to sleep, very peaceful and relaxing.
If you go to one of Jimmy's concerts ask him to sing this song and he will do it!
Real country music. Love the statler bro. There Gospel is really good too
Beautiful job. Jimmy's voice is so beautiful it's almost unreal.. love you guys...
I love the statler Brothers , their country and gospel.
yes they are the best and I do miss them lot---it was very sad when Harold passed away

Jimmy's tenor voice has a certain "timbre" which makes it easy to listen to. An amazing range too.
I agree, he blendsso well!!!

Wonderful rendition. Great harmony as always. Jimmy Fortune was such a great addition when Lew got sick and retired.

Harold and Charlie Daniels are in heaven still singing the good old songs.
Yep! Harold & Charlie Daniels have joined together now! RIP Harold & Charlie. You're both missed!!
Jimmy voice is unreal
Jimmy Fortune. - what a voice !!!
Jimmy is a joy to listen with and I sure do miss Harold but keep singing with the angels I can hear you now
They don’t come any better than Jimmy Fortune. You hit the jackpot when you hired him. He’s the best.
The Statlers done a awesome job singing this song.
this is the song they used to introduce Jimmy to us at concerts in 1982.

BOTH made for that one-of-a-kind Statler Brothers harmony
👏👍
True classic country song! Covered by many. Great version by The Statlers, enhanced by Hal Rugg, one of the best on steel.
This is the second recording the Statler Brothers did of this song. The first version was in 1972 with Lew DeWitt on their Innerview album
Love the Starlets. Am happy to have found them here on utube. I'm going to take a nap I didn't sleep last night at all
Brilliant Statlers Brothers.

Great performers
She thinks i still care An I do
Our fifty fifth high school reunion is coming up.....D'ya think i should say something?
I’m 😅
Heard better rendition by the Stats, but I'll take them anytime.

Actually Jimmy is a better singer than Lew... but I am a fan since 1965...so I loved Lew...
maybe technically... but I prefer Lew's voice so much.
Lew and Jimmie were wonderful in their own way. I love the Statler Brothers music no matter who is singing.
Jimmy and Don are standing out of place. Of course, Jimmy didn't usually sing lead on songs that he didn't write.
