Thank you so much for this accurate and informative video. I have the VM 75 and was curious if I should switch to the VM 2000. I'm so glad I stumbled upon your video. I'll stick with what I have.
Hello Mr. Barrington, thanks for the informative video but I'd like to ask some question. I'm a 16 nearly 17 year old teenager, my brother (27) bought this Multivitamin for himself but later he stopped using it for no important reason, so I decided to use it for more energy and more appetite also to generally support my vitamin needs. I've looked into some reviews but I'm not sure if I'm suitable for the use just because I'm young, would there be any side effects?
Hi, Robert! You told that you use one tablet of VM 75, but according of instruction should be 2 tablets daily. Your opinion, that one is enough for normal man?
I am about to finish my solgar omnium 90 tablets in few days, but next time I will definitely go for VM75 since omnium is very pricey, more than 1 euro per tablet! I am sometimes wondering how much actually body can utilize these tablets when you keep in mind that some vitamins/minerals require specific conditions to be absorbed, like, to be taken with water, some other with fat, some on empty stomach, some with food etc.
Hello, yes Solgar Omnium is expensive, but a very good multivitamin. I like the fact it uses certain herbs and plant extracts, but really these con be obtained from a healthy diet no problem. The absorption of most minerals from supplements is not good, unless you have a deficiency, in which case the absorption increases dramatically. I see them as a way to unsure a good range of nutrients each day, not as a substitute for foods, as they can never be as good as foods.
If I take the vm2000 throughout the day (half with my2nd meal & the other half with my 4th meal) could I take solgars zinc, magnesium and calcium before bed or would this still stop the absorption of the solgar 2000? Thanks in advance
Rob, in your view, is it good/neccessary to take a break once in a while when taking solgar VM75 (and generally speaking, also some other supplements) ? One guy once told me that it is advisable to take a breaks, otherwise the body might get used to these artificial sources of vitamins too much. Is for example 1 month of supplemetation followed by 2 weeks of break good choice?
Hello M zk777, I can see why you might want to take a break from them, but I am not convinced the reason is because you get used to synthetic vitamins. I change my multivitamin a lot, purely because I do not really think any are that brilliant, and all have flaws. As the flaws in them tend to be different for different brands, I swap around the multivitamin that I take. All multivitamins tend to be a compromise, so its hard to pick out any that are really brilliant, food is a much better way to get the nutrients, but as we know the food we eat is not always so good. I can sort of see the point of having a break from folic acid, as it is not clear how this might affect folate metabolism. Also maybe from iron, if you are a man. Its a tricky one, I dont really have an answer. I would say swapping brands is a better strategy. The odd break wont hurt as long as you eat well in the 'no supplement' phase. Best wishes, Robert.
Thanks! Swapping the brands seems like an interesting strategy. Can you possibly name which ones are you using, so I can google them up, investigate little bit, and maybe copy your approach :)
Hello M zk777, I would say the following are worty of consideration, but there are more, these are just the ones I have tried and have access to: Solgar VM2000, Solgar Omnium, Solgar VM74, Swiss 50 +, Phoenix Nutrition Optimum Multivitamin, Lambert's Multiguard (and its variations). I hope this helps. If you want me to give an opinion of one you can, copy the link below and I can give my personal opinion on it (for what that is worth). Best wishes, Robert
Thanks for yr helpful advice.Am gonna try the solgar vm 75.I also suffer from depression and anxiety. Is it safe to take also omega 3 and magnesium taurate supplements also with the solgar vm75?
Hello Sam Holden, yes the supplement will be safe with hose other supplements. Sometimes taking high levels of B vitamins can cause anxious symptoms in some individuals. If this happened, take less of the soglar (maybe every third day) and observe what happens. Best wishes, Robert
now you have experience in this product,, i want to buy this today but i don’t know what i should to take for myself mv75 or 2000 ??? i haven’t used this before.
Hello Ahmed, Vm2000 is a better product. But it is twice the price. If money is no object go for VM2000. If you want a product that is 95 % as good, but half the price, then go for VM75. Also VM2000 is two tablets a day. But VM75 is one. Therefore VM75 may be more convenient for some. Best wishes, Rob
Robert Barrington first i thank your responding , and i will take your advice and go for mv 2000 ,, i don’t care about money if 2000 bettre than other as you said ,, again thank you very much, and special like 👍🏻
I love your videos and I love what you're doing. I've watched every one of your RUclips videos and you've helped me on my journey tremendously. Are your services for sale at all? I'm an athlete looking for nutritionist. Thank you!
Hello Dr. Barrington. I am a vegan athlete from Greece and I want to start a multivitamin as a supplement to my demanding daily program. In this video you suggest VM2000, but you mention that there is a lack of Chromium, Selenium. What supplement would you propose? Thank you in advance!
You could just take extra chromium and selenium. About 200 micrograms of both. Chromium picolinate and selenium as selenomethionine is probably about as good as any.
Hi please suggest me how many tablets one day.. I just just bought yesterday.. On the jar it's 3 tablet per day .. So we have to take 3 on same times or like morning , lunch or dinner.
@@RobertBarrington But here only solgar male multiple vitamins minarals Dietary supplement with 60 tablets. Suitable for vegetarians Gluten ,wheat & dairy free.
