    I know for the Chemtronics heats that use the disc, the gray dot means it’s fixed only, and the ring means high temp. Might be the same for those Notifier detectors

    System sounds great. Also how did it feel to climb up through that old style roof hatch? Always wanted to experience one of those.

      The roof access isn’t anything exciting or special I think most of them are like that

    Do they disconnect that Notifier gateway every time they have fire drills? I would imagine the emails would get annoying on a monthly basis as well.

    I tried searching for the grey circle on the smoke detector and couldn't get any information.
    I believe it is a notifier 851 series.
    The closest ones I got are the ones with black circle which is a FST-851H which is a high temp heat and the FST-851 thermals which have a grey circle on them.

    Every school I've been to seems to do the test during the drill. Out of my entire time In school I've only been in one test. They got on the intercom and told that they were going to test and to stay inside. Alarms only went for about 2 minutes

    Do you know why during 12:42 the horns sound 4 times instead of 3?

    • @nics-systems-electric
      @nics-systems-electric  2 года назад +1

      Sometimes they do that when they first go off when they are still syncing with each other

  • @Peekofwar

    Pretty sure on iOS if you take something in slomo, you can shrink the smo-motion range in post down to basically zero... Unless they changed it, I've done that before where I removed the slowmo from a slomo shot.

  • @pacfilming8117

    Why does it take a while for the bells to ring?

    • @nics-systems-electric
      @nics-systems-electric  2 года назад

      Because it’s conventional circuits being monitored by addressable module so there’s a long delay for the system to go into alarm

      It's summertime lol, usually the time the school inspections are. My company doesn't do any schools unfortunately, which sucks as they are the one building I want to do the most. Doing apartments everyday gets pretty tedious, and theres far more to test in an apartment than a school I feel.

    • @nics-systems-electric
      @nics-systems-electric  2 года назад

      @@MircomFan I can see that for sure being very repetitive unit after unit lots of schools get pretty boring too but the larger schools get more interesting with more building integration with fire alarm such as turning on exhaust fans and opening big doors that kind of stuff if you don’t mind me asking why doesn’t your company do schools?

    • @MircomFan
      @MircomFan 2 года назад

      @@nics-systems-electric That is very true. But yeah, mainy why I don't like it, we do about 90% apartments and 10% other buildings. What age are the schools in your area? I feel like it would be interesting for me, as most schools around my area were built between the 60s and 80s, so many have all sorts of additions and various systems, although it's mostly Mircom and Notifier here now. We don't do them because my boss doesn't want to get into bidding/ contracts, which is how most school boards find a company to do their inspections here.

    Detectors expire like smoke alarms?

    • @GaryBeltz
      @GaryBeltz 2 года назад

      I would imagine yes because essentially it's just a smoke alarm without the alarm it just has a relay that sends a signal to the main FACP regardless of whether it's ionization or photo electric