Hello Sam Holden, the short term benefits will occur after a few week, the longer term benefits maybe up to 6 months. You may not notice big improvements in anything, but it will likely maintain your metabolic needs and this will most likely be seen as improvements in cognitive function over the course of a year or so. Stick with it. Best wishes, Robert
Which form of Magnesium is best absorbed and can help with reducing high blood pressure of 150/85 and heart rate of maximum 90 ? Also for thyroid , solgar do they have any natural supplements to help with TSH 8?
Hello Amany Dubai, all magnesium is well absorbed, but amino acid chelates and organic compounds such as citrate and malate are better absorbed that magnesium oxide. However, oxide is so cheap, you can easily take twice as much of it for the same price. I use regular magnesium oxide. Yes magnesium supplements can reduce high blood pressure. I think Solgar do thyroid support supplements but not marketed as such. L-tryrosine may help, and so may kelp. Other manufacturers also do these supplements. Best wishes, Robert
I resently be suffering a illness and want to get better.Which brand is best for feeling better?vm75 or vm2000.And now long do i have to take it before i start to feel better thanks.
Hello Sam Holden, it very hard for me to say how vitamins will affect individuals. Take iron for example. It can take up to 6 months of supplements to reverse anaemia in some individuals. Based on this I would expect a multivitamin to take up to 6 months to reverse certain deficiencies, if you have them. Other may respond more quickly. Best wishes, Robert
Hello Sam Holden, this is again very hard question as we are all unique. I would suggest either VM75 or VM200, as they are very similar. VM2000 is slightly better, but not worth twice the cost. So i guess it depend how rich you are as to which one you buy. Solgar omnium is even better again, but even more expensive. Swiss Ultivite is another good multivitamin worth looking at. Best wishes, Robert
I took the 2000 but I don't really know how to consume them. Do you "down" them with water or raw? I don't believe that it really matters but just to be sure.
Hello SenseiKai, multivitamins are best taken with food. If you take VM2000, take one in the morning, one later in the day would be my recommendation. Best wishes, Robert
Robert Barrington thanks for the reply but that's not what I meant. Do you take them as you would do with pills or do you dissolve them in water or food.
Hello, ah sorry I understand now. Yes you take them as pills. There is no problem if you do want to grind them up, but I think they would probably taste pretty awful like this. Best wishes, Robert
for solgar vm2000, in the morning i am taking two of the tablets at the same time, is it the right way ? or should we take them seperately such as one in the morning and one in the afternoon?
Hello Kerem PARALAKGUMUS, it would be better to take them divided in the day, but in reality taking both together would not be so bad. All that it means is that the water soluble vitamins will drop to lower levels between doses, and the peak levels will be greater. Best wishes, Robert
thank you so much for the reply, just to "get things done" which is "taking the daily multivitamins daily " (not giving break even saturday, sunday, or should i give break on weekends?) i will take two of them at the same time in very early morning.
Hello Karem PARLAKGUMUS, I would take everyday, and take one in the morning, and one later in the day sometime. If you wanted to take both together, I think that would also be beneficial, sometimes you may forget, so better to take them both together if this is likely to be a problem. Best wishes, Robert
robert thank you so much. i am in my 10th day of taking VM2000, i am very glad and happy, because it really works out, helps me to tackle with the struggles of everyday life situations. for morning take, do you take it like as soon as you wake up when hungry, or with breakfast?
Im 30 all this running life made me feel so tired and my nutrition is shit so pharmasist adviced me on vm75 the only other supp i take is digestive enzymes and probiotic with breakfast and an Omega 3. Can i take em all together with breakfast+vm75? Also if in your breakfast a coffee lets say will it matter vs vm75? How is sitting on stomach this vitamin? I dont like feeling discomfort from a bloody tablet😂 thank you. 🖤
Hello Sector-O Oatmeal cinammon, I would suggest that talking them all together would be fine. I would always recommend talking them with food. Could you take them at lunch instead with your food? Best wishes, Robert
They contain folic acid which is potentially not good for people with the MTHFR gene mutation, kind of annoying because Solgar do make supplements with folate instead.
There are a number of polymorphisms of this gene, and the issues is not as straightforward as made out by many internet sources. I am not sure why a manufacturer of a mass produced multivitamin should be expected to provide a supplement that is applicable to 100 % of the population. It is well know that nearly all multivitamin supplements provide forms of vitamins that are not optimal. They have to make the product to fit a budget. As always with buying things, buyer beware, do your own research and buy what suits you. Folic acid does reduce plasma homocysteine in human subjects in a dose dependent manner, showing that claims it cannot become THF in many individuals are false.

Hello, is it true that it thickens the hair strands? Solgar Vm 2000 !
Why do you need double the amount of VM 2000 daily compared to VM 75 if the nutrient content amount of both is virtually the same?
Hello Sir, how do you compare Solgar VM2000 and the Solgar Male Multiple, thanks
Well, in another video one said that vitamin B 12 is cyanocobalmine… which is synthetic so… 🤷
Hello🌺. Why does Solgar replace methylcobalamin with cyanocobalamin in multivitamin products? Wouldn't methylcobalamin be better?
Probably to do with price.
